here is the latest of my ringtone creations hey rao that was great work, i have added it in my creations... but i dont get much volume for it on my mobile.. can u do anything bout it?? and also due to the no of notes on the drums the time is very small in one version. so i put another version without drums... its great work... and thats the latest craze in music in kerala... you made a lot of ppl happy man... if not now soon... as soon as others find out bout it tones.zip

here is something i want to know bout uploading ringtones arun told is it really illegal to upload ringtones??? coz when i asked to a webworld guy he told me its alright i will be asking another guy today... will get back to u after that.... in the mean time what do u guys say?

hey chirag... im quite surprised.... we have a lot in common... i like vehicles... love reading...and i have no doubt my friends would consider me moody and eccentric.. im always online too and i too love reading through columns... and im also an odd man out here... i dont have much technical knowledge... im just going along with the flow...

ok we just confirmed it ashok connected his phone to his computer and retrieved his data while i was calling (just ringing). there was no prob....

well my friend tried to call me yesterday and she got switched off message. or so she said. i was tinkering with the cable.. and i dont know if she called while i was restarting... but i doubt if it will cause any prob ashok just told me its possible to make ur phone offline in bitpim. i am sure he will come up with more info

im sure chirag have found the answers for that i hope this will be of use to other ppl i got my cable only day before yesterday and got it working only yesterday anyway here is something... if you want to back up ur phone book first use bitpim... and open the file system click on pim you will see phonebook.dat save it to your hard disk now when u use lg desktop click on synchronization ----- synchronization configuration--------conflict resolution tab---- select the first one namely overwrite PIM record with phone data. now u can try tinkering with your phone... i hope i have not made any mistakes. so wait till other moderators like chirag or ashok confirm what i have told you before you act on it...

here is something i found interesting in lg desktop you can add 12 nos... how many of those would show an incoming call i dont know... but i have added my friends office no: business1 and business 2. it doesnt show the business no in the mobile. but i want to check it and see if it shows the name if i get incoming call from that no... if anyone has checked it please post your findings soon

i dont think 8242 yahoo service would be charged for dapo users. coz when i got info about 1234 service i asked bout it at web world and they told me that any sms send to india wont be charged... and yahoo has its sms server in india... so they cant charge us for that... if they do then we can ask why they r charging for it while they r not doing so for 1234. they would say that its because yahoo wants money... but we can say its not ethical because of their contractual obligation. and since they hadnt charged for 1234 when they started it, but they charged for other users i think,..... they cant charge a similar service, just becuase the operator is asking for money.. reliance had assured us free sms in india for 3 years and it has to stand

hey rao.... how bout composing a ringtone for rimweb?? i mean something that would really capture everyone's attention... i am afraid that we wont be able to pay u because everything here is voluntary... we dont ask for money.... and so we cant pay any either... but in terms of service i will try to help you in anyway possible.. and dont forget everyone here is here to help each other out and get help from anyone else who is willing to help.... thats how this forum can be a bigger success than its now

here are two ringtones one is Sathiya which i got from R-World. i am sure many ppl are looking for that one the other is nice, but the sound needs some tuning.... anyway someone told me he had roja ringtone... put it online. i want it... pls tones.zip

there was one here too. i didnt have any bills due, coz i had negative balance. it was during christmas and they were giving out cakes. i just updated my software and that was it

well i hadnt understood exactly what it meant when i read it the first time.... but if such a thing happens then it would benifit the consumers a lot.... while i was working at airtel... many ppl told me they didnt want to take a connection because they didnt want to change their nos... even with many facilities some ppl who depend on their mobile for new business like taxi operators and such, who give out their no to anyone who might call later, would suffer a heavy loss if they lose their no... the losers would be small scale players... so you can trust them to fight tooth and nail to vote this facility out..... and i dont think big gsm cos would welcome this either... coz when compared to their roaming rates reliance rate is really low... so they would expect a large flow of customers to reliance.... so it looks like there wont be many supporters...... and reliance............... they would support it whatever the cost.... first of all they get a lot of customers... but they wont lose much either coz its a new co. and those who have come to it wont have taken it if they had an earlier connection.... and the other... well they r trapped for 3 years.... unless they want to pay penelty it seems reliance is likely to be the biggest winner. followed by bsnl, but they dont have the capacity to support such a big shift of customer base.

