  1. CDMA iPhone 4 Is Here!

^ Do not agree as the apps in posts above show data is being collected and why was Apple quiet for so long in refuting it then?
  2. Some great deals on refurbished laptops there too, anyone has a review of this website?
  3. While the intent is no doubt good, but who will ensure these are being implemented correctly, is the cyber crime cell adequately skilled/empowered?
  4. BSNL Goes Cash Negative

Much required but a stopgap solution, why should a PSU be made to pay for political compulsions? If rural sectors are not lucrative, then why only BSNL should get burdened with providing services there, why not private players are also made to be on level playing field?
  5. Think the count is not correct, now showing 1005 bought and sold out, how did 1 person buy if it was sold out?

  10. Internet Only 'partly Free' In India: Report

Big brother government, eh? When are we becoming Democratic People's Republic of Gandhistan? Feeling quite cynical at the worthlessness of our political system. Dr. Ambedkar will be spinning in his grave.

G'Five to bring low-cost Android smarpthones and tablets to India soon It was back in January when G’Five introduced 21 mobiles that we got an inkling it would be bringing low-cost Android tablets and netbooks to the country, with some basic devices present at the launch. Now, various reports over the past week confirm that G’Five will also be bringing entry-level and mid-range Android phones to the country. Jaideep Chopra, VP of G'Five, spoke to the Mobile Indian about the upcoming devices, saying: “We will enter the Android smartphone space with multiple devices with different hardware options, but all phones will be based on Android 2.1 version.” As for tablets, a 7-inch device is expected, with a capacitive touchscreen and an 800MHz processor, priced at around Rs. 13,000. Think Slate and other Lenovo Honeycomb tablets expected in 2011 A leaked PowerPoint presentation procured by ThisIsMyNextSite has revealed that Lenovo is developing other tablets apart from its U1 Hybrid. The first of these is called Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet or the Think Slate, which runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The Think Slate is powered by a dual-core Tegra 2 SoC, and has a 10.1-inch IPS display, with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. Bearing both front and rear cameras, it comes in three storage configurations, 16, 32 and 64GB. The capacitive N-Trig touchscreen will also support a stylus, what Lenovo calls a “true pen,” for both “sketching and note-taking.” It will offer both Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, as well as a wealth of ports and slots – USB 2.0, microUSB, SD card, and mini-HDMI. The tablet will also come with a “keyboard portfolio case,” which will presumably transform tablet into another tablet-laptop hybrid. The Think Slate will run Lenovo Family UI on top of Honeycomb, geared towards the enterprise with plenty of productivity, connectivity, and security features, including software from Cisco, Computrace, McAfee, and Symantec. The Think Slate should be arriving by Q3 2011. Another Lenovo tablet was spotted, an unnamed Tegra 2-powered Honeycomb device with a 7-inch 1280x800 pixel high resolution screen. As seen in the roadmap slide below, which is thought to be more than a few months old, the tablet may run Le OS instead of Android, but that seems quite unlikely now. It is expected to release in Q4 2011. Source
  13. i think this is wrong address no any body there to receive u r parcel Did your parcel get returned to sender because no one received it?
  14. Folks who have not received anything should directly file complaint for item not received. Because once you get an item even if incorrect it has to be shipped back at buyer's cost. No point to wait for the coin.

  16. Gadgets Of Our World

Google launches the closest thing to a real time machine Google's new "GigaPan Time Machine" application, which lets you zoom in and out of a time-lapse video without losing resolution. "With Time Machine, the cameras capture these image mosaics at regular intervals to create a video with hundreds of millions or even billions of pixels in each frame. The result is a video that viewers have the ability to zoom in on while it's playing and see incredible detail," Google wrote in a blog post (see video demo http://www.youtube.com/embed/Dk9WanUO_gg). For example, Google links to a video of potted plants growing from seed to full bloom. You can target where you zoom in and out to focus on certain leaves or flowers (you may even be able to spot a catepillar taking a chomp of a leaf). The panorama was created by taking photos every 15 minutes for 26 days, using a Canon PowerShot G10 mounted on an Epic Pro. The application, created by a team of researchers from Carnegie Mellon University, uses GigaPan photo technology, which involves "stitching" together high-resolution photos to create a panorama. You might have come across it while spying on people at President Obama's inauguration. It was also built using HTML 5, making it optimal to use with Chrome 7.0+, Google wrote. It works on Safari 5.0+ as well. Check it out at GigaPan's website, where you can also create your own time-lapse videos using stock photos. Source: thinkdigit.com

Samsung Galaxy S II available for pre-order in India, delivery in early May Here.
  18. Either way should not matter for refund. If the item has been sent with tracking (unlikely as these are generally marked as gifts) then seller would be able to prove that the item was received by buyer. Then the E-Bay complaint has to be made for "item not as described" instead of "item not received". Only drawback is the item has to be sent back at buyer's cost to the seller to claim refund (according to my experience unless E-Bay has changed rule). If the item has not been sent with tracking then best to make complaint for "item not received". In this case no need to send back incorrect item even if received. Bad seller, trying to inconvenience the buyer.
  19. vickSs, Might be gold coin worth more value than the HDD. Seriously though, file the complaint with EBay immediately if not done already.
  20. Internet Only 'partly Free' In India: Report

@Raccoon and @Ravi, I do agree with all the points you have mentioned however took objection to the term kleptocracy. Because it implies everyone in the government or official machinery is corrupt. Even if an overwhelming number of politicians and executives in India are corrupt, still there would be few who are not. The root of the problem is that everywhere from top to bottom there is dynastic politics involved (except the communists). That does not fit with the idea of democracy at all. Plus of course there is a monstrous level of corruption which ironically is fuelled by the common man. It is easy for us to blame the system because we are not part of it. However if we did not feed the system, it would not have become this bad. I would rather not use the term kleptocracy instead describe India right now as an oligarchy with a veneer of democracy.
