Unable to receive calls on HTC EVO 4G - Callers getting "Not Reachable" message

Hi, I have a sprint blackberry flashed to reliance. I can make calls from the phone but problems happen if someone is trying to call me - they always get a 'phone not reachable' message, and my phone also does not ring. Also, SMS's take 20-30 minutes to reach other people and the same if they send to me. Anyone know what the problem could be? -
BlackBerry 8130 PRL changed, but it still shows Sprint
omitav posted a topic in Technical / OS related
I have a new cdma BB 8130 that I have flashed with the Reliance OS as well as the reliance PRL. It now shows the bars in the top right corner but when i go the 'services status' screen, under the 'Mobile Network provider' it says Sprint PCS! How is that possible since the PRL is from reliance? I even tried wiping it with JL-commander and nuking it with MFI, but it still shows Sprint network. Have I missed something? Any help is appreciated. -

tried all *228xyz numbers, same error - call failed, activation unsuccessful @shanusmarty - how do i get the number transfered to the BB MEID? I did try going to the webworld to get their help but they said that they cant help since the phone wont do a *228 @aankush - yes, the number is still active on a RUIM. I tried it on 2 handsets (LG and Motorola XT800), and it worked on both of them (that's how I got the MIN number) @ankurcshah - boss, i had a lot of trouble typing this message, salma is way too distracting :-) -

That's the whole problem, the bb is not able to do the *228 routine. The call fails when I try that number -

Hmmm, got it. So that means I have to 'officially transfer' the number to this min first. But the BB8130 is unable to do a *228, how do I get the meid associated with the min? -

Yes, that is pretty much what I was trying. -

hmmm, i thought that probably the reason why the phone won't work :-( so any ideas why the phone won't work? - ESN/MEID is registred with reliance - the MDN is already activated (using a RUIM on a android handset), and I have put the MIN number in the second row of the BB programming screen - PRL is updated, auth key is updated, SID/ NID is updated -
Hi gurus's, I need some help with a phone that i'm trying to get working. It's a BB 8130, flashed from sprint to ril, ril prl loaded, meid is also registered with ril now. the phone sees the network and i get a good signal. but the moment i dial *228 it says call failed but if i dial *225 then i get the relaince message asking me to contact cust care for resuming service. is this normal? i went to the web world and they told me that they cannot activate the handset since *228 is not working :-( what do i need to do to get this working? any help is highly appreciated! Thanks

Can any kind soul guide on on how to get the MIN number please? Long story short - I have a new MDN but it just won't activate on any handset that I have. If there's any other way to activate a LG2030 that I have (apart from *228 or *228001) then I could take it from there. Thanks
-
Here's my update (hope it's not as confusing as my earlier posts :-)) - i tried activating my new MDN from 3 different phones (2030, 3100 and a 2340) and neither of them worked - after dialing *228, i can only get as far as the language selection. After selecting language i get the "your phone cannot be activated" message :-(

-
oops sorry, i meant that I got an MDN number and put that there. but that is a good idea - to activate on another handset and use the min here. let me try that. and just to make sure - I need to put the MIN number in the IMSI field? (that's what the second line says on the BB)
-
Thanks Genius, I got a new MIN and did ##spc on the phone, the first line is mdn so I put the mobile number there' while the second line is IMSI. What should I put there?

Just tried that but same result - call failed :-(

I've been checking all this time, but now I just can't find that site again :-(. As far as I remember, I had seen it on Sulekha.com about 10-15 days ago, but now the price has gone up again. The lowest that I see now is on Infibeam Rs.9489. I'm still looking, so if I find it again, I'll post it here.

there is a reason why some sellers are giving it away for 5500 - coz a lot of people who buy it complain about it and often bring it back to the shop.

I've been using the XT800 for 6 months now and have a really hard time with it - it took a long time to get my MS Exchange mails working on it since 2.1 does not support Exchange. Even after a lot of searching and discussing with the developers, I found that the community is not really inetrested in this model since it is obsolete. The only developers whoa re still working on it are chinese and that doesn't really help since thier forums and sites are all in chinese (even google translation doesnt really help much). The phone has a locked bootloader due to which rooting and custom OS flashing are a real pain - recovery files are not available, so you cannot flash a cyanogen or MUIU rom! the samsung is easier to root and overclock, so you'll get more bang for your buck is you go for that and actually need less time tweaking the phone to your needs. Btw, the XT800 is available for as less Rs.5500, look around a bit ;-)

still not worth buying. motorola has stooped support for this model and the os is now stuck at 2.1 which has serious shortcomings to it. you should prefer the samsung galaxy ace duos, it has v2.3 on it.
-
u should look at the Samsung Galaxy Ace duos instead of the Motorola - http://www.infibeam.com/Mobiles/i-Samsung-Galaxy-Ace-Duos/P-E-M-Samsung-S6802-Galaxy-Ace-Duos.html?id=Black. u can install the chinese 2.2 version, that one allows you to install apps on teh sd card, making it practically unlimited.

the only CDMA+GSM androids that I have seen in the market are teh Motorola XT800 and the Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos. don't think spice and gfive have any android models. anyway, while I think that the XT800 is a good phone, the unfortunate thing is that Motorola India has stopped supporting the model and are not going to be providing any OS updates beyond the v2.1 that comes with the phone. Chinese XT800 are the only one's that have a v2.2 available so far, and even that is not likely to reach 2.3! a lot of chinese folks have managed to load cyanogen and Ho No rom's on the XT800, but since this information is not available on the net in English it's been tough to replicate it here. I've been using the 2.2 chinese rom (it has an english option) for several months now and I'm quite happy with it. all in all, if you really are planning to buy a CDMA+GSM android, Samsung is a better choice - the company is less likely to discontinue support.
-
Hi, where are the chinese ROM's available? would be great of you could point me to some URL's, and if possible the procedure for updating the OS. Thanks a ton

Hello all After an eternity my uncle has finally bought a new phone, since he couldn't get a new battery for the RD 2340 :-) But now the problem is in getting his address book from the old phone into a new phone. I've looked around but couldn't find a working cable for connecting the LG RD 2340 to the PC. Would anyone know which cable fits the phone? and where could I get it? If someone can loan me the cable, I will make sure I return it to you in pristine condition. Any help would be highly appreciated - coz otherwise my uncle will make me manually type 800 contacts from the old phone in to the new one :-(((( and i really don't want to do that.
