  1. *412 & *4120 discontinued

As I said in another posting, all Reliance handsets are now pre-provisioned for data services. If you don't want to use R-Connect simply don't use it . And as the default plan is Zero-Rental you will not be charged anything, however if you have opted for freedom/platinum plan call CC and change your plan to Zero-Rental to stop getting billed for R-Connect. In case you are afraid of Reliance Billing system, call up CC and get it completely deactivated. I don't know the full form of MACD but have seen this term in Clarify, will try to find it out and let you know :'(

Gyanmandir (gm.ril.com) is a intra-net portal for Reliance employees, havn't had a chance to go into the details of the system since my friendly WW Store Manager is busy with BBC launch these days September 2002 to January 2003 Reliance Infocomm Gyanmandir Portal The Gyanmandir portal is designed and developed using Domino.Doc. All the documents of Reliance will be stored in this portal and the employees of Reliance will access the same, with due security aspects provided. Customized search is also provided in the system that helps in searching documents in any of the libraries. Links to the mail database and salary information is also provided in the site, so that it becomes a one-stop site that caters to all the needs of the employee. Role Involved in the analysis of requirements, design, coding and testing. Leading a team, distribution of work and coding. Environment: Domino.Doc/Domino, Lotus Notes, Domino Designer, Lotus Script, Java Script, HTML, Win 2000 http://www.google.co.in/search?q=cache:YoxvXUdIVWYJ:www.lavatech.com/resumes.nsf/0/FDB2BC5A13ED 924385256D870058C106%3FOpenDocument+gyanmandir+reliance&hl=en

Maybe the site will be available only after authentication, simple isn't it
  4. New Rates For R-connect

That means "All new customers" opting for data services and that includes all old customers who have never used data services. Only the standard plan and the Gold plan will not be available to any one joining the data services now. Further, all handsets are now pre-provisioned for data services (no more need of *412/*4120 - and the prepaid bug is fixed ), and everyone is in default plan. If you want to opt for freedom or platinum plan, give a call to CC or pay a visit to WW. The real adavantage is for Joy 149 customers who opt for freedom/platinum - they get to opt for Zero rental Joy 149 - meaning a rebate of Rs 149 every month on monthly rental.
  5. Students Suspended For Sexually Explicit Mms

In my opinion it is as much a security flaw as is all the span inundating our mailboxes these days. In case the spoofed MMS is of such nature that its sender has to be traced and booked, it can be done by tracing the MMS through the header information. we are using email so the headers have to be there, though we might not see them on the phone but they will be there on Reliance servers (though there are ways to circumvent that too )

  9. RIM Rings in Ideal Celebration Gift High-tech Camera Phone @ Just Rs6,999 Sleek, 95 gram handset with powerful flash Supports Hindi user interface and SMS DAKC (Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City), Navi Mumbai, November 17, 2004 Making celebrations even more colourful, India's largest mobile services provider Reliance Infocomm has added yet another sleek, high-tech camera phone to its handset basket at an aggressive price of just Rs6,999. The LG 6130, which barely weighs 95-grams, incorporates a high-resolution VGA Camera and is the first handset from Reliance to offer click-n-send MMS, enabling easy transmission of pictures, sounds and ring tones. It has a speakerphone and supports Hindi user interface and SMS. Its powerful flash can also be used as an emergency torchlight. "With the increasing popularity of RIM colour camera handsets, the latest LG 6130 is the ideal celebration gift. This competitively priced new mobile handset will no doubt add colour and excitement to the festival season," said Praveen Pasricha, Head - Sales and Marketing, Reliance Infocomm. "Our affordably priced, feature-rich colour handsets have already created a stir in the market with a large number of subscribers upgrading to camera phones, and the LG 6130 will ensure Reliance Infocomm's deeper penetration in the mid and high end segment," he said. The LG 6130 comes with 42 unique ring tones, with 16-chord polyphonic sound. Like most RIM phones, this handset is also data enabled and acts as a modem to enable Internet usage when connected to a computer. It is also Java-enabled to support R World features, including video downloads. Its two-MB picture gallery can save up to 25 pictures. The other key features of the handset include: 300 phonebook entries, 3-Way conferencing, PC sync to transfer phone book and organizer to a computer and Scheduler with 160 schedules. The handset is available across the Reliance WebWorld chain and channels for both post-paid and prepaid customers, with an exchange facility for their black & white sets.
  10. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/articleshow/928846.cms MUMBAI: CDMA subscribers can now change their handsets like their GSM counterparts. Currently, there is no active market for second hands as handsets have to be activated by the operator. But CDMA operator Reliance Infocomm is working on changing this. The company has set up a special team to spearhead the development of a second-hand market and is planning initiatives to boost the sales of second- hand handsets. The first initiative is being kicked off on November 22 with the launch of a ‘virtual sim card’. This card is available in a kit which is nothing but a scratch card with a unique activation code. Subscribers can activate any Reliance network compliant handset with the code and get a new phone number. Similarly, the handset can be deactivated. “Suppose a subscriber has moved to Delhi and wants to change his number, he can buy a new kit and get a new number, just as he would do if he were a GSM subscriber,” said S P Shukla, president (wireless products & services), Reliance Infocomm. The Reliance Get Started Kit costs Rs 220 and is pre-loaded with Rs 50 worth of talktime. The absence of a `sim-based’ activation system was one reason that CDMA handsets couldn’t be bought/sold off the shelf. Globally, there have been efforts to develop an alternative to the GSM sim card — RUIM. Reliance has chosen to go for a simpler system of ‘over-the-air activation’. Previously, GSM users have used this principle to activate the GPRS subscribers or download other applications directly onto mobile phones. CDMA growth has been hampered by the lack of an effective second-hand market. Unlike the GSM space where handsets are available for Rs 1,500-2,500, CDMA handsets could be bought from the operator only. Though new handsets are available for Rs 2,000-10,000, the second-hand handsets will be available for Rs 1,000. With the pre-paid option available to CDMA users, Reliance can now target the price-sensitive section of the market.
  11. SMS from Reliance Website

For RIM to RIm messaged Reliance does not need to pay any ADC, so it can actually provide the facility for free to RIM users bound only by network constraints (impose a monthly quota!). If they introduce it for other service providers too, am sure it would be billed. Also, features as group list etc might be still in development, we should be able to see them in sometime. As for the email for delivery reports, that's an added advantage - say you are out of India and need to send some SMS, login to Reliance, send the SMS and check the delivery reports on email :-) Sounds good ehhh... yes it would be your neighbour if you use his login and password, but then you would require the password to login which is only SMSed to the phone when you register. If you manage to con your neighbour to get his password his account is all yours :-)
  12. SMS from Reliance Website

Help says that every user has a particular monthly quota of SMS, and you can send as many SMS as your quota. If its Quota based then it has to be free, coz if its chargeable then it would be unlimited. Maybe Quota is dependent on your plan/usage... How to know that

  15. Reliance "Ownership Issues"

As far as I know Reliance Infocomm is managed by only by Mukesh and not Anil. Almost all directives that come to RIM emplyees are from Mukesh's office. So there willnot be much change as far as we as RIM users are concerned.puneet ..
