what project? i am 22 but already looking at my 3rd job, many ppl who r in their 20s or maybe late 20s r married and many have kids.... you need to make seperate polls for such things, but it would be easier to get more accurate info using some websites, which allows you to make polls. www.opinionpower.com seems to be pretty good. they give a lot of options. but the survey will have a life of only 30 days.

the purpose of backup is so that we we accidently delete something that we shouldnt then we can restore it. most often than not, we would know if we delete something accidently. it would be a good idea for everyone to make a backup before doing something with the phone. just a precaution.

wht if we accidently delete some critical file? will we be able to restore using our backup? i mean if we dont reboot.

wont it be a good practise to make a backup of some items before you start working on it. i have backed up my phone book on lg desktop and also i saved the phonebook using bitpim. can anyone suggest which all files should be backed up even if some critical files are deleted and if we upload the backup before re-booting would the phone work normally?

i think its a good idea too. Infact now i dont have to worry about ppl stealing my password using keyloggers. but my complaint is that i am not able to use the programs i want. like mirc ftp clients etc. to use those they have to get it installed and for that they have to approve of it from mumbai.... thats bad

a forum is not a website. but the idea is good. i mean if you ppl can work together and make a good website then its good. wht all r u planning to put on the website? my suggestions are put an faq on handset usage and other related services. you will get lots of content from this forum. put the user review on each handset. but the main problem with website is that the content creation is very tough work, here in the forum everyone is participating in it. but for a person to do all that by himself.... it will be tough. in the forum almost everything is ready. u just have type what u want and it will come, but in the case of website u have to design it, give correct links, see if each pages matches, upload it. update it... too much work.... lets here more bout this, and maybe there are few who likes to work very hard without getting any reward.

hi i hope ppl wouldnt misquote me. i have told that reliance doesnt have any right to shut down rimweb. if a site is hosted in any country with cyber laws then it can be shut down provided there is sufficient reason. but reliance doesnt have such a reason

well i cant see why reliance is so bothered about. if they are going to behave like this then rimweb as well as ngcoders will be having problems soon, mainly because our tech team has exposed the vulnerability of the lgrd2030. i dont think they r gonna be very appreciative of such things. but i dont think that would give them enough reason to ask the server to pull down rimweb, i hope arun have backup of the website. arun, u got any calls???

that is not an illegal activity. we are not putting any virus there. its just that the facilities on webworld is just for general population. it doesnt meet the specific needs of each individuals. and i dont think you can install any application on webworld. so dont worry much about it.

hi maniktushar, some time ago we were all bitten by that bug. i even put up a wap site and even tried my own wap server. but it didnt work. i called up customer care and they told me currently download of ringtone is supported only from r-world. but keep thinking, we might get something. if only we could see the code of r-world. i think it has to be some code on r-world that allows the phone to save the ringtone from it. keep the hammer knocking at that brick or else try finding out if the ringtone has anything special on it.

hi, i dont think its possible. because they are giving restricted account for our use. it is good when you consider that ppl using internet might install all sorts of programs and many programs get installed automatically. if u want to install any software or games then u have to give suggestion and only then do they install such softwares based on the feedback. and they would install it on all the machines they have... i was also glad bout the speed they were giving, but if u try to write it to a cd then the cost will come to bout 900 per cd. so downloading is not that viable. last time i asked them they told me that i can upload by bringing a cd. i will have to try that now.

hi, does anyone know why no new ringtones are available on R-World? earlier there used to be good selection for hindi. but now there are only 3-4 tones. is there anyway to remove the ringtones which are available on the handset? most of those ringtones are useless.

how do they upgrade the software? even if it can be connected, i dont think those ringtones can be changed. coz they r inbuilt... am i right?

hmmmm, good idea, but i think there is a limit on charactors that can be used to describe a thread. is it possible to increase the limit? coz many times i had to shorten up the description so as to fit it in. ashok any ideas?

hey you dont have to worry bout that. it wont be charged for international calls. and if u send sms in international format also u wont be charged extra. as ashok suggested, it would be a good idea to store no: in both the format, coz u usually get sms in inter: format and calls in normal format.

hi anyone went to browse at the web world? i am surprised no one has yet commented about it yet. i got over 30 free coupons to use at webworld. but i couldnt use it, coz i was busy a couple of weeks ago i paid and saw the setup. its pretty fast there. rates are high too. i was thinking maybe i could download stuff there and bring it home, but their cd writing charges are out of the world. 40 for 30 mb thats 900+ for 1 cd i dont think they allow upload from cd, i have asked them and they told me they will get back to me. their games are not bad, if u give them suggestions they would upgrade the games. they wont allow u to install any softwares. i dont think they ahve any chat clients either. only their own chat client. which might be good. i didnt try it. visit it and post ur opinion here.... btw they have a 500 plan. with unlimited use. and their printing charges seems to be good. u can get an a4 size colour print on photo paper for bout 25 or something...

i think the table ashok has given gives all the necessary details. in the 200 plan u have to pay 40 ps per minute in the other plan its for the data transfered. both upload and download and i think almost all the isp's are using per minute calculation. only recently have they come up with pay for what u use system. it seems fair to me. but the isp charges have dropped a lot and so reliance should also think bout lower charges.

if anyone finds such a software then pls let me know. i have been looking all over for it

were u given the software with the phone or with the data cable? where did u buy the data cable? if u bought it from reliance then get them to rectify the prob. also check if u have the latest upgrade. it might help. but wait till u get more replies. there are guys in this forum who would have used it. they would be able to shed some light on your prob
