  1. Launching Soon: Samsung Galaxy Pro E1410

^ Rajan bhai you are correct, however the bar form factor is often easier to use, also slide out keyboards might develop snags later on which is often see in touch pro and N 6265, no moving parts means no chance of such defects. Bar QWERTY form factor is also more easily pocketable. The only present set which combines bar form factor with QWERTY and good Android experience is the Droid Pro, I feel manufacturers should target this BB user base more to wean away more users towards the green robot.
  2. This was in the works for quite some time, I might be vilified for saying this, but Google will move away from the free content model for some of it's products, some products might well continue to be ad-supported i.e. free to end user. The YouTube development is one example. Frighteningly Google was in talks with Verizon for premium internet and we will see more of such products wherein people who pay Google get premium services and those who do not become second class netizens.
  3. Launching Soon: Samsung Galaxy Pro E1410

Good info thanks, specs are quite good for the price, targeted towards BB user market.
  4. Have experience with fake drives, they are hacked to fool Windows, but during file copying the files get corrupted. I was going to buy this but office does not allow E-Bay, now after seeing E-Bay link and reviews here will not buy. The seller is based in China and item is in USA, first discrepancy. Other issues already highlighted by Dhiraj bhai and Rajan bhai. Everyone who has bought using PayPal rest assured you can file for dispute and get your money back.
  5. ^ Possibly true. Manish thanks for sharing, might help someone in similar issue.
  6. ^ One cannot report the seller to Ebay immediately just on basis of suspicion. Please wait and if the item does not get delivered or if the item is not genuine then open dispute. EBay will then check with seller and ask the seller to comply with the deal. If that fails then they will award the amount to buyer if buyer has paid through PayPal/PaisaPay. This is from my understanding, however I stand to be corrected if wrong.
  7. But Dhiraj bhai if the product does reach and if it is non genuine e.g. say it is 500 GB, then one has to ship it back to seller at own cost to claim refund, and the shipping cost is not refunded by buyer protection. Then it becomes a headache to ship to China as shipping cost will be high. I once sent back one fake 16 GB pendrive (bought for 15 GBP) from UK to China and the cost of shipping was 7 GBP. I am not saying deal is not genuine, probably will buy it myself, my post was just to highlight that PayPal buyer protection also has its downfalls.
  8. Port Back Offers/Plans For Coming Back To Reliance GSM

^ I doubt they can mislead like that, though it is better to get the offers in form of written communication. Narinderji the offers are quite good so if RGSM network is good in your area you could think of porting back. It is better you ask them to E-Mail you all their offers so that you can take an informed decision, and also in that way they cannot make false offers.
  9. If your Google Chrome browser is crashing often with error "Shockwave Flash has crashed" and/or "Google Gears has crashed", then try this: 1. Type 'about:plugins' in the address bar to bring up a list of plug-ins (or get there via the spanner key at top right of Chrome, then 'Options', 'Under the Hood', 'Content Settings', 'Disable Individual Plug-Ins'). 2. Click on the '+Details' tag in the top right corner. 3. Find the flash plug-ins section (was at the top in my list). 4. If you have 2 flash plug-ins listed, disable the one that DOESN'T have 'gcswf32.dll' at the end of its location. 5. Restart the browser. 11. Sprint Samsung Epic 4G - The Beast Is Here!

^ Some of the custom ROMs are zipaligned and png optimized which should theoretically improve speed when booting and when opening menus etc., especially if one has many applications installed.
  12. LG Optimus 2X Android With Tegra 2 Processor

Very competitive price considering N E7 is priced similar/more than this. Problem with LG is their marketing, somehow Samsung is more smart in creating an upmarket feel for their products which is very important for a buyer when paying 30K.
  13. Have gone on a shopping spree, bought the 8 GB microSD card and 8 GB pendrive. Thanks.
  14. Samsung Galaxy Fit Review

