Irresistable Deals In Electronics, Gadgets, Mobiles, PC Hardware
digitalnirvana replied to rajanmehta's topic in General Technical Discussion
Raccoon GB is not must have it is incremental update not like 2.4, and if you get phone at good price with good developer community support then it is better buy than high price phone only for official upgrade of software, because custom ROMs are mostly better than stock.- 6,376 replies

Handset Launches - News Snippets
digitalnirvana replied to digitalnirvana's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Nokia aggressively prices the E6 at Rs. 17,999, lists it for pre-order The Nokia E6 business phone is a Symbian Anna-based QWERTY device that also has a touchscreen, one that has a pixel density of 326ppi, far exceeding that of the iPhone 4’s famous Retina Display, albeit on a smaller 2.46-inch (640x480) display. It has an 8MP camera with dual LED flash and an EDoF sensor (capable of 720p HD recording), the same as the Nokia E7, 265MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM, 8GB of internal storage, and, a massive 1,500 mAh battery that promises up to 14 hours of talk time. For now however, no processor details are known about the device. Nokia E6: First Impressions -

TATA Indicom Launches ‘SMS Express’ Offer For Prepaid Customers
digitalnirvana replied to Karthik R's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
^ True which is why I do not see this phone's USP. LMS is good for GSM but CDMA can only handle SMS upto 160 characters in length. -

That is CDMA limitation. -
Abhishek, Before changing PRL ensure that EVDO is provisioned from backend. Only configuring hsd username password through CW will not work.

Abhishek why did you need to backup contacts manually bhai, google sync is easiest way just signin to your Google account and it does it. If you want to have an alternate option, try my backup pro for contacts/SMS/call logs/homescreen settings etc., extremely simple GUI interface, and it also allows backing up online. Worth the 250 INR but apk also on forum. Regarding SRF not having microphone, what is the exact issue? And I guess it is better to post the Epic specific issues in the Epic thread. Let us keep this thread for general Android OS. Sougata da thanks. Vinay ji thanks for the guide.

Abhishek, Open TB and before restoring anything click the menu key. Now click Preferences, App Installer Mode and change that to Auto INDIRECT, by default it will use Auto, Direct. Now try to run a batch restore. Also I strongly recommend when you take TB backup take app and system data backup separate and restore separate, as restoring system data often causes battery drain on Syndicate. Also are you separately backing up contacts, call logs and SMS because TB does not backup those. Use my backup pro for all, or SMS backup and restore for SMS, and google sync/g-backup full for contacts and call logs. All are on the android softwares thread.

Nandroid creates img files of boot, data, system partition of phone and ext partition of sd card. Anything found in those will be imaged and backed up so yes contacts, apps, SMS etc will be backed up. But you can only use this backup when you restore to the same backed up ROM and not after going to another ROM, please do not confuse nandroid backups with other (titanium or my backup pro) backups that can carry your settings from one ROM to another. Nandroid is like creating a system restore point in windows so that if anything goes wrong you can restore to it while being on the same OS. While titanium is like backing up in external HD so that after upgrading OS you can restore on new OS. New modems can increase signal and data speeds. Modem flashing is not required but you can try it out if your current modem is not giving good signal or 3G speeds, the modem version is there in settings > about phone > baseband. EE03 modem is rumored to improve 3G and should work on Froyo EC05 ROM also. I am on EC05 modem on Syndicate Frozen ROM EC05 1.1.1. Edit upgraded to EE03 modem now. The stock cable has worked fine with me and do not know why the video recommends other cable, go ahead and flash no need to buy different cable unless you have any issues in USB connection with the stock.

^ Sorry Ankur for the delay have attached, it is looping fast will need to read how to fix. You yourself can try editing the desc.txt. 480 800 15 - 480 800 is resolution, 15 is frames/sec p 0 3 part0 - p starts the loop, 0 means infinite loop, 3 means pause of 3 sec between frames, part0 means folder name - there must be one empty line at end Edit desc.txt only in notepad++ and in UNIX ANSI mode. When saving the .zip file use 7zip and use store no compression.

Thanks Pankaj, Amtrag, Abhishek, Kanaga ji, Kalpak sir. Nandroid is an android utility which backs up the entire ROM through recovery mode, it is sort of system restore point. Titanium backup or my backup pro are backup apps which backup apps/system data/SMS/call logs/contacts etc. They do not backup entire system.
-
^ Please use titanium backup (video in part 4) for apps and system data or my backup pro for apps, system data, contacts, call logs etc.

Reliance CDMA EVDO Activation Request Here For Aam Admi

The EVDO activation is problem for RCDMA do not think TI has issues in activating EVDO on OMH. Sent while mobile, apologies for typos or brevity. -
One has to admit Apple knows marketing. They take existing features from other OS and repackage it and boast they have best OS. The thing is they keep the user experience so simple that even such small additions are highly hyped up.
