Reliance Mobile Internet Data Plan Introduced Wef 7th Dec 2008
Puneet replied to @mitJ@in's topic in Data services
10p/10kb to 100p/10kb is 1000%. (100/10)*100% is the formula. Edit: Oops I was 2 minutes too late. -
Well its not true that with a 512 kbps connection you get 64 kbps speeds, if that was right one could have dragged all the ISPs to court and get good compensation. With a 512 kbps connection you do get 512 kbps but only 64 KB/s (you have done your conversions right numerically but the units also change with conversion). Same goes for all the conversions mentioned in your post. As for your qury regarding EVDo, they will advertise the speeds in kbps and mbps, and you will get those speeds but if you look at your download speeds they will be divided by 8 in KB/s. I know that doesn't answers your query a lot but I hope it still helps a little .

Did you say it said it was charging when you connected it to the PC through the USB cable? Can you post the version number of your phone? Press *#0000# on your phone and post the output you get here. If nothing else happens post that too.

All credit cards are the same apart from ABN AMRO. I have used Citi, ICICI, StanC, SBI and ABN Amro. Never had issues with any of the bankw hich was not sorted out amicably. Citi even made all my credit cards free for life as a favor after I had a small issue with them. You can go for any of them and its your personal choice, but DO NOT take ABN Amro.

I have used both TataSky and Dish TV and can vouch for the service quality of TataSky. Dish TV comes no where near the standards of TS. There is a visible difference in picture quality and the sound quality on both. Also, the alert services and menu services on TS actually work, while on Dish I am yet to see correct subscription information displayed correctly for once.

I used to have a ABN Amro CC, and there were some issues regarding the annual fees. It was waived but didn't reflect in their system and I started receiving calls from the recovery team. I called up their office in Gurgaon and had the matter resolved from the agents their, but the recovery calls still didn't stop. And the recovery agent was very rude, in spite of telling her that i have had the matter resolved and it will show up in the next statement she did not budge and talked nonsense. I told her I would cancel teh card and put it to her rude behavior and she was like go ahead and do it, and even refused to escalate my call. I maintained my composure through out the call never ever shouting or talking even a bit loudly with the agent. The very next thing I did was called up CC and asked them to cancel my card on account from rude behavior from their agents, my call was immediately escalated. They tried everything to retain me and my only condition was a personal apology from the rude agent, and a letter of action from the bank. They asked for a week, and within that week I received about 3 calls from the bank informing me that we are sorry for the behavior of our agent and it will not happen in future, but no sign of an apology from the agent herself. I finally asked them if the apology is coming or not and they said they cannot do that as it is against bank policy, so I went ahead and closed the card. End of story. Moral of the story: Do not subscribe to ABN Amros's CC ever.

Biggest Call Conference Chain, I Want To Attempt This Record.
Puneet replied to Sadikk's topic in General Technical Discussion
This is the time I miss being in India. Though if the final event happens when I am there I would sure join in. -
Well. if you want to have the passport for the sake of having a passport do it yourself. Do nto go for any agent etc as that would increase the cost and would not be of any real benefit. Visit passport.nic.in, they list out the documents required very clearly. You will need two proofs of residence, a proof for date of birth - which has to be a birth certificate issued by municipal authorities if you were born after 26/1/89 otherwise a school leaving certificate would do. Also, submit a proof of your highest educational qualification along with all marksheets (degree certificate and marksheets) so that you can get ECNR on your passport. Once you have all these documents ready go to https://passport.gov.in/pms/OnlineRegistration.jsp and fill in the form. Take a print out of the form, paste your photograph and sign at appropriate places. You can visit PP office 2 days after submitting the online application form. You will also need to fill a single page form available at the photocopy shop in the PP office which works as a check list or something. Now the difficult part, go and stand in the queue at PP office as early as you can. PP Office open at 9, but the queue starts forming at about 6 - 6:30, and if you are at the end of the queue it might be possible that you will not be able to submit the form that day. So it good if you cna go early. Take the requisite fees in cash. Stand in the line, submit your form at the counter and then go to the cash counter, deosit fees and you are done. You should get your passport in about 40 days. You might need to check with your local police station in between but that should not be that difficult. Normally, all police stations in Mumbai have a dedicated person dealing with passports, so you need to keep track with only one person and not many. I could not give more detailed description, hope that helps.

This thread seems to be moving away from topic. The house of TATAs has done more for India than any other company could ever think of. They have been the innovators and driving force of new industry since the beginning. They might have taken a back seat for a few years which can be attributed more to the license permit raj of the Indian government then anything else. And not just the economy, it was the house of TATAs which started/funded the research institutes for world class research in India (IISc/TIFR/TERI) to name a few. Apart form this TATAs understand their social responsibility more than any other company and do take affirmative action on that. Ambanis have a totally different story to tell - they might have done everything for profit and their means to achieve that can be questioned but still you cannot blame them for not bringing the best in technology to India. A look at the Jamnagar refinery and the Reliance Communication's pan India network rollout tell a story of their own. Its another matter that the quality of handsets on Reliance leave a lot to be desired. In the western/developed markets most of the advanced handsets are available pretty much for free on signing up for 18/24 months contract, but the Indian market is still not developed to sustain the contractual markets. PS: I am neither an employee nor a shareholder of either Tata or Reliance.

Sony Ericsson Conceptualizes Phone With Full-sized Usb Port
Puneet replied to coolrajiv's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I type A port doesn't means you can plug in your flash drive and start transferring the files, for that you need a USB host built in the phone too. The only advantage it offers is the ease of using the most popular USB cable for connecting you phone. If they build in a USB host then the story and the possibilities are completely different. -
Just check what a N95 could do with the right software installed. Can any other phone beat this? Oh I am in love with my N95 all over again. http://dailymotion.alice.it/video/x3f4o8_nokmote_tech

Could someone please get Handy Taskman and QuickOffice Premier 4.5 :-)

You must have an option of syncing with MS Outlook in PC Suite. Use that to transfer the contacts to MS Outlook, and then you can do whatever you want from MS Outlook. In case you do not want to play around with your existing contacts in Outlook, create a new contact directory by the name of "Mobile Phone Book" and use it for taking backups and/or exporting phone numbers.

Cracks/Keygens are not permitted on RIMweb.in. Further, who need a illegal copy of some software when a good alternative is available for free. Search for HPSMS Server on the forums. Closing topic.

Telecom Commission Approves Reliance Communication’s Gsm Foray
Puneet replied to sajokj's topic in Reliance Communications
96xxx xxxxx is reserved for pager services. Though I doubt anyone uses pager services anymore or if they are in service anywhere, but still the series is reserved for them. Reliance GSM will either use 93 or numbers from the 97/98/99 pool. I think it would have to use 93 as the GSM spectrum is coming under the already existing UASL license and it is alloted the 93 series under the same license conditions. Rest only God knows to what extent the Ambanis can bend to rules to their advantage. -
Shift to GSM and get Nokia N95 . It is all that you need and much more. Or maybe E90 would be still better option. This advice doesn't considers price of the handsets as a constraint.
