thats still cheaper than many phones like the communicator when they are launched in india. BTW, some1 on this forum was looking to buy a phone b/w blackberry and communicator or something. My uncle used to use blackberry for the past year. 4 days bk he bought the nokia 9300 and is the first one in india to get the "blackberry connect" on it. So now he gets the blackberry mail on the communicator itself. Its taken airtel more than 2 days to configure it for him.

They have these small dynamos which they have attached to the bullock driven waterwheels, and while they water the fields their laptop batteries get charged for another bought of checking email and downloading copyrighted stuff 43794[/snapback] Do they also use low voltage centrinos to make the most out of their batteries?
-
ya he said 551 to me too provided it wasnt wet.
-
and how do they charge the notebook batteries?
-
ok.. yesterday i picked up my handset with wet hands and water actually went inside. The service centre guys say that the board's gone for sure.. he said without opening it that if waters gone inside, a board replacement will cost a little less than 4k.. perfect time to ditch RIM.
-
haha....ok, firstly this isnt april and secondly, i dont have the patience to make up all that crap....
-
dont go for the airtel card.. not only is it way slower than dialup, it is way costlier then the rim datacard which is much faster than dialup.

10 October 2005 - Sony Ericsson has announced today the launch of its next generation smartphone, the P990. The new model will be 3G and Wi-Fi enabled, have a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus and feature a new hardware keyboard beneath the flip-down keypad. The P990 is the next in a line of successful Sony Ericsson smartphones - the P800, P900 and P910 – and is based on the same concept and recognisable form factor. The P990 will be the first commercially available smartphone to adopt the enhanced Symbian OS version 9.1 and UIQ 3 software platform and because of this Sony Ericsson want to give developers plenty of time before the phone launches early next year. The 3G phone will be capable of video calling, high-bandwidth multi-media downloads and the ability to browse the Internet with full HTML pages. These are viewed in landscape on the new Opera 8 browser. In addition, the P990 is prepared for all major push e-mail clients enabling full e-mail access with attachments, anywhere, anytime. The phone features a 2.8 inch QVGA 262k touch screen, 80 Mb of user free memory, a 64 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo card in the box and the ability to take up to 4GB when the memory size becomes available next year. The P990 will be commercially available in Q1 2006. The variants will be: - P990i Dual mode UMTS (2100MHz) - GPRS 900/1800/1900 for Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa - P990c Dual mode UMTS (2100MHz) - GPRS 900/1800/1900 for Mainland China. Launch for mainland China dependant on availability of 3G services. - The P990 will be available in 4 hardware keyboard variants: QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY and Russian

i frankly doesnt think that reliance would be able to provide the same level of after sales service that is being provided by airtel dsl. Whenever (though rarely) i recieve a problem, it is attended to within 4 business hours and generally rectified within that period too. This includes major problems also.

wtf.. my plan needs a change,, nows the perfect time.. thanks
-
no mukul, you got it wrong. Airtel only offers unlimited plans under 64 and 128kbps. Your plan is a 128kbps. If you arent aware of that, then im afraid the salseman pulled one over you. I'm currently using the 512kbps 2.5gb limit plan.

if ur looking at instant email, blackberry would be the choice, otherwise you could even look at nokia. I mean, nokia wont offer you that, but i think apart from that, it has everything covered.

i used to use it till sometime bk..

rajan, firstly. i had no clue that u were not from delhi. Since u were so actively taking part in the delhi meet discussions, i thought u were a delhiite. Secondly, as i have mentioned b4 that i was to reach some place before six, it was not posssible for me to come after 5:40. Also, when i messaged you that i was tied up, it was just to save your time and not keep you waiting for me because i got free at 9 eventually and then it wasnt possible for me to meet you. Until next time...
-
i didnt exactly come. But i was all ready to come and since i had to leave early and since no1 was planning to reach at the scheduled time i didnt come only. I had some plans to go to jor bagh but since no one was reaching on time i decided not to stop on the way at dilli haat and carried on to jor bagh.

ya.. its not a cdma. But not supporting itunes hardly matters. The only 2 useful features that itunes has is that is syncs with the ipod (frankly, we dont have a choice and i'd rather use the explorer to drag n drop songs which obv apple doesnt allow with the ipod). And, it has a huge music library for which no1 in india cares as long as buying legal mp3s isnt forced upon us. Apart from that, what special features does itunes offer which we may miss out on with the N91? Also, nokia does have phones specially designed for india, the 1100 or something.

Dilli haat is big. so lets decide a place inside where everyone can meet. Hows about the sikkim house restraunt where you get momos and fruit beer.

the main apps that i was using earlier were News(text) and Cricket scores. Since im on dapo and news comes under M which is free for me, i still use that. However for scores i use sms 1234 since that too is free for me.
-
i dont like that phone. However the nokia N91 looks worth waiting for. 4gb hdd, series 60 and 2mp camera.

its been in the delhi newspapers for sometime now.
