Only 3 Telcos See Rise In Sept Revenue
srk006 replied to Himanshu Singh's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
^^^ I too share the same opinion.. Revenues are not going to see a drastic fall as these telcos project/pretend to happen.. It may just be their gimmick to create a soft-corner in govt for some subsidies/tax-sops(just my stupid opinion... he he.. ...) Govt. is already considering giving license-fee relief to BSNL.. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/news-by-industry/telecom/BSNL-may-get-licence-fee-relief-to-regain-lost-ground/articleshow/5418286.cms -
Only 3 Telcos See Rise In Sept Revenue
srk006 replied to Himanshu Singh's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
and these three (Aircel, RCOM and Tata) offers the lowest tariff.. so what is the moral of the story -
With the current tariff with NUC on CDMA no one will remain on CDMA after MNP(Even after making High end OMH enabled Handsets available). If you are a heavy internet user, one will be tempted to move to either RGSM or TD. I hope RCOM take a fast decision to stop charging NUC on CDMA..
-
well... exactly same problem for Google Maps(without GPS) "My location ". When I was in Chennai, "My Location " is shown some where in Mumbai. I feel RCOM has not set up their towers to map to a location; all locations point to their Mumbai server or so... Any expert answer on this??

Its nice tariff.. comes to just 50p/1Mb with smaller pulse of 20kb With night free data usage its better than RGSM's new GPRS plans. -
Here's the quote from TRAI regulation details for MNP so no worries... wait for MNP!!

Raja Puts Bsnl-mtnl Merger On Back-burner
srk006 replied to savramesh's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
^^^ well.. Their union doesn't want to dilute stake.. for that the company must survive in the long run... to accomplish that they will need to do (sooner or later) what I said above... -
Raja Puts Bsnl-mtnl Merger On Back-burner
srk006 replied to savramesh's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
What is the actual motive of selling stake in BSNL to public? (Anyone, Any idea?? ) As I see, there is no need of cash. BSNL is having surplus of thousands of crores. How does selling stake increase revenue and hold market share? It doesn't. BSNL just needs to remove those non-working, non-committed, inefficient staff(both top-execs as well as lower cadres) and replace them with qualified and energetic people! -
^^^ that's wrong. MNP is technology neutral. You can freely shift from CDMA to GSM and vice-versa

MNVOs may break even faster... Their investment is just a fraction of what these mobile operators pour in. -

The BSNL site says there is no need to change the SIM and you can use the existing 2G SIM..
-
I tried to migrate existing 2G prepaid to 3G by sending SMS. Got reply "Invalid Symbol". Looks like its just an official announcement. Full launch is going to take some more months.
