same here even I'v fell in love with linux in recent past I installed ubuntu a month back when I first faced this problem and thereafter with help of this and other forums I'v customised it almost to replace XP and what less I'v got gaim messenger on which I can chat simultaneously on yahoo/msn/icq/aim and evolution onwhich I can download all pop mails at once... skype which I'v almost configured and I can work on all my windows documents using open office... and know the best part the cd was deliverd to me free of cost(postage and handling included).... Guys linux is rocks and Windows s**ks

See this for me it is >120 kbps but i think its not correct speed becos whenever i tried this while my adobe upgrade was on it showed me speeds 65-67kbps only so its not takin into account the whole internet speed its just taking the browser speed which will be much lesser in any case... @raccon- Can you carry your broadband 256kbps(upload only) to your work.... Can you use it on your way to work(in car)... Can you use it in while you are on vacations say at Goa... he he he he ha ha ha ho ho ho Then dont act stupid and make fun of yourselves... think before you post...

I think sms service is working and just try calling on reliance network... I spoke to my relatives on reliance....in the evening it was working till 9 at least

tried it for a week now... scans are fast and automatic updates are available... No spyware reported yet so cant comment about the scan reliability... but then so was the case with MS Antispy it hardly ever reported any threat to me...

It happens with my 6130 all the time if I disconnect internet and I have to reconnect it I have to remove the phone from Usb and reconnect it to connect internet o/w I get the same msg....

kshah- Even I agree to you I have had been waiting to quit reliance asap but only thing that holds me here is internet on the move... I roam all across india and hold a NJ149data with onnet sms pack... I get a average download speed of 55 MB per hour.... and pay 400+50/pm... If anyone could suggest me with a cheaper service than this I would anytime change over from this stupid ADA network...(I dont mind buying a data card or a tata phone) I dont care much about voice plans cos I gen speak to my relatives on voice chat... Only thing I am worried about is this uncertainity in plans from reliance...

Hi, Best way is to configure wvdial as suggested in one of the post on this forum. Create file /etc/wvdial.conf Replace xxxx with remaining digits of your phone no. and /etc/resolv.conf Set your mobile instrument data rate to 115200. You can ignore other instructions in that post (like modprobe uhci etc.). They are not required in Ubuntu 5.04.Connect the instrument to USB port. Open a terminal and type: and watch that you are getting connected to the net./etc/wvdial.conf is a file owned by root so you have to give: command to edit.I hope it works on your handset. If so how? If I am trying to log on from other user its giving errors.... Hey guys anyone any progress on rconnect with ubuntu. I tried downloading the latest version of there file from reliance site it gives option for all the reliance phones however if you select older models like 2030 and 2130 it gives an option to select com or usb port and If I select 6130 it tries on com port by default and straightaway goes to dialup dialogue... the problem you are facing could be due to network I stay on first floor of a building where my bedroom is the first construction towards nearest reliance tower... I get good speed just six flats away I have my fren on ground floor...... I just cant connect net using netconnect....

Something is better than nothin... N I do have a gmail account too...