For a price of 12,860 in the market, the Samsung Galaxy Fit does very well when it comes to the price vs. performance ratio. Latest version of Android preinstalled, solid build quality and a very good camera make this a good deal, if you are looking for a phone in that price bracket. Pros Solid build quality (except for battery cover) Camera takes excellent still images Android 2.2 preinstalled Cons Colours look washed out on the display Battery cover is plasticy Look and Feel: Solid plastic! Straight out of the box, the Fit does look the part, when we talk about classy looking smartphones. The front panel houses the 3.3-inch screen, with the options and return buttons being the touch based type. These are given the glossy black finish, like the area above the display. A strip of chrome runs around the phone, giving it an element of shine. The menu button and the multidirectional keys with it however are hardware buttons. The left panel has the microSD slot and the volume up/down buttons. The microSD card slot on the side panel means that this one is completely hot swappable. The right side panel has the power on/off button, something which is usually found on the top panel. Speaking of which, there is the 3.5mm jack and the micro USB slot there. What is missing completely is a dedicated camera button. The rear panel has the camera, and the battery cover feels very plasticy. However, it has a nice imprint design on it, making it look chunkier than it actually is. Features: Almost there The Fit starts up to 3 home screens, for all your widgets. The strip at the bottom of the screen remains constant across all screens- messages, contacts, phone dialer and menu. This minimalist skin is wrapped around Android 2.2, which comes preinstalled on the phone. No worries about future updates and anything that may go wrong with them. The interface is pretty plain, with a no frills layout. Instead of the traditional scroll up/down app menu in Android phones, this phone has the sideways menu, much like that in the Bada OS in the Samsung Wave-II. Performance: The perfect Fit! Powered by the 600MHz processor, the Samsung Galaxy Fit will not win any processor power contests, but definitely does the job in this case. What helps is the minimalist skin (TouchWiz 3.0 UI) which Samsung have wrapped around the Android 2.2 OS, unlike some resource hogging skins some rivals offer. The processor does feel a bit of strain when multiple apps are open, but well within manageable limits. The 3.3 inch display has a resolution of 240x320 pixels, which is a huge disappointment. The display isn’t very sharp and the colours seem washed out. This is disappointing, because the display is something which is used always when using a phone, unlike the goodies like a camera or Wi-Fi connectivity. The touchscreen response, though, is excellent, which is a huge relief. The touch garners a sure response. This makes typing out SMS and emails a lot of fun. The on screen keypad, both in portrait and landscape modes, are pretty well laid (and spaced) out. The call quality offered by the Galaxy Fit is very good. The signal reception is quite consistent in Zone1 (full signal strength) and Zone2 (half signal strength), and the call clarity is very good. However, if the signal falls below 50%, the calls tend to drop quite a bit. However, the earpiece and the speaker offer a lot of clarity, which makes conversations easy even if you are in a noisy environment. The handsfree earphones are probably the best we have seen in phones for a long time. Not only are they extremely comfortable, they look like a mid-range Sennheiser earphone! The clarity offered by then is very good, but they lack the bass punch, in case you like listening to that kind of music. The 5MP camera, however, turned out to be the biggest surprise. We expected another standard phone camera, with so-so performance. However, this one put most 5MP snappers and even 8MP snappers in other phones to shame. If the camera is a priority for you, this may be the one to check out. The battery life of Android phones has improved off late. Two reasons for that actually. First, Android 2.2 is a bit lighter on the phone’s battery. Second, hardware manufacturers are optimizing their phones better. The Fit lasts a day and a half on normal use- calls, messages, a bit of web browsing and apps like Facebook and Google Talk active in the background. Our take: Fit for action For a box price of12,860 and a street price in the region of10,350, the Samsung Galaxy Fit does seem like a pretty consistent performer. The camera is superb, the build quality is extremely good and the entire package feels more expensive than it actually is. If you can live with the disappointing display, then this phone may very well be the one to buy. For this price, we can find almost nothing wrong with the phone! Specifications: Quad band GSM phone, 3G capable; 600MHz processor; Android 2.2 (Froyo) with TouchWiz 3.0 UI; 3.3 inch display (240x320 pixels); capacitive touchscreen type; microSD card slot (32GB expandable); Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; 1350 mAh battery Ratings: Features: 7.5 Performance: 6.5 Build: 7 Value: 7.5 Overall: 7 Source: thinkdigit.com
  15. The plans certainly look competitive, thanks for sharing.

  17. Anil’s Reliance charged,30000cr lost, says CBI OUR CORRESPONDENT New Delhi, April 2: The CBI today filed charges against A. Raja and eight others as well as three telecom companies, including Reliance Telecom, in connection with the 2G spectrum scam. The CBI has pegged the loss from the scam to the exchequer at30,984.50 crore because of fraudulent allotment of 2G licences. Besides naming the four earlier accused — Raja, his personal assistant R.K. Chandolia, former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and Shahid Usman Balwa — the CBI has indicted Vinod Goenka, Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara, Hari Nayar and Sanjay Chandra. Unitech Wireless and Swan Telecom have also been named in the agency’s first chargesheet along with Reliance Telecom. The comptroller and auditor general had estimated a presumptive loss upto1.76 lakh crore in the issuance of 2G spectrum licences. The revelation of the scam had pushed the UPA government to the wall and paralysed Parliament. Raja, Behura, Chandolia and Balwa had been booked for criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery under the IPC and under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The same charges also apply to Goenka, director of Swan Telecom, Chandra, the managing director, Unitech Ltd, Doshi, the group managing director of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani (ADA) Group, Surendra Pipara, group president of Reliance ADA, Hari Nair, senior vice-president of Reliance ADA. The chargesheet, running into about 80,000 pages, was carried in seven aluminium trunks before the judge .P. Saini in the special designated court, constituted recently for speedy trial. In January 2008, Raja had granted licences to nine firms — Datacom (now Videcon Telecom), Swan Telecom (now Etisalat DB), Unitech Wireless (now Uninor), Loop Telecom, STel, Allianz, Idea, Aircel and Spice. The agency first registered a case against unknown officials of the department of telecommunication in October 2009. They swung into action only after being rapped by the Supreme Court for delaying the investigation. During the probe several top executives of telecom companies including Reliance Communications, Tata Infrastructure, Essar, Loop Telecom, Spice, Aircel and others were grilled. The agency had also questioned Anil Ambani as his company once held shares in Swan Telecom. Radia mention Corporate lobbyist Niira Radia and attorney-general G.E. Vahanvati are among the 125 prosecution witnesses named in the chargesheet. Vahanvati figures as witness number 32 in the CBI chargesheet while Radia is placed 44th on the list. Tata & Spice ‘hit’ The CBI has claimed that Tata Tele Services and Spice Communication were hit hard by the collusion of Raja and some industrialists in the allocation of 2G spectrum, PTI reports. The chargesheet said Tata Tele Services and Spice Communications, which had priority over Swan Telecom in terms of the dual technology approvals, were “unreasonably deprived” spectrum allocation for the Delhi region.
