Mnp Between Reliance Cdma And Reliance Gsm?
vvinayakpai replied to s207's topic in Reliance Communications
I dont think that even internal transfers/change of technology by retaining the same number would be permitted before the implementation of MNP. Actually, earlier Reliance was asking for such a concession that their CDMA customers be allowed to change to Reliance GSM if they choose so by retaining the same number, and also vice versa even before the implementation of MNP. But they could not garner support from any industry player including the Tatas who had opposed any such move. Also it is a distant possibility because of one more reason. Reliance GSM is operating on a pan India basis with only start up spectrum. They have not recieved any additional spectrum because the allotment of spectrum has been put on hold. Now if they allow such portability between CDMA to GSM it is going to have a disastrous effect on their networks. I dont think they would attempt it unless they are confident of being able to manage the extra load -
Voted!!!!!! All the best!!!!!!

^^^^^^^^^^^ But i must say it really looks nice!!!! Especially when compared to its peers from LG in the same price bracket. As you mentioned reliablility of the phone is in question!!!!!!!!!!

Regarding that error code you got, acyually as a matter of fact I see it on my BSNL connection also sometimes, especially when i switch off and on the phone. But there is no problem with the network. Coming to your issue, call up cc and ask them to file a complaint and obtain the complaint number. And one more thing, when you are filing a complaint, please dictate the complaint to the representatives else they will write all sorts of cock and bull stories in the complaint and your problem will never be solved. If they do not take your complaint then write to the nodal officer then write to them including the issue that CC was not ready to lodge a complaint. Write a letter to the nodal officer along with the complaint number allocated by the cc if they register a complaint.

Tata Docomo Launches Rs. 29 Stv In Karnataka
vvinayakpai posted a topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Tata docomo has introduced a new coucher in Karnataka which offers calling for rates as low as 10ps/min. The voucher is worth Rs. 29 and offers 18000 seconds free which can be utilised by calling any Tata DOCOMO / Tata Indicom (Mobile) / Virgin Mobile across the State. The voucher has a valifity of 30days Source: http://www.tatadocomo.com/special-tariff-vouchers.aspx -
Sometimes in Bangalore also i experience trouble in connecting to customer care when i dial *333. At the same time when i dial 1800100333 it goes through, hence i have never taken the issue seriously. Another option is STD code of your state followed by 30333333. But *333 and 080-30333333 are both the same hence no use. Calls to 30333333 are not charged. I have checked it in Bangalore circle. Please verify for your respective circles.

Tata Docomo Launches Rs. 29 Stv In Karnataka
vvinayakpai replied to vvinayakpai's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Rs. 29 voucher not available for maharashtra and goa circle If you are from Maharashtra and Goa circle, forget 25. Go for 99 wherein you get 5 lakh seconds free calling only to tata docomo. 5 lakh seconds would be divided over a period of 12 months, that means you would get 5lk/12 seconds i.e.41700 seconds (695 minutes) per month for 12 months. Unused minutes would lapse at the end of the month. -
Best Cellular Network In India
vvinayakpai replied to abkumar's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
My vote would definitely go for RCDMA. In bangalore i have not faced any major problems with their networks. Excellent coverage too. They are also improving rampantly. I used to get very poor coverage (one bar only) at ont of my friends place, but from the last one month i have noticed that the problem has been solved and am getting full coverage!!!!!!!!! Also, in Kerala at one of my cousins place due to network drop i used to experience call drops. But now that problem too has been solved. Excellent -

Atlast Bsnl Cuts Roaming Rates By 70 Per Cent, Roam At 1paisa
vvinayakpai replied to ravi_patent's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I agree with you 100% that BSNL is currently one of the underperforming telcos in the country. There was a time especially under the previous telecom minister Mr. Dayanidhi Maran, when BSNL had ushered in a lot of freshness and innovativeness in the way they functioned. That was one of the main reasons that had attracted me to take a BSNL postpaid connection at that point of time and added to the fact that BSNL was very transparent in issues like billing etc. The Customer service centres were opened for bill payments/complaints etc even on holidays. Also, the coverage was the best when compared to the then incumbents like Vodafone(then Hutch), Bharti Airtel etc. But now gradually the network coverage has deteriorated drastically epecially in Bangalore. I have taken the connection on roaming to Kerala as well where i find that the network is slightly better even though it is not as bad as bangalore. The worst problem is during peak times when a error message is continously displayed Error in Connection -

I really dont know whether this is a relevant question after seeing the initial tariffs of Uninor, but still let me take the liberty to ask. Anyone taken/planning to take a Uninor connection? -
Atlast Bsnl Cuts Roaming Rates By 70 Per Cent, Roam At 1paisa
vvinayakpai replied to ravi_patent's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
At last the sleeping giant has woken up!!!!!!! Makes no difference to me because i was forced to surrender my mom's BSNL postpaid and take a new RGSM prepaid connection after their terrible network coverage in Bangalore city. Call drops, bad call quality, you name it and it was there!!!!!!!!!! Worst thing was that after 6PM in the evening until 8PM it was impossible to make calls due to network congestion. -
Videocon V1302 [gsm+gsm] Dual Standby
vvinayakpai replied to savramesh's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Excellent!!!!!!!!! The features listed are simply superb. The only apprehension would be regarding actual standby and talktime. But on the face of it it looks fantastic, especially with the 1800mAH battery. Waiting for more updates with respect to overall usability. -

