  1. The All New Rimweb!

Excellent! Now rimweb has a refreshing new look!
  2. Tata Docomo Launched

Wonderful analysis Mr. Ramesh. Easy to understand and a very effective way of explaining the facts.
  3. Bad Network Quality!

What I did was, I sent a mail to the appelate wuthority with a copy sent to the nodal officer. And I sent the same mail at least five times to the appelate authority and the nodal officer. Only then did they respond. Earlier I was sending single messages to appelate auth and nodal officer and no reply and also no action was being taken. Had i done this earlier, hopefully my network issues would have been rectified earlier.
  4. MNP : Rules And Regulations

Once MNP will come in existance, ON NET concept will change entirely, then one has to say on which network he is on - if opted for MNP. I have seen business cards, where they mention network name for their phone numbers. Another solution would be a recorded message which would greet every caller before the phone actually ringing, saying something like "You are trying to call a RGSM number" or something like that
  5. ^^^^^^^^^^ Its any network
  6. Bad Network Quality!

After six months of complaining, RCOM has today accepted their fault regarding faulty coverage and assured me that the problem will not occur again as the problem has been rectified. Now even indoors I am getting full network reception and until now (i made and recieved a few calls), it seems that call drops and poor network reception is a thing of the past. Even though it is a little too early to comment. Yesterday after recieving my mail and doing the initial checkups, I was without a network from 10PM(14-7-2009) to today 5PM(15-07-2009). Now coverage is excellent.
  7. I dont think this is going to be the norm among all operators. I was going through the tariffs offered by Mts in Rajasthan and observed that they are offering a pack of Rs. 750 which reduces STD call rates to 70ps/min for lifetime. This 149 M saver is just a gimmick to latch onto customers in the newer circles where they are providing mobile phone services. I mean Rs. 750 for a full fledged network and Rs.149 for a newer "L" board network, thats a lot of difference. If they offer similar services in Rajasthan as well where they have a fulll fledged network in place, then we may see the other operators following suit.
  8. Reliance GSM - Problems ! Problems ! & Problems!

Is cell info display functional on RGSM?
  9. Bad Network Quality!

I shot off a few letters to the Reliance nodal officer and the appelate authority regarding the poor GSM connectivity in my area and to my surprise now, the network has improved considerably. The voice clarity has improved three fold and also I am able to check my balance unlike earlier times when I had to make repeated attempts to check my balance just once. Though I have made up my mind not extend my validity which expires on 18th July, 2009. Even though I am not happy with RGSM and have criticised it in my previous posts, hearts of heart I want them to be the number one.
  10. Tata Docomo Launched

Is cell info display functional on Tata Docomo network?
  11. RCOM GSM has introduced Rs. 24 e-recharge which ofers a talktime of Rs. 20. The reduced call charges would be R-R Local - 30ps/min (only mobiles) R-Others - 60ps/min(Offnet + Onnet landlines) STD= 1 Re/min R-R (local)night calling at 5ps/min And to avail this offer there is an additional rental of Re. 1 per day (from core balance) in addition to the Rs. 24 recharge.
  12. Bad Network Quality!

Are there any other Indian mobile operators who provide mobile services through CHinese equipments???
  13. Tata Docomo Launched

^^^^^^^ The cc representative you spoke to might have been poached from RCOM I find it really hard to believe though. The advertisements in todays times of india, bangalore edition, clearly mentions that Tata Docomo clearly reserves the right to modify the tariff.......etc. This gives me all the more reason to disbelieve the cc
  14. Tata Docomo Launched

Dear friend Bhargav, I was reading through your earlier posts and happened to see the post regarding the printing mistake commited by Tata Docomo. I really believe that it is not a printing mistake, and it only implies that the per second pricing is only introductory in nature. I really understand that Tata Docomo is a new network and my comments maybe considered unecessary, especially considering the fact that Bhargav is a die hard fan of Tata. I have reasons to believe that this is an introductory offer because, if i remember right, there was another operator who offered per second billing in India. I think it was shyam sistema when they were offering services under the brand name "Rainbow". That was discontinued and they entered the bandwagon of per minute basis. But i definitely applaud Tata for the bold step taken by them in implementing per second billing on a new network. I only hope that the per second billing is here to stay!!!!!!!
  15. Bad Network Quality!

RGSM is pathetic in Bangalore. Initially I was facing the problem of very poor quality network reception. Even now I recieve network onlr a maximum of 4-5 hrs in a day. Now the lastest situation is that even during these 4-5 hours when the network coverage is full, incoming calls are not functional. From the calling phone I get the error message that the phone is out of reach but when I check the RGSM, it shows fuull coverage. Added to that, *333 is not accessible from my GSM phone. The line gets automatically disconected. So nowadays I am forced to call from my RCDMA and then lodge complaints against the RGSM network. I have written to the nodal officer, lets see what happens. But I have lost all hope and I would be bidding gooodbye to RGSM on 18th July, 2009 when my initial 6months validity expires.
  16. Many companies have toll free numbers for their services beginning with 1800. Are these toll free from only landlines or are they toll free from mobiles as well? Fr eg. BIG TV- 18002009001 Dataone- 18004241600 etc.. The reason I ask you is that when I called from my RGSM and RCDMA I was not charged for calling these numbers. I want to know if there is something in writing with which I can authenticate this information. Because tomorrow I dont want reliance to deduct my balance after making 1800 calls. Because until today I was under the impression that these numbers were toll free only from BSNL landlines
  17. Excellent explanation!! Thanks Just to add on, i think 200 code belongs to RCOM, because most of their toll free services carry this code
  18. Tata Docomo Launched

^^^^ Congrats dude!!!!! That was really fast.
  19. Rgsm New Std Vouchers

I have lost hope with RCOM GSM. Absolutely pathetic network and pathetic schemes.
  20. "Launch" according to them means Soft launch. A soft launch is just to assure the government that the roll out obligations are being followed (10% coverage within a year from the date of issuance of spectrum). This will help them in avoiding paying a fine to the government.
  21. Tata Docomo Launched

Thanks Bhargav. Hoping that Tata Docomo would be launched in Andhra Pradesh as well at the earliest.
  22. I wonder if they are actually preparing for a commercial launch any time soon. Because when i search for mobile networks manually, I dont see any new operators (other than Tata, RCOM and Aircel) in Karnataka.

  24. Tata Docomo Launched

At the launch of Tata Docomo, it was said that the South Indian circles would go live within a fortnight from the day the Chennai services were launched (Refer to the first article in this topic). If that deadline is to be met, Tata will have to launch their services in Puducherry, AP and Karnataka by July 8th, 2009 Keeping fingers crossed and expecting the Karnataka launch very soon
