i have loaded wm6 and my ph no isnt showing correct in settings>> ph>> it shows a different ph no. any way to correct this.. am using a soldered tray.. everything else is working fine .. if it isnt to difficult how do i change it.. please advise me anyone.. thanks

read this thread from the beginning u will get the link. i had posted a detailed step by step procedure for you before so why are u asking it again and again? http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?show...15&start=15 down load the file from the link given earlier in this thread and follow the same procedure..just remember after u hard boot and u r done with screen alignment n all as soon as it says customising ur extended rom 3 2 1 immediatly soft boot at once without letting it load the hetals extended rom.. as this is already inbulit into this wm6 rom.. i think u shd wait for a more improved version before u load this.. meanwhile enjoy hetals old rom ..

are u kidding me? .. course go for it.. 3 mp camera.. 2nd camera for conferencing.. 256 memory, 128 ram.. double of what u get with the cdma devices whether its 6700 or 6800.. with egde u can get blackbery services.. just ask about the services and charges for them coz no phone is good unless there is a proper service exploiting it.. if that service is very expensive then no point in taking it...the inbuilt wm6 will be much stabler and the double ram n memory will make it run much faster n easier. . rather than go for a used ppc6700 or 6800.. that will be better.. as it has touchflo.. and will be smaller n sleeker..and the screen tilts up too.. u wont get these in the cdma counterparts.. i think its much better than importing sumthing from outside with the risk of no warranty n all.. also size matter a lot.. to have a big ph its more difficult to take care of it.. i d say go for it..

We can set the Exploere in PE (Pocket Explorer Mode which run on WAP) or else we can set in IE6 Mode which run as IE So get the Registry Hacks and and Swtch between PE or IE dont thing the same registry hacks wud work in wm6.. where do i get them from they arnt there in the rom. installing and using them afterwords might do sum non desirable issue or sumthing?... this ie doesnt have the option to allow use pie as ie 6. dj.. even i keep my ring tone as old ph as its the only lound n piercing one. and what google talk are u talking bout. i meant using ot on the ppc standalone not on the comp.. like if i need to use it if im not home..or without the comp thru r world proxy connection.. is there any mobile version of google talk ..for wm6 i mean..? or ur talking bout the computer version of g talk which u say can be used thru internet sharing..? i think the ring one is lower than f version.. in this..

dj put alarm 5 in sounds and notifications in the various alerts and also in alarms. it is very loud.. i think even louder than the ringtone. but the ring tone still s**ks.. barely able to hear it. iif the alarm 5 can sound loud im sure the ringtone can be made louder to. i wish sumone wud increase the inherent volume of ringtones.thru a program like splitter. i had done it once before on another Lg phone before but as soon as i increased the volume it became like a phata dhol... maybee there is sum better method to do while retaining the quality. i miss the calls half the time coz of this stupid ringtone volume. windows 6 has been running ok till now.. just had to hard boot once in 8 days because it hanged while i was installing one note from windows outlook 2007 from the computer. i shdnt have installed it as it is already present in this wm6. i think sum issues have been reported in this that on tinkering with sum setting it starts hanging on the boot screen and will keep doing so till u hard boot it. i think it is definatly faster than the 3.5 and the spb shellhad issues before. now this inherent today htc home seems smoother and seamless. initially after installing the wm6 the ppc becomes very slow. and only after soft booting 2-3 times and opening a few programs the 1st time it suddenly becomes much faster. i have noticed this 3 times after hard booting. i didnt let the extended rom install after hard reset as mentioned in the ppc forum. maybee that has sumthing to do with the issues. the secured wifi issue will be sorted out sooner or later when the kitchens come out. there are also a few other issues with this which will become smoother after people try the various combinations of software with the kitchens. but i think it is quite stable for a trial issue. the dialer is pretty stable than the previous one which used to hang once in a while. but i think everyones ph usually hangs sooner or later on sum program. this is the basic problem with windows mobile. also i wasnt able to open a couple of internet pages like yahoo mobile messenger thru internet explorer. the basic problem i feel is that they have upgraded internet explorer to such an extend that it shows to the website as a normal i.e6 or 5 . this means that the sites which are specifically configured to load a short and fast version for mobiles registers this as a full computer based i.e and atarts loading the flash or other plug ins. these cant load completely as the flash plug in for pie doesnt allow to load more than 110k. which can be increased. but i still gives issues with a few sites. sumone confirm this. esp thru rel web world with proxy settings. also anyone having any luck with an messenger which can be used thru the proxy settings reliance mobile world

