First check in your device manager which serial port the dku 5 has been asigned. You can see this under ports. Second when connecting the phone click on the connection manage, select serial and advanced, there select the com port which is shown in the device manager. This will connect the phone.

Data cable is available on baazee.com for Rs.400/- and works fine. After market car chargers and handsfree do not work well, so avoid buying them.

Dear rakesh, BTW what is the maximum data transfer speed, that you been able to receive using the serial cable, I guess it wont be more than 115Kbps anyway, but r-connects maximum speed can be arnd 153.5 Kbps though reliance only guarantee for upto 144Kbps, 25790 Dear DaCodecz, As explained by you a serial interface can only have a mx speed of 114 Kbps, so if most lg phones like 2030, 2130 which only have a serial interface can only have a 115 kps speed. Adding a usb convertor and using it on serial port may not speed up things. For instance I have the LG 6000 which has both usb as well as serial interface. However I have been able to find a usb to serial convertor cable only for the phone and not a strainght usb cable. Now the usb serial convertor cable only connects to the phone if the port is set to serial and the data rate set to 115 kbps. If I set the phone to serial mode and 230 kbps, than it does not work. Can you throw some light on this.

Need Cheap Data Cable For Lg 5130 Phone Book
Devesh replied to kkdeep's topic in Technical / OS related
Please do let me know about the shop and the market from where u got this cable. I too need it badly. 25982 A USB cable for 5130 is availabel on Baazee.com for Rs.349/- I do not believe any cable serial or usb for 5130 can be had for Rs.120/- FWP and Samsung yes but not LG. -
I was not able to log on with my FWP in the morning. However I was able to log on with my Mobile. The error I was getting with my FWP was 0678 which customer service said is temporary. I tried reinstalling the R connect software, however, nothing worked. I connected at arround 2 pm and it got connnected. The servers were down, the CC guys do not have the courtesy to inform us that the servers are down and they give bull**** about re intslling software, etc.

I would love to thave the modem.inf file for LG RD 6000.

the picture quality is below avg as can be expected from a 0.3 Mpix cam - you need a min 1 Mp cam for decent quality my problem is that the shutter speed seems to be quite slow so if my hand twitches slightly, i get a blurred image which is quite bad and independent of resolution Resolution has nothing to do with picture quality. Resolution is simply the size of the image. .3 MP camera can also give great images. If you need I can post some great images from a .3 MP camera.

MMS is working for me. I have sent a mms to an email id and recieved a mms form an email id. Its seems the problem must be SDCA/City centric. I use the LG 6000 and send receive mms directly from the phone. Maybe MMS from R World is still a problem

Our suggestion is to buy a usb cable with a built in serial convertor. Do not use a usb to serial convertor cable with a serial port cable. I have been using USB data cables for LG 2030, LG FWP and now for LG 6000 for last 2 years almost and they work very well. I am using the USB cable for FWP as I am typing this message. I also sell the same cables on baazee.com and rediff.com. However I would not like to use this forum to peddle my goods and hence would not like to give you any links to source the products. You may search for these products on Baazee.com and select a seller who has good ratings.

what are u sayin??? is it really true??? if is it so .. how can one find out whether hi/her set is a defect piece or not.. can u help me.. is it y we are having a mms problem??? 25437 Full Mulitmediat content in R World is now available on the LG RD 6000. MMS are being sent from the phone but there is some problem in receiving MMS. This is purely a problem of RIM and has nothing to do with the handset. It should be solved in a few days hopefully. The LG 6000 is a great phone. The only problems I have found with the phone are: 1) The handsfree not being able to connect call and end call. It has to be done from the handset. This may be a software problem and if the LG guys come up with a software update, this will be solved. 2) The memory of the phone is limited. You cannot download a lot of multimedia content from R World if your gallery and rintones / wallpapers are full.

