Got to wait and watch if the company at least meets this target date. The company has missed enough target dates in the past!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Telecom Subscriber Base Count In India

Just 1.8 million by the operator who has been adding more than 3 million subscribers a month for the past six months?????????????? Maybe subscriber additions have started stabilising for Tata. Now upto the newer operators starting sevices to be in the limelight, at least for a short while though and enjoy their moments of glory
  7. How to check Account Balance?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Trust Reliance to come up with such entertainment packages
  8. Even i really hope that RCOm comes with some kind of a similar, in fact a better offer than BSNL's
  9. Not sure about Aircel though!!!!!!!!!! I feel that Etisalat has the potential to turn around the telecom sector further.
  10. Government hikes spectrum usage charges for GSM, CDMA operators 26 Feb 2010, 1757 hrs IST, PTI NEW DELHI: In a development that would hit telecom operators' profits, the government today announced an up to 50 per cent increase in spectrum charges for all GSM and CDMA technology based service providers The increased spectrum charges would be effective April, this year, according to an official order/notification. Telecom service providers have to pay a percentage of their adjusted gross revenue (AGR) to the government as spectrum usage charge. This charge depends on the quantity of spectrum allotted. The new charges vary between 3-8 per cent depending upon the quantum of airwaves held by the respective operators. As per the new charge, an operator holding spectrum up to 4.4 Mhz will be paying 3 per cent of the AGR compared to two per cent now. Most of the incumbent players other than those who got licences in January 2008 are having more that 4.4 MHz of spectrum. Similarly, for CDMA players with spectrum up to 5.0 Mhz will now have to pay three per cent of their AGR as spectrum charge instead of two per cent earlier. The increase in spectrum charges will put pressure on the profits of the telecom operators who are already struggling to protect their revenues in the wake of intense competition due to entry of new operators in the field. 11. To the best of my knowledge RCOM GSM (excluding RTL) does not hold more than 4.4 Mhz spectrum.
  12. Excellent Kanagadeepan!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep all your phones in perfect condition over the next few days. You may get an immediate posting as a Director at Bharti Airtel, specially designated to prepare and also market their tariffs!!!!!!!! My congratulations in advance!!!!!!!!!!! Good job!!!!!
  13. Reliance GSM Network in Pune/Vishranthwadi

RCOM taught me "patience". I took a RGM prepaid connection on the date of launch in Bangalore and it was pathetic. For 6 months i complained day and night, and after 6 months they admitted there was a problem in my locality and finally cleared the mess. Now I dont regret wasting 6 months on RGSM, because i have excellent quality network now. Crystal clear sound. Only thing is it takes time. Keep forwarding your mails to Nodal Officer, Service Assurance Cell, Customer Care......... Try try till you succeed!!!!!!!!!
  14. I dont mind of operators start charging for calls made to their "esteemed cc". But they must make one more provision before introducing such schemes. Emails must be attended to more carefully. And also, for every email sent by the customer, a docket number must be assigned within 24 hours. And if this docket number is not given customer must be given the opportunity to call the cc for free and if charged, be entitled to full refund. I dont think there is no other way out than play in line with these biggies. I am sure all other incumbents including RCOM would follow suit very soon. The newer operators would give it a wait and watch, and once their network is running in good condiion maybe after 6- 8 months they would also definitely jump onto the bandwagon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometime ago i had mentioned this same thing in the UNINOR SOON TO START SERVICES THREAD (LINK: ) regarding telenor charging customers to speak to the cc. At that time it was a distant possibility considering the intense competition etc, but now suddenly the tables seemed to have turned!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Samsung Cdma Guru Muzic

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Could you please elaborate on the problems faced by you while using this phoen for the benefit of fellow members as well as potential buyers? Thaks in advance!!!!!!!!!!
  16. As of now this facility is not available on RCDMA.
  17. If "Ice Creams", "Chocolates", "Cakes" are targetted towards the younger generation, then I would not be surprised if LG launches "sugar free" versions of above mentioned phone for the middle aged and the health conscious. Maybe something like "Sugar Free Ice Cream" or "diet ice cream"
  18. At last one more date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope this time at least 3G auctions are conducted as per proposed schedule
  19. I hope that Reliance does not copy this!!!!!!!!!! I prefer the manual way of checking balance. This system of automatic message updates is also disadvantageous especially during network congestions. You might end up getting a last call update 24 hours after you actually made the call
  20. Great news!!!!!!!!! But unfortunately the Rs. 26 voucher is not applicable in Karnataka.
  21. Huawei C3500

AM interested in buying this phone. Had a few clarifications before i actually went ahead and purchased this phone. 1) In my LGRD2650 there is a feature known as CLEAR VOICE. Is it some kind of an advanced feature for better clarity or is it a name sake feature? 2) Is it present in all CDMA phones or is it a feature exclusive to LG. 3) I have the LG RD6150 also in mind. ANy suggestions between the Huawei C3500 and LG RD 6150. Thanks in advance
  22. Gsm Gives Pain In The Ear

  23. Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

The Government might have a scarcity of resources required for the success implementation of MNP, but definitely the Government does not have any scarcity of dates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Videocon Gsm Service Launch Next Month

I really doubt whether commercial services would actually be launched by the 20th of February, 2010. This, because the company has a history of never meeting deadlines!!!!!!!(both the GSM as well as the DTH businesses)
