Puneet replied to Vishal Gupta's topic in General Technical Discussion
That flash drive offer was only for the US. It was mentioned in the fine print. Am not too sure about the Vista offer too, but at least the URL at which I registered read something like www.microsoft.com/india/offers. Am hoping we will get the CDs this time -

Most of the phones these days have Li-Ion batteries which are different from Ni-MH/Ni-Cd batteries that we had till about a few years ago. While all the concepts given above are valid for Ni-MH/Ni-Cd batteries, they do not hold good for Li-Ion batteries. Li-Ion batteries do not suffer from the problems of charge-cycles. You can recharge them as often as you would like without having an adverse effect on the life of the battery. However, keeping the charger on after the battery has fully charged can result in over-heating and elevated temperatures could result in lower battery life. Also, "Deep-Discharging" - discharging till the battery is completely drained off - should be avoided in Li-Ion Batteries. A deep-discharge is recommended only once a month and that too for proper calibration of the battery meter (bars). A detailed article on Li-Ion batteries can be found on wikipedia and Battery University.

Reliance Communication To Enter Gsm Services
Puneet replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
I guess you are referring to sale of stake (~20%) to Orascom by Hutchison Whampoa, which translates to ~9% holding in Hutchison-Essar, and a seat on the board of HE. This too didn't go down well with Essar and they had complained to DoT. -
Reliance Communication To Enter Gsm Services
Puneet replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
The war is not on who owns what in Hutchison-Essar. The current stand-off is regarding the merger of BPL Mobile with Hutch. As of date, Essar (without Hutch) owns 100% of BPL Mobile - through various holdings. As per the original SPA the transfer should have been completed by July 31, 2006. However, the DOT clearance didn't come by the said date, and Essar used it as an excuse to terminate the SPA. While Hutch is ready to waive off the conditions to get BPL Mobile. Essar is using it as a leverage, to get a greater say in Hutchison-Essar. There is another hiccup in the merger though - spectrum. As of date Hutch and BPL hold 10MHz of spectrum each, but if they are merged the combined entity would be entitled to just 15 MHz (which is the maximum limit as per the Indian laws). And in case that happens, I do not know what will happen to the already deteriorating network conditions of Hutch in Mumbai. You could read more about the stand-off in the recent issues of Economic Times. -

Puneet replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
And the merger of BPL Mumbai with Hutch is in doldrums. Essar which actually owns BPL Mumbai has already given a termination notice to Hutch for the Share-Purchase agreement. They are now fighting it out in the court and the matter would most probably be given for arbitration. So we cannot be sure if Hutch will own BPL Mumbai or not. -
But I have exchanged MMS with Arun - though that was N6235 to N6235.

Here is another approach. I have used the COUNTIF(range, criteria) function to count the number of Ps in a row as well as a column, and then multiplied this number by the AvgBill. You can either use naming a cell as "AvgBill" as I have done, or if the AvgBill varies by month you can use a fixed cell (e.g. $F$2) to compute, and fill in the value of AvgBill on top of every sheet. Naming the variable is applicable to all the sheets in an excel file. Am attaching a sample file, downlaod it and rename it to imvikky.xls. The site doesn't permits upload of xls files Hope that helps. As for importing data in MySQL, I guess that should be possible but am of no help there. imvikky.mp3

You would need a data cable and LG PC Sync for that. You can download PC Sync from www.lgmobiles.com. In case you do not have the data cable and do not want to buy one, you could request a LG Service centre to download and export your phonebook in .csv format, or you could request one of the fellow Mumbai RIMwebian who has the datacable to do that for you :-)
-
Try the instructions posted here. However, you will need the data cable to connect your LG phone to the computer.

I used Samsung A-563 for almost 2.5 years. Am done with clam-shell design for the time being. Its too much of a hassle. Answering a call requires one more operation - flip the phone open. You cannot just hold the phone in between your ear and shoulder if both your hands are busy for sometime, as you always fear it might break. Though, I never face a mechanical fault with my Samsung, it was of high build quality. More importantly am bored with the flip-phones Sound quality of AMR song that you sent seems good. I feel its not as rich as the few mp3 songs that I have on my phone.