u must read the earlier posts in this forum.. in the hetals 3.5.4 f rom.. u ll get the answers.. yaho go will work .. after connecting a few times.. google maps will work.. opera will work opera mobile not mini opera. only after u open a site in internet explorer.. or u can add sum registry proxy settings.. no other messengers will prob work coz reliance has stopped non proxy usage of internet on all devices since last month.. so not much use left thru reliance mobile world. if u want all these u need to go wifi or use r connect.. before allt hes eworked so fast n good i cud talk on skype clearly but now its all gone.. even ur outlook email wont work though the mail2 web push mail will work..

1. download and install active sync 4.5 from microsoft website. charge ur battery to almost full. 2. back up all ur contacts by selecting sync contacts with outlook express. be careful as u might end up mixing ur e mails with phone numbers if u mess this up. i hope ur not using outlook for e mail or anything. its better u install outlook with ms office. 3. other option is ur current running rom might have an application called pim. which u can also use to back up ur contacts. just run the applications and make sure u save them on ur storage or mini sd card and not the main memory as the main memory will get deleted when u format. 4. if ur ph is new and contacts dont matter then dont bother these steps. 2 and 3. 5. connect ur phone with the cable provided to ur comp provided its running windows xp. dont use any other operating system. 6. when the computer shows ur conected and active sync recognises ur ph and shows a green tab as connected then u can be sure it is probably set up correct. let it sync. 7. now make sure u have the copy of the downloaded file ready and its a complete copy. on ur hard drive. 8.remove the phone. and now open any user guide of the 6700 and read it to know what buttons are called soft buttons and which are called button 1 2 3 4 and 5. write it down on a paper. 9. hard reset ur phone. press soft buttons 1 and 2 together and then simultaneously holding them put the stylus in the hole. this step is difficult because most people cant press them together and end up soft resetting instead of hard. if u do it correctly then u ll see a white screen with restore to factory setting. click y on the keyboard which ull have to open 10. if it simply restarts then u need to do it again. till u get it right. 11. now if u have hard reset and ur old rom had an extented rom which it prob does then it l install itself after restarting. let it do all that and restart again. 12. now u need to make sure ur comp has a good ups attached and it wont lose power in any way. if u lose power inbetween u will get screwed and ur ph might not work again. use a laptop if u can get one. but the laptop must be fast and new .. close all useless application in the laptop. make sure it has active sync running as well. 13 go into bootloader mode by pressing the top button and the top left button together and poking the stylus. these are shown in the setup guide in the rom files which u will install 14. if u do it correctly u will see serial written if u put ur screen in good light. the screen will darken and ull see it barely. 15 connect the usb calbe to it then it will say usb instead of serial. and show version 1.0 or 1.02 or sumthing 16. now click on the rom file in ur computer u ll see many files click on apacu file.. u ll see a screen load up .. follow its instructions close useless applications like internet n all in the comp. if its a laptop make sure it connected to power and disable the standby times or hibernate times or u ll get screwed again. 17. dont disturb ur ph and leep clicking sumthing on the comp every few minutes to make sure it doesnt go into standby. because it will take around 20-30 mins to complete. 18. pray while all this is going on. 19.3 things will install. 1st will be the radio (make sure ur rom nas an radio nbf file in it and its the latest 1.41. this will take maximum time . 2nd will be the main rom. and 3rd will be the extended rom.after it completes it ll tell u to remove the cable. 20.hard reset now like the screen on comp tells u to. now ull see a welcome msg asking u to align ur screen tap the stylus on the screen where the plus sign moves. and then 2 ,3 other functions will be taught to u. after it all loads u ll see installing hetals extended rom on ur ph. let it do that and then it ll soft reset by itself. 21. now u r all set to use ur new phone . .. thank all the people who have made it possible and enjoy. i think u shd soft rest the phone after all this is done to make sure it runs smoothly. no need to set time and date as these will be automatically updated from the reliance site. and keep a printout of this as u ll need it again and again. 22. in case ur installing wm6.. which is the latest then after u hard reset and u have aligned ur screen as soon as it loads up u ll see customising ur extended rom 3-- 2---1 .. before the 1 happens just quickly reset ur phone (soft reset) with ur stylus immediatly. and when it loads up again ur ready. dont do this step if ur using any downloaded file from the rim web site. this is only meant for the latest windows media 6 from the ppc geeks site. good luck with ur phone.

