  1. What about calling 1800 numbers while roaming?
  2. Thanks to the GSM launch Reliance Communications has made it to the top position. But I am surprised about Reliance telecom though.........
  3. Tata Docomo Launched

A late launch is fine as long as it does not repeat the same mistakes commited by RCOM GSM.
  4. Tata Docomo Launched

I was going through the tata docomo website especially the recharge voucher section under the Kerala circle. I did a small calculation: 1 rupee of talktime offers a talktime of 100 seconds A recharge of 101 e-recharge offers a taltime of 91.6 So Rs. 91.6 offers a talktime of 9160 seconds So it means that for Rs. 100 you are offered a taltime of 9160 second. Cost per second actually incurred is Rs. 100*100/9160= 1.091ps/sec When u calcualte on a minutely basis, i.e 1.091*60 secs= 65.4 approx 65ps/min which is comparable to the rates offered by other operators. I calculated for the Rs. 10 e recharge as well and that gave me a per minute call rate of 84 ps/min. But the main advantage offered by Tata is the per second pulse rate. I think per second pulse rate steals the show. It was a totally new and unexpected concept.
  5. Dot Willing To Hike 3g Bid Price

Initially when I heard the word 3G, I thought it was associated with speed and fastness. But now I have learnt that the synonym for 3G is red tapism.
  6. Tata Docomo Launched

I am from Bangalore and have been trying to access the DOcomo customer care from my BSNL landline and my Reliance Mobile, but in vain. Maybe the POI's of few operators are activated as on date. Still waiting for the official launch in Karnataka
  7. Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

Exactly!!!!! I am of the opinion that MNP is +ve for all consumers. Wait for some time and experience the tariff changes as and when introduced by ur existing operator after the lunch of MNP. If there is no change in quality of service and quality of tariffs then go ahead and make a decision to change the operator.
  8. Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

Quality of service? Do you you mean the time taken? Time taken for the change in the operator to actually be implemented on the number. The reason I say this is that initially many customers might opt for MNP and due to the huge rush, operators might falter in welcoming the new customers onto their network on time.
  9. Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

Definitely MNP will be implemented from September 20th, the set deadline. But initially, I am not sure about the quality of service to be expected.
  10. Tata Docomo Launched

Hey RGSM is also rewriting telecom technology (but in the -ve aspect) After experiencing RGSM I was of the opinion that new operators must be let aside for at least a year before they start seamless connectivity and call quality. But after reading the few posts about the Tata Docomo success story, my hands are itching to lay my hands on a Tata GSM sim card as soon as it is launched in Karnataka.
  11. Airtel Lifetime Prepaid For Rs1

And to say that just around a year ago we used to spend approx 199 for Lifetime validity.
  12. Query about Free Std Calling Packs And Std Sms Packs

any day i would prefer RCDMA to RGSM. It is a tried and tested network unlike the GSM which is still in testing phase
  13. Mere words are not enough. Implementation is the key
  14. Tata Docomo Postpaid Plans

Bhargav hats off to you!!!!!!! Wonderful explanation with proof!!!
  15. Tata Docomo Launched

Tata docomo has an advantage unlike Reliance. Docomo manufactures great handsets so as and when these handsets are introduced in India, I am sure the market dynamics would change drastically. Tata has made the right step in its JV with Docomoby introducing the right tariffs, coverage etc. Now is the time to retain such customers and deliver what they promise
  16. Tata Docomo Postpaid Plans

Definitely I agree that round one has gone undoubtedly to Tata Docomo. With the possible launch of docomo handsets in India, I am sure that we consumers are going to benefit the maximum!!!!!!!!!
  17. Tata Docomo Launched

I really wish the TATA DOCOMO services are launched in Karnataka at the earliest. But I think there might be a short delay and the launch may not happen in the next 2-3 days as expected, as the customer care number (9036012345) is not reachable from BSNL, RCOMGSM and CDMA, Vodafone etc. Not tried from TATA INDICOM though. There might be interconnection issues else at least the customer care number would have been functional.
  18. Tata Docomo Launched

Is'nt the rental on the higher side than expected?
  19. Mts Lifetime Sim @ 49

Ramesh, has the indoor coverage issue been resolved?
  20. Reliance Mobile introduces tariff plan for GSM prepaid customers Category ยป Business Posted On Friday, June 05, 2009 Bhopal, June 5: Reliance Communications, the Number 1 mobile operator of MPCG has introduced a new tariff plan for its GSM prepaid customers under which for only Rs 45 per month they can make calls anywhere in India for just Rs 0.50. The tariff voucher is available for Rs 16 with a validity of 60 days, said Santanu Chakrabarty, Regional Head, MP, CG and Orissa circles, Reliance Communications. Once the voucher is activated Rs 1.50 per day will be deducted from the core balance of the customers, which comes to Rs 45 over a month. Under the plan for the first minute the calls will be charged at the arte of Rs 1 for local calls and Rs 1.50 for STD calls. However, from the second minute onwards the call rate will be only Rs 0.50 for any call anywhere in India. This is the best tariff plan available in MP for Reliance GM prepaid customers, he added. 21. Tata Docomo Launched

Better than giving the best offers on a non existent network(RGSM), it seems TATA's have done their homework well and are more focussed on quality right from the word go. But even now it is too early to write off RGSM or to upgrade Tata GSM as a good buy. Only time will tell and this topic would gather steam once the pan India launch is in place. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for a better launch and reception than RGSM.
  22. Tata Docomo Launched

Wonderful!!!! Something for Reliance to learn from
  23. 500 Min R2r Free Every Month....

The best option would be to write a letter to the Nodal Officer and the Appelate authority asking for clarity as you are not happy with the information provided by the custome care executives. Take a print out of the reply (if in case they reply) and keep it for your reference. Then go ahead and recharge as per their directions. If in case of any discrepancy, keep a print out for your reference.
  24. Loop is a non issue among the new entrants. I somehow hate the Essars and this would be the last mobile connection I would consider even if they offer great "freebies"
  25. Tata Docomo Launched

If reliance plans another hungama with their "sub-standard" GSM network, they are sure to see red on their balance sheets after MNP is introduced
