MNP Retention Offer You Received
digitalnirvana replied to rajanmehta's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
Yes, I know that it could work in the passive way. But if you call CC and actively ask to be transferred the retention dept. and ask them for retention plans, will that work? I doubt it. Anyway, I did send a port request from my RGSM twice. No calls from them at all. They ain't bothered. When directly calling CC and asking for transfer to retention department they generally ask for the issue and try to put caller on hold and check themselves rather than transferring, however in some cases they do transfer after you describe the issue and if mentioning that you have already talked to retention department for the issue. Note CC told me there is a specific MNP retention department who can offer the retention offers, there is seemingly another retention department which deals with same operator grievance e.g. postpaid to prepaid conversion or number termination. Not sure if this is valid information though, hence I suggested generating port code and talking to MNP retention department. -
MNP Retention Offer You Received

They offered me for 3 months because they also gave a lower rental plan to me, 440 in place of my existing 770, and they told me that the system allowed maximum of 3 months only. Suggest you could talk to them and see what they are offering. Plus as Rajan bhai has correctly said they can renew the discount in slabs of 3 months, try talking and see what they offer. Moreover it seems you are OK to be with RCDMA for very long period so why do you not go for ARP4999 plan then? Rental comes to 417+tax per month instead of 440+tax, plus call charges of local at 40p and STD at 75p vs 99p and 1.49 rupees as in 440 plan. This will offer you some saving. Plus note than 440 is discontinued plan so if you do circle change it will lapse while ARP4999 is active plan so it works across circles. -

^ Cannot say for sure that they will oblige it depends on the retention officer involved and level of grievance of the customer, but generally if one gives a port request then call CC they would transfer to MNP retention department, after that it is the customer's onus to extract a retention offer according to requirement. If you go through this thread some people have got incredible retention offers. -

MNP Retention Offer You Received
digitalnirvana replied to rajanmehta's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
^ It is for 3 months and activated from next billing cycle after they retain. The CC do not give out the retention plans, there is a MNP retention department who offer these, you should first generate a port code then they would call you to retain, else you can call them up and ask CC to transfer to MNP retention department. -
^ OK thanks, I just did some quick search and found out that at the moment the known 3D DTH operators do require 3D glasses e.g. Sky 3D in UK (http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/3d/get-sky-3d/) Indian DTH operators should note BSkyB offer free Sky 3D upgrade to anyone with Sky world HD box and 3D TV. However there are some TVs which do not need 3D glasses like http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-20018421-17.html ,would be a better viewing experience.

Good info thanks, for this 3D content does one need to wear 3D glasses?

^ Yes CC explanation is this is due to customer preference as customers wanted all changes to be aligned to billing cycle otherwise it was confusing for customers for mid cycle changes. Who will explain to CC why a customer would want retention benefits to be applicable from next cycle. -

Hm so I thought so they are not offering true android market. The firmware version in screenshot does show 2.1, the kernel which you have highlighted is a custom kernel so even though not official it does not necessarily mean something wrong. Thanks for your efforts in spotting though. And Genius your comment is hilarious LOL - "chinese humans".- 6,376 replies

Firstly, this has got nothing to do with telecommunications at all. This is just a crazy piece of news I read and wanted to share. If not appropriate then mods do delete. In these times of global hardship when the japanese, new zealanders, millions of third world countries desperately need charity money, the behavior of this rich spoilt chinese brat is unexplainable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7I8jvBqjFA Source: http://ax3battery.com/2011/03/15/dissatisfied-chinese-lamborghini-owner-decides-to-smash-it-up/

Could recognize few products which are already there - surface glass, flexible LCD which can be rolled up and glass interface. Now need some sort of ecosystem vendor to integrate all these. Apple or MS?

MNP Retention Offer You Received

Is this effective immediately or like RCDMA whose waiver offers are applicable from next billing cycle. Also RCDMA plan changes offered for retention are applicable from next billing cycle and not mid cycle. -
Irresistable Deals In Electronics, Gadgets, Mobiles, PC Hardware
digitalnirvana replied to rajanmehta's topic in General Technical Discussion
This one does not have phone chip but says has market, confused because market for tabs will not be there till 3.0 and this runs 2.1. Any idea? that is Chinese product That is true, but my question was how they are able to offer market on 2.1, because market is not supported for tabs till 3.0 unless the tab also has phone chip like galaxy tab. The product info does not mention it has phone chip but clearly mentions it has market. Otherwise the product looks good VFM.- 6,376 replies

MTS Launches Android Phone MTS Pulse
digitalnirvana replied to rajanmehta's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
This is good plan with the contract, there should be more such bundled offers introduced by operators, it is the only way for them to increase RPU and the customer benefits by not having to pay for handset upfront. Generally after contract ends the operator might offer an upgrade to the customer so they have retention too. -
TATA Sky+ HD PVR @3999/- - Is this a game changer for Tata Sky?
digitalnirvana replied to kesav's topic in The Lounge
^ Completely true. And one more thing I wanted to ask here, in other countries HD channels are priced higher compared to SD channels e.g. for Sky+ HD box is mostly used for viewing Sky Sports HD which has higher subsciption cost that Sky Sports. Is same happening here? -

I get messages telling me I am on DND so the companies cannot call me. What is the point of DND if it only applies to calls and messages still come. -
