Something strange is happening for sure. I am not getting the IND 11 signal from past 2-3 hours while manual scan. Seems some work is going on and they have switched off their BTS.

Today in some news channel(I think CNBC 18) there was a scroll news that Reliance will be launching GSM in 200 cities... some thing like that... Though there was no further details on that.

I feel EVDO will definitely come to India. The auction for EVDO spectrum will happen soon after the allocation of 3G-GSM spectrum with the same price as that of 3G-GSM. Also there are spectrum for 2 operators in EVDO(One may be pre-alloted to BSNL) and the allocation is based on the number of subscribers(RCOM is No.1!! ). And if RCOM doesn't grab this opportunity Tata will definitely take this!! So CDMA is NOT going to die

If each operator starts to select particular circles instead of a pan-India launch, 3G is going to be a BIG flop!

^^ yes 28th is mere speculation but there was an official communication some time back that GSM will be launched in some 200 towns towards the end of the year.

I am sure that low users who had taken Reliance connection just for voice is not going to shift to GSM. Why would they want to invest in another handset for no real reason?