Uninor Launch On December 4, 2009
vvinayakpai replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
i appreciate their guts to launch such tariffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a doubt. On the website it is mentioned that their license period is till 28/11/2014 and extendable for further period by Government of India. How did MTS get a license period valid until 2028? Also, a company like RCOM which started opertions much before Uninor, has a license expiry date of 20/7/2021? Does this mean that they have paid Rs. 1651 crores for just 6 years assuming that they got license and the spectrum in 2008? -

Uninor launches GSM services across seven circles in India Uninor services launched in India 2009-12-03 09:51:58 - London, December , 03, 2009 (Fornebu/New Delhi 3 December 2009) Telenor Group's Indian mobile operation, Uninor, today announced the launch of its mobile services in seven Indian telecom circles, making it the largest single day launch in the telecom history. On the first day of service Uninor will cover a footprint of close to 600 million people. Uninor services were launched simultaneously in the circles Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh East, Uttar Pradesh West and Bihar (including Jharkhand), making it the widest coverage any operator has launched within India. The launch of Uninor services happens eight months after Telenor Group finalized the transaction with Unitech Group and made the first investment into Uninor on 20 March. "It has been highly satisfying to witness today's launch of Uninor services across India. By providing quality mobile services, I strongly believe that Uninor will bring about a significant and positive impact in the daily lives of its customers in India", said Jon Fredrik Baksaas, CEO and President of the Telenor Group. "Establishing a mobile operation of this scale in record time is truly an impressive achievement. I am confident that Uninor will keep the same high momentum going forward to become a preferred provider of mobile services to the Indian population and a significant mobile operator in the Indian market. The Telenor Group is committed to this operation, and will back Uninor with our capabilities and vast experience from other markets to support a successful entry in India" "With launch in seven circles and roaming agreements in place for the rest, we have started our service in India on day one as a pan-Indian national operator. This is a proud achievement of a committed and talented team. While our launch today is indeed a milestone in a longer journey to become a significant operator in India, we are delighted to have made such a strong start," said Stein-Erik Vellan, Managing Director of Uninor. A model for future telecommunication operations Uninor has established an organizational model, utilizing the unique extend of infrastructure sharing and large degree of outsourcing services available in India. With extensive use of outsourcing, Uninor has created a fast, flexible and efficient model for future growth. "The Indian organizational model represents a new and innovative approach to setting up a light and cost-efficient telecom operation", said Mr. Jon Fredrik Baksaas. "I believe that Uninor's organizational approach will make them faster and more agile than a traditional mobile operator". India, with its population of 1.2 billion people, represents a market with high degree of diversity between the different regions. To cater for different needs, Uninor has established a decentralised and empowered organization with 11 regional hub offices to get closer to their customers. In less than 1 year, Uninor has recruited more than 1800 employees that now are trained, prepared and inspired to meet the Indian customers demand. "Uninor aims to provide the young ambitious Indian customers with services that help them in their daily life, and support them in fulfilling their ambitions", said Stein Erik Vellan. "Our regional offices allow us to listen to our customers' needs, and respond and act differently in each region based on our local presence and knowledge." The Uninor launch also represents the largest ever distribution at launch by any operator in India. From the start, Uninor will be retailed at over 210,000 points of sale through close to 1000 exclusive distributors in the seven circles. Uninor services will also be available in 17 exclusive company owned shops and 50 exclusive franchisee shops. "Ab mera number hai" Uninor will leverage from Telenor Group's established marketing and design framework. As in several other markets where the Telenor Group is present, the brand follows Telenor's brand strategy, combining the global position of the Telenor Group with a distinct local identity. Uninor's tagline is "Ab mera number hai" or "My time is now", set to target the young and ambitious individuals. Celebrating the launch in the streets across India The day following the launch Uninor will make a big impact in the streets across India, when close to 30 000 persons join the "blue wave"- parade to celebrate that Uninor services are available to the Indian people. Vodafone Reduces Roaming Rates, pay Per Second While Roaming
vvinayakpai replied to Mukeshlst's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Confirmed from their website. For availing their 70ps per minute roaming offer for karnataka subscribers, a recharge of Rs. 133 has to be done. It offers a validity of one year and all local, STD calls charged at 50ps/min irrespective of network. Roaming irrespective of network charged at 70ps/min, for incoming outgoing etc as long as you are travelling on the vodafone network. Also, free 100 local sms free every day. National sms charged at 50ps/min Rs. 133 all for a validity of one year? After one year what happens? Also, what about the subscribers who had recharged for all local, STD at 50 ps for a recharge amount of Rs. 119? 1.5ps per second works out to be 90ps/min. Is 70ps a different option for customers? What is the enrollment fee for the 70ps/min scheme? -

OFFTOPIC In Pakistan, Telenor charges customers to acess their IVR and also to speak to their Customer Relationship Officers "Dear Prepaid Customers, from 3rd December onwards Rs. 0.25 for IVR and Rs. 1.00 (Exclusive of taxes) for connecting to Customer Relationship Officer (CRO) will be charged." ^^^^^^^ The possibility cannot be ruled out totally. Uninor has its own NLD network and also a tie up Wireless-TT Infoservices Ltd (WTTIL), the tower arm of Tata Teleservices Ltd, and Quippo Telecom Infrastructure Ltd (QTIL). They might start out in a more aggressive nature than mentioned on their website.
