    ^ Is Nokia completely moving out of CDMA or is it that their handsets are not coming here? If first case then how is it surviving in mainly CDMA countries like USA/Japan? If it plans to push Symbian/Meegoo to wider audience I would have thought it would attack both GSM and CDMA for maximum coverage.

    Personally I prefer books, my father always used to gift books, but overall from this thread I think some sort of outgoing/physical activity is logical choice. Not sure if this has been mentioned before but have you considered pets? A dog might be, or an aquarium? Dogs can be very good companions and instill a sense of responsibility.

    ^ True RCDMA seems to have been taken completely off guard by the MNP developments. I recall when MDA led RIM was trend setter in everything, how the mighty have fallen.
  9. Off topic but in Rimweb home page sponsored links it is showing MNP ads for both Airtel and Tata Docomo. The Docomo ad is more informative while the Airtel one simply says move and get a surprise. Found it ironic that even on Rimweb (originally meant for RCDMA), RCOM has not given any MNP ads. Pah.

    Wait & watch Bro, they wont let high usage postpaid customers slip away. Once you place a MNP request, they would call you within 24 hours. They did not, I called CC and asked to be converted to prepaid as my postpaid plan is not VFM, instead of trying to retain he said but you have a porting request. I told him I would either convert to prepaid or port than stick with high rental postpaid plan. He then said engineer will call back with better plan. I would not say my ARPU is very high but definitely it is much higher than average. Baffled by CC.

    @igloo Dear friend, in other countries, where MNP implemented long ago, it works like this only. Very true Kamal bhai. This is a very important point for those with onnet unlimited calls so thanks for clarifying this.

    Better err on the side of caution Rajan bhai, all browsing (except maybe IM) will download something to the buffer, e.g. if you browse YouTube for sure heavy data will be downloaded to buffer, even though you did not specifically download something to your mobile. But great thing that they are openly allowing imported handsets. RCom and TI - wake up and smell the coffee! Grrr.

    I sent port request yesterday from my RCDMA number, got the porting code. Was expecting atleast someone would call and enquire why am I porting as I am high ARPU customer (Rs 1200+ on normal bill and ~ Rs 1500 on times when I am on roaming) but got no calls till now. Getting determined to port, or at least to switch to RCDMA prepaid with lower tariff.
  18. Hi Saurav, But this is not operator porting. It seems you want to be with RCDMA and change the plans within same operator itself. So why do you not call RCDMA CC and ask for change of plan on MDN A? Or am I misunderstanding your post?

    They must not be expecting any port ins lol that is why they are not bothering with telling WW of process, else by now they would have been active like other operators trying to woo customers. How did the WW people react when you told them you wanted to port in did they gasp and fall off their chairs?

    ^ Rudradeep, Tariff war will only come if MDA comes and shakes up the market. Others are followers, MDA is leader. Just my opinion though and would be happy to see a tariff war with consumers benefiting.

    What is RCOM upto though Rajan bhai the "Shashwat" project is not viable, there was an earlier attempt for a $10 computer with poor results. The ministry of IT/Telecom/HRD should sponsor promising startups like Notion Ink instead of inventing such devices. NI did not even have money to rent a booth at CES effectively killing off the Adam due to lack of publicity.