have u seen the latest wm6 phones in gsm.. they cost around 15-17 with bill and warranty.. u get wm6 with lots of features and without any importing trouble.. if u have to change ur ph no i think that wud be abetter option.. these days cost calls are similar in most phones.. different rates in different circles..the data usage charges for relaince are 10 kb=10 paisa. and the r world or gprs for data only lets u browse and use a few other applications. the total proper interent has been stopped for reliance. u need to use r connet for that which is 40 paisa per minute or use their data plan which u can get on their website. tata is similar to i think.. hetal stopped using reliance because of the same reason they keep withdrawing facilities for their customers.. hetal are u doing all the r & d for tata just because u have already imported the 6800 or beacuse its an hobby? i thought u were going over to gsm for obvious reason?

hetal has tried that but i think doesnt work..thats why he has now enabled it to tata..if he cant i doubt anyone can.. u can do that too if ur willing to give up reliance.. dont think u can change to ruim as it needs soldering and all and people still havnt been able to do it anywhere.. unless u can get any threads to that anywhere..so why count on ruim when no one has been able to do it yet..plus a brand new phone might not be ideal for soldering n all.. price seems good at 17 k.. n if u can enable tata sounds good.. but if u are going to change operator only then go for gsm.. why waste time in all these hack n all when u can get similar and better phones in gsm in india for same prices..or even less..

kshah i think smart dialing works ok in this rom.. but i think the problems are usualy asociated with pim coz u prob back up using that. a couple of soft resets takes care of that. pim restores the previous calls in the dialer and that probably cozes the issues.. and one very important thing.. which cozes most issues in the wm6.. u dont have to allow the extended rom to install.. as it is part of the main rom only and already installed when u install it. so when it boots 1st time u have to immediatly hit soft reset before it says 3-2-1 and hetal s extended rom installing.. because that rom is already installed.. so many people r having issues when it is installed 2 times.. and its been specifically mentioned not to do this in the forum.. as it writes the registry entries at different places or 2 times which causes the issues.. still havnt tried wifi. but i hope ur wifi working isnt because of sum setting issues.. microsoft voice command working till now.. tried calls.. reseted too.. phones.. i m sure all these bugs wil be sorted out soon.. i think it hasnt instaled spb shell in this version.. so we need to wait for sum kitchen till sumone gets more stable dialers. ***microsoft voice command working till now.. tried calls.. reseted too.. phones.. no problems with it.. reassign the button to the internet explorer button works better with it.. the other thing in wm6 is that one closing a program the task manager shuts it down.. which makes sure u dont load to many applications and thus dont hang often..

installed and used for 5 hours.. initially felt slow on the 1st screen .. but a soft reset and opening applications for the 1st time ..seemed to make them very fast... no doubt its faster than the previous 3.5 f. but a few unfinished minor issure are still there which will prob get resoved soon. like the keyboard opens halfway up the screen .. for no reason.. and the x button dissapears in bet.. but on clicking it in settings restores it.. it def works faster.. but apart from that seems similar to the older roms.. unles hetal adds sum magical touch to it.. .. waiting for ur version hetal.. and k shah smart dialing seems to be working well? onlythe buttons arnt there in between..liek call history n so.. but they do come in the menu.. i think it needs a better dialer.. but it seems good n stable.. green signal for downloaders.. but i think u can wait for hetal to tweak it..

