  1. Samsung Guru 559

How is the performance of the phone? Is the battery as good as promised?
  2. Low Battery Backup with Reliance?

Your issue might be related to spectrum shortage faced by most operators in Mumbai and Delhi. Hopefully TRAI gives out its recommendations regarding issue of additional 2G spectrum and this problem is sorted out at the earliest. IN bangalore, there is absolutely no problem with RCDMA (TOUCHWOOD)
  3. Samsung Guru 559

Called up Samsung CC at around 12:30PM and got the information about the phone. They did not have the details regarding the price because it was a newly launched phone. I thought of giving it a try once again and called them up at around 4PM. This time, much to my surprise I was informed that there is no such phone at all. I also provided the reference number which was given to me during my earlier conversation but it was of no use. Really surprised!!!!!!!!! Any information about Samsung outsourcing their CC to RCOM????????????

Desperately waiting for more information about this phone. Was really amazed by the battery backup!!!!!!!!! My LG RD 2650 is giving in after 4 years. Looking for a urgent replacement. Any more information regarding this phone? The bangalore webworld and CC guys are totally unaware of this phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Query On 59 And 77 Voucher

I dont think they would commit the foolish mistake of withdrawing this offer especially when new competition is coming into the fray, like Videocon and Etisalat(very soon) Also, I think Reliance likes playing this game of giving a last date and then extending the offer. I remember, in 2006 when I bought my Reliance CDMA connection I was informed that there was an offer of Rs. 201 which offered full talktime and that the offer was valid until June 30th, 2006. I thought I got a really good deal and reharged my account for the said amount and complimented myself for getting such a good deal. Even today when i look back I am amused when I think about the offer. Until today the offer still remains only thing the expiry date gets extended every month. And definitely now the denomination has changed from 201 to 200, no other changes

  10. Really surprised by Idea's move. Because Idea is a new operator in TN. Is their network quality so good that they have confidently startted charging calls to customer care just after a year of commencing operations in Chennai and Tamil Nadu circle?

  15. I am planning to purchase the LG RD 3540 phone.I am currently using the LG RD 2650 phone I have a few queries: 1) Will NET CONNECT work on the 3540 by just connecting the USB cable or is some kind of tweaking necessary for that? 2) My main concern is my phone book. I have more than 300 contacts in my phone. LG RD 2650 being a non sim card phone is it possible to transfer my contacts into the RUIM card through the said data cable? I have manually typed all my contacts in an excel sheet. Is there any easier method of doing it? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!
  16. According to the press release on their website, RCOM had great plans of making March 20th, 2010 a very memorable day in the history of Indian Telecom industry. I was quite surprised not to find anything in the newspapers. Any information whether RCOM has anything up its sleeve or was it just a hoax? I have attached a copy of the media release as an attachmentMediaReleaseMarch2010.pdf
  17. G-Fone 588

How can we check the SAR value o a phone? I have a cdma phone phone and i have gone through every bit and piece of its user instruction manual but was unable to find information regarding its SAR value. Mine is a LG RD 2650 model CDMA.
  18. This phone supports netconnect? But according to the product catalogue it specifically mentions that this phone does not support Netconnect. I have attached the product catalogue for reference. Handset cost in Bangalore is Rs. 1049/= RD3540 Product Note.pdf
  19. Videocon Gsm Service Launch Next Month

I really doubt the seriousness of this company to launch its services. On March 8th , 2010 Mr. Venugopal Dhoot had in an interview to NDTV profit confirmed that the commercial services would be launched within ten days. Looks like the company is going to bactrack from on more date regarding their commercial launch. Earlier the company had a plan to start services from August 15, 2008, then August 15 th 2009 then February 20th 2010 then................ Also their signals are not available in most important places in and around Mumbai as confirmed by many of our fellow rimwebians from Mumbai.
  20. Congratulations RCOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As long as your plans are SIMPLE and customer friendly, you can count on me as your loyal subscriber
  21. @ kanagadeepan Thanks for the information. My guess is that now all telecos would go for the consolidation phase. This I say because, there are only three more operators to start their commercial services on a pan India basis (at least in Karnataka, i.e. Etisalat, Videocon and Loop). Also, players like MTS were offering 1ps/2 secs for lifetime in circles like Kolkata. Now it has been reduced to 1 year. ALso, our very dear RCOM also reduced the tariff validity of all their SIMPLE plans for 1 year from the earlier lifetime (Thank God its only foor the new customers though). I really feel that the existing operators would slowly form a cartel and ensure that the rates dont go down below a certain point as they have a superior network as their USP. The above is my practical theory and I really pray that I am proved wrong.
  22. But whatever said about Uninor, I appreciate one thing. For continuing lifetime validity, no minimum recharges are necessary. One incoming/outgoing call is suufficient every six months. Thats a good initiative by Uninor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am planning to take one just for th sole purpose of incoming
  23. MTS India Changes MCard95 Validity for 365 Days in Kolkata & WB March 13th, 2010 MTS India, the CDMA mobile service of SSTL has come up with another heartbreaking news to Kolkata and West Bengal customers. Earlier we reported MTS withdrew SMS Packs and Free Missed Call Alert, now MTS withdraws its most popular Special Tariff voucher MCard95 for per second billing. MTS tags it as a ‘change’ to MCard95. With this new change to MCard95 new customers will get the tariff of local calls at 1 paisa/2 seconds for a period of 365 days. Earlier MSaver95 offers local call 1p/2sec, STD 1p/sec, local SMS 50p and national SMS Re1, and this tariff is for lifelong Validity (until 24-1-2028). But MTS told that MCard95 is a limited edition offer and till stocks last. New customers can get this offer for lifetime if he could manage to recharge with a paper voucher, which is mostly unavailable in the market in other words its withdrawn unofficially! So you have to recharge MCard95 via electronic recharge and get the tariff for a period of 365 days. There is no change to existing subscribers. Details of New MCard95 :- MTS MCard 95 MRP Rs 95 Recharge Procedure Via Electronic recharge [No paper voucher is discontnue and now Paper Voucher not available in market] Tariff Local call 1p/2sec STD call 1p/sec Local SMS 50p National SMS Re1 Validity 365 days Notes If you are recharged with MCard499, MCard95 will revoke MTS2MTS billion minutes.
