    Dear Deepan

What i said is the basic roaming tariff which is common to all operators. there may be roaming rate cutters or packages in docomo or it will be introduced in future.

    Dear Ramesh,

What you are saying is right and thatz what I mentioned at first... But What I expected from them is, if they start everything in per second basics, they should give roaming rates (atleast while roaming in their network) as say 2p/sec for incoming and 5p/2sec for outgoing STD...

i dont hink docomo will comewith second billing in roaming.

it will trai who will reduce call charges.

  2. Could anyone please tell me the list of cities where Bsnl evdo is fully functional and can be got... like e.g. meerut? as their customercare is just useless in this regards.

Also if I take this usb modem in Meerut, will I be able to roam in Delhi/Faridabad etc. and also get evdo speeds there?

better visit exchage and ask for demo,

u can roam to NCR, where ever their is bsnl exchage, say e.g. noida

  3. Hi folks,

i have been trying to log my on-peak and off peak hours for my Broadband+ postpaid connection. But, i've not been able to calculate exactly because of the following reasons.

    1. Say for example you start your connection at 9pm (which is on peak) and extend upto 12 am (where 1 hour peak + 2 hour offpeak), the data report on the Reliance shows the composite addition for the time it was connected. here, it would be for 3 hours.. and data traffic .. for example.. 4 gb. We cant make out how much data was consumed between 9 to 10.

I have asked customer care many many times, and they always point me to the website which gives this kind of ambiguous reports.

Is there a solution? Is RIM coming up with a better breakage of these off peak and on peak data logs? God only knows.

I hope some of RIM folks are reading this forum and atleast improve the "customer satisfaction" and "customer queries"

I only like one thing: that is the speed of this connection. its superfast and data transfer rate going upto 340 KB/sec !!.

u can do one thing when u log at 9pm, just disconnect ur connection for 30second at extacly 10pm and start new session from 10.01pm.

    simple

  4. 15 days of usage

    Tariff comparison

    Tariff A = Local 1p/1sec and STD 1p/sec [Pulse 1 sec]

    Tariff B = Local 60p/1min and STD 60p/1min [Pulse 60 secs]

    Tariff C = Local 50p/1min and STD Re1/1min [Pulse 60 secs]

    Tariff D = Local Re1/1min and STD Rs 1.5/1min [Pulse 60 secs]

Calls so far charged based on Tariff A = Rs 60.36

Same calls Charged if based on Tariff B = Rs 74.40

Same calls Charged if based on Tariff C = Rs 88.50

Same calls Charged if based on Tariff D = Rs 150.50

    % saved Tariff A vs Tariff B = 18.87 % [Rs. 14.04]

    % saved Tariff A vs Tariff C = 31.80 % [Rs. 28.14]

    % saved Tariff A vs Tariff D = 59.89 % [Rs. 90.14]

The more you call the more you save..

No connectivity problem, No dropped calls, No missed calls.. Good going..

also consider tariff d : local 1p/1se and std 2p/1sec.

    good work

    @ramesh, which are the operators b, c and d?

b = docomo with minute pulse.

    c= rcom jadu pack

d= any operato's lifetime sim card 's default tariff

  5. Despite of chinese equipment, I was also told by someone who is working in RCOM that initially RCOM had put full pressure of completing call on its existing CDMA network to save cost without any upgradation in technology and increasing lines.

THeir GSM network was based on CDMA network. When your GSM handset try to make call then your number connect call using their cdma network. And it was become mess. Now RCOM gradualy rectifying their mistake and making independent GSM network and putting pressure on cdma network only for routing the calls .

But it will take another 9-12 months to complete the whole project.

how it is possible to connect ur call using cdma network and gsm handset?? :NOTriste:

second point is clear? routing is possible

  6. The thread title gives hope that in future we can get lower tariff for STD.

The need of the hour is to break 1 Re. barrier for STD. Its time to go below that. Most of the operators still charge Rs. 1.50. In some cases with some schemes/tariff cards you can lower the STD rate but effectively it is still high. I am hopeful that the new entrants will fuel the competition in this area also and thus there is a ray of hope.

But I still I dont understand one thing. TRAI is looking forward to MNP as it is the norm in other developed countries. But TRAI is convieninetly not lloking at the fact that the developed countries dont have any concept like STD. The whole country is one country and hence local. Why nobody is raising this issue to abolish the concept of STD ? Idealy, as in UK, USA, you can have only two things - local and long distance (international calling - ISD).

But till the time Raja awakes, praja only can hope for lower STD tariff.

i am open for only local concept,

tata docomo already done that with 1p/1sec. :signthankspin:

  7. I thinks its pretty fair. 90 days locking or porting charges, billing etc.

I have a feeling that initially they will not offer it to prepaid customers but surely they will provide MNP to all. New operator will charge again for lifetime validity , I also feel that lifetime charges will increase once MNP comes. Because that wway they will try to retain customers.

No, if any chagres are incresed then no one will migrate. but new opertor always want customer of old operator.

I think Prepaid and Postpaid will be Treated equally, and if still such Condition Exist. We have COnvert our Prepaid to Postpaid with Current Provider itself and then try for Porting Number :winko::winko::winko:

no, becuse, doner may commit 6month locking for MNP if u change to postpaid,

New Delhi: The State-owned telecom firm BSNL will spend Rs 349.31 crore in 2009-10 to expand its CDMA-based wireless services while the other PSU, MTNL, has no such plans in this segment.

In a written reply to a query in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State of Communications and Information Technology, Gurudas Kamat said, "In BSNL, 19.21 lakh lines of CDMA based equipments are under various stage of supply and installations for the 20 09-10... BSNL has planned to spend Rs 349.31 crores on procurement of the equipments."

The minister added BSNL services within the local area would be strengthened with the capacity expansion.

He clarified that MTNL has no plans to expand its CDMA network in the near future. However, MTNL plans to spend Rs 122.91 crore to add ten wireless local loop (WLL) towers in Mumbai in 2009-10.

My view: i think soon or later bsnl will also jump into full fledged cdma mobile to give tough competition to rcom, mts and tata cdma.

or probably to third party, who will work as MVNO in india.
