Hi! Please do not post the same message at more than one place on the forums. Further, any discussions on the "Algorithm" would be encroaching upon the grey area hence this topis is closed for further discussion.

Nice thinking buddy. I am sure RIMweb community will apprecaite this gesture of yours to keep the forum clean.

There is a difference between education and qualifcation. Dhirubhai Ambani - ill-qualified, yes he was but ill-educated, certainly not. Though, education and qualifiaction are often synonymous and a highly qualified person is often assumed to be highly educated too. But there are cases where a ill-qualified person is highly educated. A classical case from history is that of Akbar. He never had any formal education (meaning he was not qualified) but he was a highly educated person of his times.

Use PSMPlayer. I have successfully converted .dat files to .mid and .mmf

There is no harm in a commercial venture for Ringtones provided you have copyrights for the songs with explicit permission to convert them to ringtones and sell the ringtones for profit.

RD6000 is significantly different from the other LG Phones in a sense that it's R-World is powered by Brew technology, while the older phones were based on JAVA. It will take some time for the developers at Reliance to bring everything up on your phone. Patience is the name of the game.

Indiatimes ringtone service seems to be operational now. Check out the link: http://ringtones.indiatimes.com/RIL/website/index.jsp Though the charges are steep

Hi! I had downloaded some wallpapers from R-world onto my A-563, and now when I want to erase them for getting some new wallpapers, 2 wallpapers are simply refusing to go away. Clicking on "Erase" pops up a menu for confirming erase and then selecting "Yes" shows a information pop-up saying "Attention: Erased" but the wallpaper remains there itself. This has limited my choice of downloadable wallpapers to only 1 Is there a way out or if someone else had faced the same problem?

Got the phone working from the SSC @ Parel. I told the guy that the phone conked off while charging and I was sleeping - but I don't think he bought that He entered some numbers, through his software (O I would love to have that piece of software), and told me as this is the first time its free but will be charged from next time. Also, advised me to not to give my phone to somebody as the network settings had been erased by going into programming mode (as if I didn't knew ) The phone is working but it still shows PRL as None, What's a PRL for
-
Didn't use a software, just entered a few keystorkes which led me to a Testmode<M>, and there some more random keys led to FORMAT FLASHROM followed by REBUILD EEPROM and my phone was out of order. I hope the Samsung service center guys can fix it up. Will visit them tomorrow. A piece of advice, in case someone of you manages to get into the testmode, just press 002 and get out of it. Its dangerous to play with it until and unless you know what you are doing. I learnt it the hardway Will post the end result tomorrow, hopefully.

Easiest way out is to store the number twice in both the formats.

You have everything you will possibly need to join the moment Sir!!! And if you are stuck with some procedure in the threads I mentioned, please post the specific query and we would be more than happy to answer
-
I have managed to get rid of the wallpapers, along with my phonebook, messages, organiser info, ringtones and the phone has stopped working. In the version it shows PRL: None. That means my phone is now pretty much useless till the time I visit a Samsung Service center PS: Do not ask me how I managed to do it.

Tried that already, didn't work

Didn't work Guess I need to visit a Service Center

Ever bought a HDD? For HDD manufacturers 1GB = 1000000000 B and not even 1000MB, you should thank someone somewhere that atleast Reliance considers 1GB=1000MB

Whatever you do, do not try *488 that is used for deactivation of the mobile for number change. In case you want to try it out, you have been forewarned

Please go through the following mail to prepare your midi files: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?sho...findpost&p=5696 And to send them as MMS through R-World http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?sho...indpost&p=15386 And to read user experience about the above: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?sho...indpost&p=15387 And you will find plenty of ringtones here: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?sho...findpost&p=1844 The above posts should get you started. There are many alternatives to using 1st SMTP depending on your ISP.

Reliance Goes Electronic With Recharge In New Year
Puneet replied to silverline's topic in Reliance Communications
The facility is very much functional, only the retailer has to have his mobile provisioned for this service. The WW near my place has already stopped stocking paper vouchers and are using the e-recharge. Maybe this is happening at all WWs. However, they are using it in a very limited way - providing recharges only for paper voucher denominations - ever heard about flexibility - I guess NOT -
Hi! While visitng the WW today to make bill payments, one of the staff told me that some new rates for R-Connect are on the anvil. Though no formal announcements have been made, and no publicity material has come but its been there on email. Couldn't confirm it as the Store manager was out of office. Does anyone has any information? I will try to go again tomorrow and confirm the new rates.

Tata to Tata @ Rs. 99/- pm is a Push-to-talk service which is more like a walky talky rather than being a phone service. PTT and phone service both have their own pros and cons and they can't actually be compared. And Tata still needs to do a lot more in network coverage before we start comparing RIm and Tata Indicom Mobile in a true sense. Simply speaking they are still not at a level playing field.

maybe Reliance has taken a leaf from HDD manufacturer's books where 20GB is actually 20,000,000KB Atleast you are lucky that Reliance is considering 1GB=1,000MB, had it been 1GB=1,000,000KB you would have had to pay a lot more Though, most HDD manufacurers now mention this as a result of a few lawsuits they had to face in the western countries.

I dont think STD rates for DAPO will come down. As Reliance had not reduced the rates even in the last revision. We have been paying the same STD rates since May 2003, and ADC had been slashed for Mobile to landline calls once in between, though ADC was introduced on Mobile-to-Mobile calls in the same. Reliance actually wants us to quit DAPO Well, there is still a distance based component. Telephone tariffs comprise of four components (origination charge, transit/carrying charge, termination charge and ADC). And carrying charge which is paid to the NLDO is still absed on distance slabs. However, most mobile companies have already been offering single tariffs for whole of India.

There was no ADC on intra-circular mobile-to-mobile calls and that remains as such. There was an ADC of Re. 0.30 for intra-circular mobile-to-fixed calls which also remains same. There is no reduction in ADC on local/intra-circular level for mobile operators. On the contrary, Reliance now needs to pay Re 0.30 to BSNL for all calls originating from RIM and terminating on FWP/FWT/FLP which was retained by Reliance earlier. As for inter-circle calls, new ADC is Re. 0.30/min across all distance slabs. There is reduction of 20p for distance slab 200-500 km and a reduction of 50p for distnace slab >500 km. Again, ADC for calls from RIM-to FWP/FWT/FLT now goes to BSNL. This might change some calculations at Reliance and we might see a change in tariffs. But again, tariff calculation is again a complex process so we can just wait and watch :'( PS: Just finished reading the 69 page TRAI regulation