this is something i received on my pm, i hope all members feel confident enough to post your doubts, or to share your knowledge or pretty much anything you want. if your are not sure under which head it should come then post it in general chat. the moderators would be happy to move it to more apporopriate heads, if they feel it belongs somewhere else. and i am not one of the "advanced ppl". i am just a regular guy who uses reliance phone, just like you. so i too have my own faults and lack of knowledge. but there are lots of other ppl who are always ready to help out. hey i thought that the file size should be 4.01 kb. but some of the files are much bigger than that. and some of the ringtones posted does not in anyway sound like the song whose name they have been given.... any answers????????

it does in no way spak bout faulty and inaccurate billing system. it is just an inducement for the customers to pay the bill. if they had any prob with billing they would have tried to hide it. the free gift is a small expense compared to what they might incurr if they went to the court to get the bill... when you believe some ppl are bad then what ever they do, you believe it is bad. btw did u get a free gift when u paid your bill?? or id u get 10% reduction because you complained bout ur bill???

hi bineesh welcome to the forum. as far as i can tell there is no way. well there is a way. i think it was niket who suggested it, that we buy a rom programmer. costs bout 20000 i think. or else our hackers will have to do some serious hacking... though it sounds pretty impossible. and anyway those guys dont have motoroala. they have lg. so we, who have lg are lucky... hard luck buddy. but i hope some one will bring bout some solution.... btw feel free to introduce yourself and talk freely.... we like to have ppl who talk... hey vikas i tried connecting to my mobile but the driver doesnt detect it. lg desktop doesnt detect it. bitpim detects it sometimes. very rarely and when it detects and i try to get the data from it it gives the following error An unexpected exception has occurred. to make such things work in india as they work in US, some company or individual should take initiative like reliance did with mobile phones. they made the phones available to the common man. in the same way only when credit cards are made available to the majority of the public would such schemes work another big prob is identification in india many ppl might have multiple ids. in US they have a standardised id scheme. Social Security No. but in india they dont seem to be able to make up their mind. the voters ID card they gave is not that fool proof. now they r taking bout another ID card. what should happen is a standard id scheme, where by an authorised person can verify the id of a person online. unless it happenes fraudsters and such ppl would always be able to cheat the bank and other institutions. just like they were cheating reliance.

no way. DAPO users were promised free sms and it should stand. but even if they provide free sms they dont stand to lose much. or else they could even make it very cheap. like 50 ps or something like that. but they have to stand by their promises. ie. dapo users get free sms. they cant change that. well i am also waiting for it to happen. i guess we were going way offtopic. anyway i hope we can get back to the thread. and discuss what we can do to make it possible.

im not sure if this is true or not, but have u noticed those adult phone nos. i hear they charge double amt. and if they r charging the amt then its possible what u mentioned is possible. all mtnl has to do is charge it to reliance on the specified phone no. and reliance would charge it to you. i dont know if it works but that would be the scenario if it was implemented

i accept advt is very profitable industry. i would know, coz i have studied advting. at least in degree level. but what im talking bout is advt on websites wont cover its cost even minutely. i dont know the advt rate for websites. but however big their volume is still the penitration is very low. coz only a very minor amt of ppl use net. and among those many dont even check the ads. and those who check might not even click them and those who do click wont generate much money coz credit card penitration and usage is very low in india. but im getting offtopic here. coz ad is not the intention of yahoo or rediff. their aim is to increase the usage. however they can. and when users pay Re1 per sms thats actually increasing their revenue. coz in real world sending an sms is not that costly. its comes to less than .005 paise per sms. but that is including the cost of software and all such things. for yahoo and all it wont come to even that much. so while they r not making much money from their email and other services coz most of the users use free only, and they get money from advts, they r trying to make it up by using sms facility. it will increase the brand value too. im not against them chraging money. they need the money to survive. but they should chrage it from the service providers. coz they r taking in too much from sms. in fact i think that service providers should provide sms facility at Re.1 or lower without any extra charge, what ever the service maybe. and that should include foreign sms too.
