Considering the change in ADC regime for calls originating from Reliance(Mobile) network and terminating on Reliance (Fixed/Fixed-wireless) network, it would be interesting to look forward to the prepaid 440 and 200 RCV and also the unlimited intra-circle schemes on post-paid plans. Otherwise, there doesn't seems a lot of scope for drop in Reliance NLD call rates which are already low at Re 1 per min and Re 2 per min on India Cards.

Are you sure, In my case it was the duplicate one which charges the phone. The reliance one I bought doesnt charges the phone and it works fine. I doubt they will make multiple types of cables for single phone. Using RD 2030 23513 Forgot to mention I have Samsung A-563 and use the straight USB cable from Reliance.
-
Original cable supplied by Reliance also charges the phone, sometimes I have used the cable only to charge the phone in office when my charger is at home without r-connect/pc-sync. <insider info> Though, Reliance is planning to launch a cheap version of the cable pretty soon too. I am not sure whether its going to be another cable, or is Reliance going to slash the prices of the current cables only. </insider info>

Which Is The Best Linux Distribution
Puneet replied to deepu's topic in General Technical Discussion
Linux has n number of distros and each has its own advantages/disadvantages. The choice for best also depends on lots and lots of personal preferences. But any poll would be incomplete without gentoo, for more information please check out http://www.gentoo.org. Though Gentoo is not as easy to install as Suse/Mandrake, but it gives youa completely customized system tailor made for you. -
Well said!!! And I would say that same is the case with the Reliance Schemes most of the times

Well I can only say that no one can be more ill-informed then Reliance CC. How can one surf the net without any upload/download. Whenever you visit a site, and its text/graphics etc are transferred on to your computer, which the browser interprets and shows to you in a readable/presentable form, now all this transfer of data will constitute to download. Similarly, any request you send over the net to visit a page though miniscule will amount to upload. When you mail, or even post on these forums you send the data across that is upload. I hope that makes things a little clearer for you.

Get a GSK, and get on with life Otherwise, pain the CC/WW/Chairman's Office to get the negative amount. Ithas to provided to you afterall it has financial implications on you. And thenchoose between paying it up o getting a GSK.

In this case you could utilize the services of www.no-ip.com. Anyway, what kind of bandwidht will you get on mobile to host a server

Actually, there should not be any cribbing as far as SMS based services are concerned. But its the human tendency to not to be happy with what he is getting First we wanted SMS to Many service, and now that we have got it people want it for free Atleast its free for DAPO. PS: From January 1, 2005 PNR alert facility for railways willbe charged at Rs 3/- per enquiry, as that too is a SMS based application and R-World is onlya front end for ease (Source: R-World)

It was mentioned in the 93 application too that SMS charges as applicable to your plan. it was not explicit but was mentioned in the Help section.

The link for PTT has been there since ages on the Tata Indicom site under Buseness Services for Small Medium Business and Enterprise. The service till now was avaiable only to corporates by invitation and that too in Bangalore only. http://www.tataindicom.com/ptt/index.asp PTT was developed by Qualcomm on BREW platform as a value added service, and Tata Indicom was one of the first service providers in the world to implement it. They were atleast the first in India for sure http://www.tataindicom.com/pressroom/press_articles/ptt.asp PTT is also offered by Hutch/Orange. http://www.orange.co.in/ourservices/morese...s_push2talk.asp http://www.hutch.co.in/corpsite/home/push2talk.asp

If its an LG phone, most of the times what they do is copy your phonebook to PC using PC-Sync and then copy it back on the new phone.

A little bit OFF-Topic, but I remembered a story published last year on ToI related to what we do in our bedrooms, and as per Indian law almost everything would be illegal

The matter abt ring tones has already been conveyed .. No waivers will be given . All sms to 1237 , 8888 , and other TV competitions will be charged at Rs2/- Sms for DAPO are free thats limited to Domestic GSM / CDMA operators & 1234 service.. 21956 As Shabz said, SMS to third party services became paid for DAPO only from December 1, 2004. All SMS before that were free so infact if billing is from the first of the month, one can get waiver easily.

If you have to be in Mumbai only for three days, and basically use the handset for incoming only, you can go for the prepaid card of either orange or BPL if you have a GSM handset. orange pre-paid sim would cost jsut Rs 99/- and you will have to recharge it with a refill voucher, minimum being Rs 230/- which would be valid for 14 days. You would require just a Photo I card as identity proof for getting a pre-paid connection. Hope that helps.

Nope you get the waiver for rental only and only if you are in Plan 290 for FWP and NJ149 for RIM, and that too without any bundled talk minutes. If you want to have Plan 500 for FWP you pay 1500 + 500 and then you get 495 worth of talktime. PS: It pays to go through the document word by word :-)

The link you gave http://10.8.51.161/Infocomm/Rim/rim_8888.html is an intranet link of Reliance (10.*.*.* being a private Class A net) and is not visible from outside. Replacing 10.8.51.161 by www.relianceinfo.com produces error 404. Anyone from outside able to see the link?

This happened with me too. My original avatar was bigger then the permitted size. It was automatically resized and lost its animation. Then I resized it using Adobe Photoshop and relaoded it. And its been working fine since then :-) Just check out is thats the case here too.

Nope it means 650 + other charges, pliss to see that I have not included Monthly rental in the Joy 149 line. Plan charges are Rs 25/- for giving you the facility of prefential call rates on Reliance Network
-
Try to open http://bill.relianceinfo.com/webapp/portal/servlet/MMSLogin It will give you a login screen, though on login takes you to R-Bill
-
http://www.relianceinfo.com/webapp/Infocom...lease.jsp?id=94 Its known as Reliance India Card, comes in 2 denominations Rs 110 and Rs 220. You can find more details either on the above link or somewhere in these forums. If you are in DAPO and opt for Freedom Data Plan your monthly commitment will be your existing commitment + Rs 650. For all plans other than Joy149, minimum commitment is Monthly Rental + Plan Charges + CLIP (optional) +(Any other charges for optional services) + Data Charges ( Freedom=650/ Platinum = 1500) + 10.2% service tax. For Joy 149, minimum commitment would be: Plan Charges +(Any other charges for optional services) + Data Charges ( Freedom=650/ Platinum = 1500) + 10.2% service tax. I hope this clears your confusion. Pliss to go through the document that Arun posted, and everything should be clear to you.
-
Depends on your net usage, if you want to go for freedom/platimun plan you will have to go for a postpaid plan, as they are not available for pre-paid customers. And if your voice calls are going to be limited then Joy 149 is the best coupled with India Calling Card. Further you get discount on rent. Ultimately, the choice of plan is governed by many factors as in: average on-net and off-net talk times, monthly budget, etc.
-
From what I can get from the document, 650 is inclusive of Rs 149. Basically you need not pay monthly rental for Voice Plan. For all plans other than Joy 149 you have to pay the plan's rental. No discounts nothing