sorry dear u are a bit late.. reliance has stopped all non proxy services on reliance mobile world since last 15 days or so.. so all ur instant messengers or java based applications like opera will not work any more.. infact not even msn live.. yahoo go is working but u cant download any attachment.. google maps works.. to be able to do that u need to use either r connect or wifi from any other network. reliance has crippled this servive as many dapo customers were surfing the net using r world..and reliance never wants it customers to enjoy anything.. to use skype u must log onto skype using wifi or r connect and then after logging into it u can change the proxy settings in skype and try to use it. i have read this in skype faqs but i still havnt tried it.. after changing the proxy settings u can go back to reliance mobile world and try logging in. till 15 days back i had used skype and mig 33 for voip and i cud get great quality sound too.. so it worked very well ..but as of now they r not working u can try putting the proxy settings of reliance mobile world like 8080wapinforel..sumthing but i dont know if they do work. hope sumone can find out the bypass for this stupid move from reliance to cripple its one good service.. good luck..

hetal please confirm has reliance disabled the non proxy surfing for all wap enabled phones? does it mean we cant use any 3rd party software thru the r world account from now on? yahoo go works, google maps works, windows live gone, active sync with the mail2 web works, opera mobile works but all java applications gone, skype gone, all instant messengers gone.. please tell us if there is any way to enable the 80 or other ports on the proxy server.... i think this can be done because many appications do work so im sure few ports are open , we just have to find those and add the proxy settings . i think probably we cannot send outgoing mail from the phone probably , though i havnt tried it.. reliance ne ppc ki tangen kaat di.. kuch to upay dundo...!!!!!!

guys reliance uses a proxy server on the 8080 port.. which means it prob blocks the other ports.. to enable full fledged surfing we must enable the other port if its open.. so sum software guy please try do this so we can get back our old proper internet instead of just wap.. i think one has to edit and add sum settings on the proxy server and http settings... to bypass the reliance proxy web.. hetal , sadik.. and other senior members ? do sumthing ..

I have been able to use opera with Rel mobileworld connection on PDA & firefox / IE on PC with internet sharing. Just use proxy server "wapgw.ricinfo.com:8080" & you are on your way. The only problem is in downloading mails, for that you have to use Netconnect with your mobile # as usrname & pass This problem is since last 3-4 days. Earlier all browsers, outlook etc use to work flawlessly both on PDA & PC without any proxy settings using Rel Mobileworld. I think this is not a problem with the server, but a ploy by reliance trying to stop us DAPO users using free internet thru Rel Mobileworld. Yunus. yunis u are absolutly right. this problem is recent. and as usual reliance is slowly but surely squeezing us dapo customers. they have stopped most things from the proxy server. tanveer before u could use all that because it was a no proxy connection which allowed unrestricted access. now its thru the proxy settings and most applications do not allow the proxy setting internet to work. unless u feed the proxy settings and then use it. a few applications like google earth or yahoo go which i can still use work because they allow proxy settings accsess. i think eventually reliance will take away all the benifits from us dapo customers. without the free wap this phone will become uselss to a large extent. unless u use the rconnect which is again chargeable and time based. u ll end up wasting time because many times with mail accounts u have to wait or reload the application in a pda. but i think there is hope as most applications allow proxy server settings if they are fed into the program. the software people on here please help out as all people will be affected by this stopping of service. not only ustarcomm customers but also all other people who use wap or any java application. basically for the people who bought this 33000 rs phone.. they are...... i feel bad for them. u charge so much for a phone and instead of increasing your service for them reliance has withdrawn whatever was given before. now no instant messaging can be used on this phone , infact all the kb usage facilties will now be stopped. most people use this phone for e mail or instant messaging. no one who has enough money to buy such a phone will use it to acsess internet( just sumtimes) he ll prob have a computer at home or whereever for that. but the software guys please find and crack the proxy settings for windows live and java applications. tanveer 1st open internet explorer and surf a site.. then open opera mobile(not opera mini). it works then..

