^^^^^^^^^^ The reason I asked for clarification is because I read 2-3 articles about the launch of the phone but not even in one article was it mentioned that it was a CDMA phomne. And also the link given in one of the websites was the link to the samsung GSM phones. Was a little confused http://www.techtree.com/India/News/Samsung_Corby_Pop_Officially_Announced/551-108346-893.html

Tata Indicom Launches Call India 149 Plan
vvinayakpai replied to sougatadc's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Good cal rate but the rental is sheer waste of money. I mean no full utilisation talktime etc which is being offered by most telecom companies in order to retain customers. -
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Are you sure this is the CDMA version?

Rate Plan U Would Like O Go, If Ur Existing Operator Provide All Plans
vvinayakpai replied to me_saket's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
I would any day prefer RCOM's 50ps scheme. Because, My calling pattern is such. I make very few calls and generally it is for a longer duration. The 1re/3 min call rate is really disadvantageous for short calls spanning less than a minute. Regarding Uninor, I would refrain from trying out any new operator for at least six months from the date of commencing services, after my terrible experience with RCOM GSM. Also, I feel that the divide between these operators is very flimsy. For eg. if you talk one hour on 50ps scheme you pay Rs. 30, on per second you pay rs. 36 and for the 1re/3 mins you pay rs. 20. Agreed that all calls do not last for such long durations but still for people like me who make lesser calls a combination of the 50ps scheme + Rs. 80 voucher works great wonders. I would definitely avoid Tata's pay per call, because Reliance has taught me for a change to hate conditions Also 1ps/2 seconds is a strict no no becuase i dont prefer paying rentals. -

Vodafone (mumbai) Introduces Unlimited Sms Pack And Night Call Plan
vvinayakpai replied to Mukeshlst's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Its the kind of impression these companies make in the minds of the people. I dont like Airtel personally, but I cannot deny the fact that their advertisements are always bang on target and very meaningful. I still remember those beautiful ads, like the one without boundaries one, and especially the one with a young kid calling up his dad complaining about his mother, and also the recent one, where the kid gives his dad's mobile number to all his freinds. It is not always necessary that you have the lowest tariff to promote yourself. Sometimes you must have the knack to market your products in a more efficient manner which does the trick in the long run. Thats exactly why Airtel outnumbers any other operator!!!!!!!!!! -

Uninor Launch On December 4, 2009
vvinayakpai replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Today in the Bangalore edition of the New Indian express, Uninor has published a full page adveertisement regarding their tariff details etc. I came across a very interesting information. The followig quote is from the advertisement. A prepaid lifetime validity subscription will be discontinued if there is no activity (like incoming/outgoing voice, SMS, VAS, data usage, recharge, any balance adjustment/decrement etc. excluding any incoming voice/SMS activity from application) for a continous period of 180 days Does the above mean that unlike most other operators wherein a minimum recharge of Rs. 200 is necessary every 6 months, in Uninor is it enough to just have a single incoming/outgoing call every 180 days to keep the account active?
