Are the server IP addresses region specific? I was in Jabalpur (MP) for about 10 days and I was not able to connect to internet on Opera. All network setup tests failed. It didn't work for a day on my return to Mumbai, but started working last night. Is the setting region specific or is WAP/Opera enabled only in certain cities?

Browsing On Pc With Reliance Mobile World
Puneet replied to HetalDP's topic in Technical / OS related
I was successfully using the UTS password till Saturday in Mumbai. But am not able to browse anything on the net since yesterday, and am currently in Jabalpur. The phone connects successfully, and the computer is registered on the network, but nothing loads thereafter. Even my WAP has stopped working since I came to Jabalpur. Is the UTS password region specific, or the WAP servers in MP/Jabalpur are not working? -
Is It Possible To Get D Same Number Activated On Two Handsets?
Puneet replied to drali's topic in General Technical Discussion
Technically - Yes. Legally - No. It would amount to cloning the handset, and though you want to do it for your own personal use, it is still illegal to close handsets. And all discussions regarding cloning are banned on RIMweb.in. Topic closed. -
Its a wild guess, but it might be possible that Reliance's caller tune server is playing games. Try to deactivate your caller tunes and see if the problem persists or goes away. On a personal note, I any day prefer the age old "tring tring" over some flashy caller tunes.

My parents old LG 2130 needs urgent replacement, and I was thinking of getting the new low-priced Classic handsets. But the new Classic phones available only with a new number (or so the WW people told me). Is there a way that I can tranfser my old number to the classic handsets?

How To Use Low-priced Classic Handsets For Old Nummbers?
Puneet replied to Puneet's topic in Other handsets
I did that, and the cheapest non-provisioned handset available without a new connection is for 1500 something. Anyway, I purchased a classic handset with the cheapest pre-paid gsk, and instead of activating the handset with the new GSK, I used a HCC to transfer my old number to the new handset, and then activated the GSK on my old handset. Total cost of transaction 968/- Everyone was happy this way, Reliance got to increase its subscriber number by one dummy customer who is never going to use the new pre-paid connection, and I got a cheap handset. -
@kams: Inbuilt minibrowser doesn't works for me either. Use Opera Mini it is much better and works too.

How To Use Low-priced Classic Handsets For Old Nummbers?
Puneet replied to Puneet's topic in Other handsets
I have to anyway terminate that number by end of July, and I need a handset only for 40 days or so. Classic serves my purpose if I can get it for Rs. 777 -
I actually deleted all the server IPs, connected java based R-world, and my WAP started to work again. Am not sure if having any of the steps I took worked but yes WAP is working since the morning for me.

Bsnl Offers Unlimited Internet On Cdma 2000 1x In Urban Areas Also.
Puneet replied to Dr.Gagan's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Doesn't provides roaming, and does not have a large coverage either. But is a catch at Rs. 250 wherever it will be available. -
Reliance does mentions the maximum download speed in the netconnect section of their website as 144kbps. Actual speed that you get is function of numerous other factors, and one of them is the phone. Most of the LG phones connect to computer using a serial interface and thus support a maximum speed of 115kbps, where as most of the Nokia (DKU-2) and Samsung phones have a native USB interface and thus can support the networks maximum speed. Search these forums and you will find a lot of discussion on data speeds on Reliance networks.

That was Reliance's "Value Roaming" introduced by Mukesh Ambani, and scrapped by Anil Ambani. Value Romaing was actually a trump in the arsenal of Reliance, as on some plans you could get incoming roaming virtually free (DAPO) and at some others at 40p/min (RIO399). I hope roaming tariffs move back to the good old "Value Roaming" times of Reliance.

^^^ They were supposed to start provided the government provides them with the already scarce spectrum. As Reliance is basically a CDMA operator, allotting GSM spectrum to Reliance is a policy decision yet to be taken by DoT. And going by the dilly-dallaying going on the new spectrum policy, I do not think this is going to happen soon.

SMS sending from PC Suite does not works with Nokia CDMA phones. Instead try the HPSMS server

Please check if your speeds are actually 15kbps or 15kB/s.

You can share the method, and leave the final decision to go with the tweak or not at the discretion of the phone owner.

On the top right hand side of the thread there is a button "Options" - Click on it and select Display Modes, Switch to: Standard. That should take care of your problem.

Could you please share the solution with us too

Used MobiMB to browse through the phone contents, and saw the GMail application installed in C:/predefjava/carrier. Am not sure about Nimbuzz but you can use MobiMB to browse the phone, and look for it.

9. Tata Sky also has online access to account. https://selfcare.tatasky.com/. you can recharge your account online with a recharge voucher (no need to call STD phone numbers) and order showcase movies as of today. And online recharge for any amount up to Rs 9999 with credit/debit card is in the pipeline too. Online plan changing should be accessible once variable plans are introduced, and as for number of channels - I guess no one watches more then 25 channels regularly. Discontinuing some Zee channels frees up the valuable transponder space for introducing some worthy channels, I hope we'll soon see some new channels on Tata Sky too.

Would have done that, but my Diego is not working since I upgraded to Vista
