Why would you want to do so?

Service is officially out in West Bengal and Mahrashtra on Trial basis. Check this link Dial 1234

Sony z520a - No. As it is a GSM handset and CDMA and GSM are two different technologies, you can not use the handsets interchangeably on both the networks, until and unless it is one of those CG handsets from LG and Samsung, which Ashok has been talking about recently.

Hurrey!!!!! I won I won I won

The slot at the back of 3125 is not a SIM slot for GSM phone, but a RUIM-slot. RUIM is CDMA equivalent of GSM and is used by TATA. Reliance also supports it for some handsets. However, there is no way of converting a CDMA handset into a GSM handset, by flicking a SIM in or out. Both are different technologies, and require different chipsets.

Go to "My Controls" --> "Board Settings" and you can do that here too. My Controls is on the top of the page, and Board Settings is in the left hand sub menu on the My controls page towards the lower side. You can even click this link http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=04

I have been using CDMA handsets for almost 3 years now, and I have been a heavy user as well. Never faced such a problem. Have even slept with the phone on sometimes. In fact I do not get how can a handset used with a handsfree give a headache. Might be that the people that you talk to these days give you headache

Yes it is And all the litter that we manage to clean goes in there.

We used to solve these kinda things while I was in class XI. Long ago, and I was not an IITian then Thanks.

This is a fallacy. Since a+b=c, a+b-c=0. The above equality holds only because both the sides are zero. And when a multiplication by zero term is involved, you cannot equate the coefficient of the terms. This would amount to saying 1*0 = 0, and also 10000000000* 0 = 0 hence, 1 = 10000000000 (or whatever). (4 - 9/2)^2 = (5 - 9/2)^2 = 0.25 Square roots of 0.25 are +/- 0.5 Similarly, square roots of (4 - 9/2)^2 are +/- (4 - 9/2) and (5 - 9/2)^2 are = +/-(5 - 9/2)^2. 4-9/2 = -0.5 and 5-/2=0.5. You are equating the wrong roots. Correct way would be -(4-9/2)=(5-9/2) or (4-9/2)=-(5-9/2) Expanding the brackets in one of the above -4 + 9/2 = 5 -9/2, perfectly correct and now you cannot cancel out 9/2, hence 4 is not equal to 5.

One India / One Nation / One Rupee Plans by various operators
Puneet replied to kcvvenkit's topic in The Lounge
There is more to OneIndia tariffs than meets the eye. We need to delve deeper in the current rules and regulations to understand the need for the new numbering plan. Currently, India follows a SDCA (Short Distance Charging Area) based numbering system for landlines (fixed or wireless), and LSA (Licensed Service Area) based system for mobiles. SDCA is more or less equal to a tehsil, while LSA is equal to a state in most cases. There is another demarcating area in between known as LDCA (Long Distance Charging Area) which is equal to a district in most cases. There is difference as to the way interconnectivity is provided between a landline and a mobile operator. While 2 landline operators are supposed to have PoIs (Point of Interconnection) at the SDCA level, the Mobile operators interconnect with each other and landline operators at the LDCA level. By doing so, they are supposed to give the landline operators a transit (TX) charge for the calls to carry them from the LDCA PoI to the terminating phone at SDCA level. This increases the cost of call for mobile operators. If we need to have OneIndia then this difference has to be sorted out, otherwise it may prove to be a bone of contention between BSNL and the private operators. One of the ways out is to move to LDCA based numbering system, which incidently is followed by the US too. That way a call handed over at LDCA level is supposedly handed at the terminating level thus eliminating the TX charges. It also eases out the issues of number portability for a person moving from say Pune to suburbs of Pune need not change his number. There are other issuestoo but I too need to read more of the regulations to identify them but am currently running short of time. So till later -
Well, he wants to know if he can give you some money as his share of $185. I guess that is more than a clue now His second advice no longer holds as we have a perpetual license now.
-
Couldn't get you actually. Can you be more specific ? I think anujit wants to know if he (or we) can share some part of the $185 somehow. And he says that we might shift to a free board.

Great work Arun. Now let us exploit the full power of the new version :-) I still do not see the online edit feature Its here and I love it. This is great for correcting small typos that come to your notice only after the post had been made.

Because, Orange is a trademark of France Telecom. Hutch was using it under agreement. Also, Hutch had started to use orange color for its services elsewhere, for which France Telecom had slapped a case in Delhi High Court. Then they reached an out of court settlement, as a result of which Orange was reverted back to France Telecom, so Orange in Mumbai became Hutch. And Hutch stopped using orange color Indiawide and switched to pink. And last I heard, Reliance is planning to switch colors too - something vibrant on the lines of Reliance Energy. Seems Anil has been after the brand repositioning, he also wanted the WW to be rechristened to something else, which seemingly was opposed by the top hinchos of the company, and he seems to have bought it for the time being.

Three terms to define whatever carcker did. "Network Neighbourhood", "TracePing" and "Ignorants on PC". I would agree in toto with what Ashok said. @SexyGurl: Having three partitions with three windows is not going to help you, if a virus really comes on to your PC. I would say you get two HDDs, install windows on one, use it for all the serious puposes, and maybe for safe browsing too. Just get a good firewall and anti-virus. And on the ohter one install Linux and browse as many porn sites as you want, you would be safe from viruses - till the time Ashok or linuxguy write a virus for linux and plant it on your comp

No. Its free. I was told that it was free as CDRs could be used as confidence enhancer in Reliance billing.

I think he was refering to the dual voltage and not frequency card. 6630 uses a rsMMC (reduced size MMC) which operates on dual voltage.

Most of the times, if there are more then 2 operators in GSM 2 would be on 900 band and 2 on 1800. In Mumbai, BPL and Orange is on 900 (used to be when I used BPL) and Airtel was on 1800. While in Delhi, Airtel and Hutch were on 900 and Idea was on 1800. Am not sure about MTNL/BSNL. And in India CDMA is on 800 band. Check this link for GSM bands in India.

RIC works on Reliance postpaid too.

Buzz Arun. I think he would be more than happy to collaborate with you. <OFF-TOPIC> You started off with my signature and have bettered it by lepas and bounds. I am too tempted to snatch it from you.... </OFF-TOPIC>

DADP Self-testing Tools For J2me Applications
Puneet replied to StaticElectricity's topic in Data services
In the WAPOATTool there is an option for trusted sites, and that points to ossmobile.co.uk. It seems to be an online store for mobile applications. Further, in the same application there is a link for Downloaded applications, and by cliking on it I could see all the midlets/applications that have been downloaded on my mobile through R-world sometime in the past - including the color scroll bars. I guess this is a platform from OSSMobile to sell their mobile applications (games etc) through R-World. -
Do I see new status Icons. Thanks punbros. I know it can only be you

Firstly, NAV s**ks. its too high on resources. You should try your hands on NOD32 or AVG. Both are low and resources, and as effective as NAV. Also, Zone Alarm is not one of the resource friendly firewalls. Try Kerio or AVG. A combination of disk-cleanup, defrag and msconfig almost always works. And not to mention, RAM is the more important than processor speed for the usual working of the comp, maybe an upgrade to higher DDRAM would boost up your PC a lot.
