ok Now as you have Wifi Modem Set up Its security Follow the following steps: 1>connect your desktop to your modem. 2>now Open Your browser(Internet explorer,mozilla,google chrome or any 1 you use) 3>type in address bar 192.168.1.1 it will ask for Id n pass. 4>enter Id as admin and password also as admin 5>now you will see lots of option click wireless connection. 6>then security add key WEP or WPA or WPA2 as you wish . 7>Save And reboot. 8>now when your Laptop connects to wifi ,enter the same key to access it . now your Wifi Is secured

Wifi Routers Also Acts As Switch And they are not as expensive they Cost Jus About The Same Cisco Wifi ADSL costs about 1750 Belkin is Xpensive but worth 2750 You also get iball switches/modems for 1500s range so they cost jus about the same

now a day all wifi modems have 2-4 Lan Ports on them so its kinda gonna work for him if he has lan port on the wifi modem...

I agree with Tanveer 100% i have wifi + lan in my office so we have all pcs on LAN with internet and i connect my laptop in my cabin thru wifi thats the best thing No wires No troubles....but when you buy a wifi dont forget to keep it secured by adding WEP or WPA Keys for access...

yes that can be done i had seen a video on how to do that ? but involves lots of crimping and stuff also you wont be able 2 share internet unless you using router or wifi modem... [kindly correct me if i am wrong]