MultiMedia Content is now available on Brew Platform in R World. LG 6000 now too has MultiMedia. Currently : Movie Clips, Songs, Devotional content and Traillers are available.

Is download speed the only criteria??? I feel browsing / surfing speed would be more important to regullar users. The surfing speed on Relinace is never more than 20 Kilobits and sometimes as low as 6 kbps. Cable service providers are giving dedicated 64 kbps at around 600-800. Even if speed available is in the region of 40-45 it is much much faster than Reliance. I have opted for the Freedom plan for last 2 months and am feeling cheated.

Which Handsets Support Internet Via Irda Port?
Devesh replied to rakesh5295's topic in Data services
The max speed of IrDa data transfer is 115 kbps and yes connection is liable to get disconnected frequently. It better being wired till we have blue tooth enabled handsets. If you are using a laptop, the PCMCIA card which Reliance is offering is a good option to be wirefree, however they are charging too much for a dumb PCMCIA modem. You may refer to the link below for more information: http://www.relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/Rim/rconnect_card.html -
Dear Saurav, You will need a different data cable for the 6130. The data cable for 2030 is the same as 2130 and the 2230 data cable works with 5130 and 6130. No, there are duplicate cables. They are one made by local companies. I have myself bought the faulty one. Reliability of those cannot be gauranteed. It depends on where you buy your data cables from. There are a lot of sellers who give replacement warranty for cables bought from them, if found to be not working.Accepted that these cables are not made by Reliance / LG but most work as well. The Samsung N191 cables are very simple and it would be very difficult to make a faulty one. However, the LG USB cables have a USB Serial convertor in between and the matching causes all the problems and these could be defective.

Which Handsets Support Internet Via Irda Port?
Devesh replied to rakesh5295's topic in Data services
If you are using Reliance, you are stuck with wires for some time. Nokia 6225 has Irda support but net connection of IrDa s**ks. When mobiles with bluetooth are launched (Nokia 6255, etc.), you may get freedom from wires. -
1) The PC sync software is sold with the data cable at LG service center and is available on www.lgmobiles.com2) There is no IR port on the handset and neither there is a speakerphone. YOu can transfer images to pc by sending them as an email to you email address (prereably yahoo) or by using a datacable and bitpim. You can send ringtones as emails (in .midi format) to yourphone@mms.ricmail.com or by using datacbale and bitpim. Though the ringtones transferred are low in volume.

I tried QPST with my LG 6000, phone is detect alrite, but when I try to connect the phone, it asks for some SPC ( I think it is Service Programming Code). If anyone has any idea about the SPC for LG RD 6000, do post it here. I have read that you can transfer animated wallpaper to the LG phones with QPST and that QPST is better than Bitpim in some respects. If anyone has used QPST, do enligthen me.

Try the following: Create a New Connection from Dail Up Networking. Use the LG USB modem already installed by the Reliance software. The no. to dail is #777. With this you should not have problem. Alternately try upgrading to Win XP

1) Go to www.ricmail.com 2) Click on Signup 3) Click on Account Registration 4) in Accounts Details, type you Mobile / FWP no. (10 digits) and you are ready to to. Email account is only available to those who have opted for Freedom Plan or Platinum Plan. It is not available for defaul plan (zero rental)
-
It requires a 10 digit no., so its your phone no. plus std code without zero.
-
Anyone who has a Reliance Mobile / FWP connection. Maybe even the wireline connections can use it. Log on to www.ricmail.com and register you a/c (one time process). You can send receive webmail on www.ricmail.com For Pop3, configure you POP 3 Client. I use Outlook Express. For Outlook express, go to Tools - Accounts - Add New Mail. And create you new account and you are ready to receive you emails at yourname@ricmail.com in your POP3 client.
-
RicMail is working. You can creat you own emails @ ricmail.com. Even Pop3 support is available. However, since smtp server info is not available, I have not been able to send messages from my Outlook. If anyone know the outgoing mail server, please put it here