tanveer.. i hadnt tried the net for a couple of days thru wap. u are right. i have the same problem. only the proxy server connection is working now. the no proxy connection doesnt work any more. this isnt good and really makes our ph really crippled. any other application like mail and all cant be used any more. no messengers or opera or anything. no java either. they all say they cant be used using ur current settings which are the proxy settings. if use the no proxy account it doesnt work any more. i think the opera does work but only if u open a site on the internet explorer. i dont think it has to do with the server being down because when that happens usually u cant surf anything or even use r world for that matter. before we were able to use r world only from the proxy enabled my connection , but few people use that as it only allows restricted usage. so most people switched over to the other np r world connection. everybody please check if they are facing similar problems in delhi and elsewhere. i hope this isnt limited to a area or sumthing.

i think the reliance server is down now in delhi.. nothing is working in my set too... and maybee before ur proxy server connection was enabled by mistake instead the no proxy one. so wait till the server gets back. this happens once in a few days and last for upto one or 2 days.. once its back ur things shd be fine.. and hetal does it mean the new core is removed and reverted back to 2.60 ? can u please tell how much system ram is used when this new rom is installed at idle viz a viz the previous roms? keep up the good work.. we all appreciate ur great work.

Cybron voice dialI found to be the best. MS is lousy as you said for American or british accent as per version it is made for. Hi guys, I think MSVC is an excellllent software. I have been using it since i bought the 6700. Earlier i had the US version which i admit was not very useful for us indians as the accent required is different from what we have here. However the UK version, which i now use is great and it totally recognizes the indian accent we speak in. Also the recognition seems to be better than the US version. With a couple of tweaks, it is the best voice software i have seen. I have a cab file of this software which i have on the storage card on my 6700 and so it is very easy to install after every hard reset. Amit i had tried using the uk version of voice command. installed properly and even worked good.. was able to understand most things.. but the button 5 stopped working after a soft reboot.. applied a fix and got it working .. but i installed it on the storage card coz it takes 4 mb of precious memory.. but every time the phone sleeps or u switch it off (the backlight) the msvc hangs and doesnt get on on clicking the start button which is assigned to it. is there any other hack to take care of the issue where it hangs after using it once ..or that it doesnt load when it wakes up after sleeping. it even asks if u want to install it on the main memory(maybee that is the reason .. i havnt tried that option ). but u say its working perfect since u had the phone..and u have it installed on the memory? i think the inbuilt cyberon conflicts with it so it doesnt work. i dont want to give up cyberon as it is much more reliable than the vc . tell me any other crack to take care of the issue apart from the button 5 fix which i already have. thanks

adjusted to the superfine mode? equivalent to 2 mp? how cam one know how much is it? and in which version has that been done? which rom version onwards i mean ... and is it possible to do that? coz the camera lense and sensor can only capture that much detail.. to increase the megapixils after that is usually done with software .. a process called interpolation wherein the software adds pixels adjacent to the one taken and apparently increases the clearity.. like many cmos cameras wud mention ..2 megapixels interpolated to 5 or 4.mp.. it actually doesnt mean much .. the camera can only take that much clearity. most companies do it as a marketing gimmick.. but i think this phones camera isnt to bad in any way.. it takes resonable pictures.. unless there is any other way which u guys know about to increase the clearity of the picture? .. like if the company itself had put a better lens but didnt want to sell it as 2 mp because sumtimes the market isnt ready for such a thing plus they want to be able to launch their later models also with 2 mp.. otherwise the upgrade to those models wudnt seem worth it.. maybee sumone needs to compare the 6800 s camera shot to shot and post the results. then we d know what exactly the difference is between 2 and 1.3 mp. keep on the good work guys. also hetal i still havnt tried this latest rom but tu seems the file size has been dramatically reduced to 55mb from 81 or sumthing.. does it mean the phone will have more available memory or its just that the basic rom is smaller in size. hetal it wud be great if you can post the free space in all ur roms.. as a comparision so everyone can have an idea how much of the ram and memory in the phone is used by each upgrade. this will also help us compare how faster or slower the phone runs.. are u doing any standard benchmarking at each upgrade u do so u can urself evaluate if each upgrade is actually making the phone faster.. perhaps that wud help people to decide what they want .. more applications in the phone or faster speed.. or a mix of both. thanks.
