Qatar doesn't has a CDMA network. And 6265 will not work there. But you can always gift it to me before you leave for Qatar

Reliance charges the same whether you use Nokia Browser or Opera Mini, and its fixed at 10p/10kb. The difference lies in the technology of the browsers. While the mini browser connects to websites directly, Opera connects through its own servers. Opera's servers fetch your request from the web, compress it and then serve it to your phone. And in the process reduce the no of bytes transferred, which directly reduces the total money that you are charged for the same page. You can try it out, open the same page in opera mini and mini browser, and check out the bytes transferred through data/browser logs. Mini browser doesn't works on my phone, so I don't know anything about the human/robot page that you get every time.
-
It also gives the data transferred using WAP and java based R-World. WAP access through opera would be charged on the R-World rates ie 10p/10kb, if you are not a membership plan. My billing date is from the 1st of the month, will confirm the charges once I get billed.

Gmail app works on my 6235. I installed it using the Minibrowser. The only problem is it is installed in the carrier subfolder (where all R-World applications are downloaded and installed), and the only way to access is through the mini browser. I have tried all my might to move it to Collection folder, but haven't succeeded yet.

1. Not unless you pay through your pockets to get it corrected from Nokia. 2. No. But you can use PC Suite and Diego. 2.1 Download from Nokia's website 2.2 Both Cable and Bluetooth 2.2.1 DKU-2/CA-53 (Check out from your user manual/or Nokia's website) 2.3 Not sure. 3. No (At least I do not know) 4. Yes. 5. Yes.

Gateway Settings: IP Address1: 012.025.203.032:00080 In addition to that, I had used Diego to modify the homepage to http://wap.rworld.co.in Another Update: I was able to install and successfully run GMail's mobile application from the mini-browser. However, it is installed in the sub-folder C:\predefjava\carrier and am unable to use it from the Phone's Menu. Am still struggling to move to C:\predefjava\applications. Any ideas how to go about it?

And now the inbuilt minibrowser is working too - including the WAP based R-World and internet browsing. It was working and is gone now. Error 403 returns to Mini Browser. I just hope that Opera keeps working.
-
Charges should be under r-world. We'll come to know only when the bill comes. Mine is still a good 25 days away :-). And who wants to open WAP sites when we can view full sites. Am loving posting from the phone. :-)

The first post from my phone. Finally, WAP is working on 6235. I guess ADA is at least good for something finally.

WAP is working on 6235 now. Hurray I had Opera Mini installed on my phone since ages, but it never worked, and the default browser doesn't works either (Error 403: Forbidden). I was just playing with my phone today, and tried my luck with Opera Mini - and voila it works. Will post a reply to this from my handset soon. Checkout guys maybe its working for you too.

Google Launches Tisp (beta) - Free Wireless Broadband Access For All !
Puneet replied to Arun's topic in The Lounge
Google had launched GMail on April 1 too, and most of the people at that time thought it was an April Fool joke But this one sure looks joke, and if it isn't - then Google sure managed to make one out of me -
Please serach the forums before posting. There are plenty of posts regarding RUIM, and the most comprehensive can be found here. No, you cannot use GSM with your Nokia 6585. Closing topic.

Sharing popular movies would definitely go against RIMweb.in's policies.

Check out EDGE, 3G, and 4G on wikipedia. -
Get it from Mulund then, what's the problem. I can help you get it from Powai if you want.

Net Monitor is a feature of handset and is used to monitor the network parameters like signal strength etc. The feature can be activated by certain key presses, and you might have activated it by mistake or somebody else might have done it for you.

Saw an Ad today in Times of India (Mumbai Edition) or was it Mumbai Mirror for a LG DVD player for Rs 8990/-. It had all the functions that you asked for. including USB+. I'll confirm it in the afternoon and post. LG does makes decent DVD players.

Uninstall everything related to nokia - PC Suite, Netconnect drivers. Restart your computer, install diego, and then reinstall PC Suite etc etc.

Diego will not work for GSM phones. Its designed only for CDMA phones. For GSM phones you need phoenix.

Reliance Communications ties up with BSNL for Toll-Free Services
Puneet replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Communications
1-800 is toll free. 1-860 is charged local. Most probably ING Vysya and Dish TV have subscribed to Relaince 1-800 services (http://www.reliancecommunications.co.in/Communications/broadband/brbd_1800.html), and that is why you are able to call from Reliance phones. -
Roaming Charges Are Set To Fall By February 2007
Puneet replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
We do not have better rates, most of the Reliance Postpaid customers are at a loss, instead of home tariffs in roaming, and R2R STD rates for incoming, most of us would be paying a much higher charge while roaming. Consider my incoming calls were more or less free as am in DAPO but will have to shell out Rs 1.75 per minute. And my parents use One India Plan, instead of Re 1 per min on roaming now they have to pay almost double that amount. This s**ks. And this move takes away the last advantage that Reliance still had over other GSM players, and coupled with the pricey handsets without much to choose from, I believe Reliance is now at a gross disadvantage. At least I would not recommend Reliance to anyone now. -
Roaming Charges Are Set To Fall By February 2007

Reliance is fast going down the drain. Though I am a wastewater engineer, I refuse to treat the sewage in which Reliance is flowing and will let it flow to be dumped in the Arabian Sea. Can we take out a morcha somewhere with AA Murdabaad!!! I guess Vodafone is the only hope left, but with the high acquisition charges it paid to HTIL, I doubt it would be able to do much.
