  1. I have a Viable Solution though

Reliance can officially offer GSM Roaming to all there CDMA Customer.

Means Incoming and Outgoing call can be Completed with same Number (Already CDMA Customer are Getting GSM SIM for International Roaming)

So till the MNP Comes Reliance can offer their Premium Customer with GSM Roaming in Self Network.

I think everybody sud call Reliance Big Person and Ask them to Offer GSM Roaming Service

what is result, if u r provided roaming in other state, and not able to acess GSM n/w in home place?

DOT had already made rule for roaming cdma cutomer in GSM n/w

  2. As part of its inaugural offer, MTS subscribers would be offered one million minutes free talk time. The services would be available in 117 towns across six districts, including Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.

By June-end, MTS would be present in 300 towns and by July would extend services to almost 400 towns in Kerala, he said. MTS is the eighth player to launch its services in Kerala.

^^^ Sounds stupid to me.. a million minutes for each Customer or what?

    Already started marketing gimmicks !

By the style in which they're mentioning names of citites/towns, its really gonna be difficult for any new provider to cover Nationwide Customers.

You see.. Virgin is no more a virgin today.. lag gayee hai !

what exactly u mean to say?

those town are not much population or they are already having high teledensity.

I also want to know what is price of MTS handsets?

  3. This is from the MTS india website form the FAQ section:

It clearly mentions that after every chargeable call a message is sent notifying the customer about the current balance. In 6 yrs of providing CDMA services on a pan India basis, Reliance and Tata have not been able to provide these services........

Ah... and I thought CDMA doesn't support it!! :'(

 no u r wong dont' forget that rcom sending sms sfter calling to *225, so MTS had just changed it to AFTER CHARGABLE CALL

    it's implementation is simple.

    ^^^

that means once the call ends they will send a normal sms with balance and not displaying the balance in screen as in gsm. so this sending sms after call was always possible.. just think one makes 50-100 calls everyday and after every call he gets an sms then almost everyday his inbox will be full...

this sms balance service will be useful for some and headache for some.. :)

Thats a nice way to look at it dude!!!!!!!!!

Now I can feel proud of Reliance not prividing such a service..........

it 's matter of customer , some customer are lazy for reading sms also <_<

yes, If its just about sending SMS, then its better without this service. Why is it not possible to show the balance as a service message as in GSM?

and cdma dos't support USSD as in case of GSM

  4. Is there any difference in the speed with both modems? Which one is working better.

I found ZTE AC8710 much better in Speeds.

    And Huawei 168c in looks.

does both have HSD and 1x mode?

So the ugly typist is more productive than the beautiful secretary....

    LOL

^^^But Vishal Sheth is not getting this....

He is saying that 600 to 800 kbps which he got in USA is better than our 360 kBps.

can all rimwerian stop discussing GAME of kbps and KB/s

  7. what about roaming?

    what is mobile number series?

what data tariff wap and net both.?

They have a roaming agreement with Tata Indicom and I have used the same in Punjab, Haryana & Delhi.

You can only make/receive calls and SMS does not work on Tata Indicom's roaming at the moment.

The number series in Rajasthan is 9875 and 9667.

The co. is going to launch services in Tamil Nadu-Chennai and Kerala soon and the number series for these circles is 9150 and 9142 respectively.

The CDMA2000 1x data service has not bee started and hence no data plans are available.

good news :SI: , i was thinking that their is no roaming at all

roaming means full service mobile operator :)

but still waiting for good quality handset. :Decepcionado:

i hope co will start data service in TN and kerala from day 1 :winko:

    ^^^

Is the above ad really Shyam Sistema's? If yes, we are all set to welcome yet another new entrant in the CDMA sector...

Yes the above ad campaign is from Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd.

Although they provide services in the Rajasthan circle under the Rainbow brand, they will be launching services in Tamil Nadu-Chennai and Kerala under their Russian brand MTS

yes ad is from sistema and they would probabily launch on 25 or 28march

i too early waiting for MTS brand with shyam
