The Flashing software for Nokia Phones is called 'DIEGO'. Its called a PST which sands for Point of Sale Tool. PS. Mods plz note that I'm only being informative, but I respect the rules of this forum so if u feel that this is illegal plz feel free to delete it.

what about 6255...does it also require the new firmware to work with a RUIM card ?!?
-
Don't go for the 6255 dude...it's a bad choice. As for me...I'm thinking of getting rid of it and going for either a Motorola RAZR V3 or a Sony Ericsson W550i/W800i/Z800i...and as always indecision plagues me. I wish I could make up my mind...

Well, at least u guys had better experience than me. What I did was took my 6255 to a Nokia Care Centre in Kolkata and soon found out that it was a much smaller and ugly looking place compared to the GSM Nokia Care. As I entered I was greeted by rude and ignorant male receptionist who considered himself to be the heir of Nokia Inc. or something... Next to him was a guy of around 23-24(age) who was the only one amongst the 11 people present in that place who showed some interest in the customers, but I soon found out what kind of a jerk he was. As I was explaining to him the nature of my problems which were 1) very low signal reception & 2) frequent dropped calls, my phone suddenly rang and it was an edited mp3 file...the song Yuhi Chala from Swadesh to be precise. . Even though there were no really hot looking girls around this guy has a sudden pang of jealousy. He immediately whips out his phone, which was a Nokia 6170 or a similar looking one and frantically starts sampling his own collection of mp3 ringtones while throwing occasional sarcastic glances at me...just like a girl. . Man I'm telling u it was 4:30 P.M and I was hungry (didn't have anything to eat since morning tea&snacks) and I had a terrible headache (sinusitis)...else I would have kicked his punk as* very badly I swear. What he did next was he told me that there are absolutely no fixes for these problems and that it comes with every Nokia CDMA phone and I'll just have to live with it. When I still insisted he started to simply ignore me. I already told u the physical state I was in so I rather tried to reason with him instead of slamming my fist up his jaw. I told him that they must know a way to fix it after all they know the SPC codes and all, at this point he got up went inside the main office room behind a glass door with a "No Unauthorised Personnel" sign on it and it seemed that he and all the staff were having a short meeting with their boss who seemed like this guys elder brother or cousin cause he was calling him bhaiya. A minute later this guy, the boss or who was in charge there comes up to me and tells me that and I quote him " Aap jitna bhi mange ya aap jo bhi offer karein hum aapko woh SPC nehi denge, samjhe aap. Aab jaa sakte hain or koi help hum aapko nehi kar sakte". Whaaa...WTF...I was too tired to argue or say another word so I left. I called the Nokia Care hotline and relayed to them the entire incident and their reply was "We shall escalate your concern to the relevant department and assist you in the best possible way". I leave it for the readers to judge who is really to blame the Nokia Care personnel, Nokia or God...for creating such imbeciles.

Installing Rconnect Without Dialer S/w, Cd &...
Achilles replied to Utsav's topic in Technical / OS related
Utsav, The problem is with Windows 98. What brand motherboard do u use. If its Intel then there are updated drivers available in their website. If it is Asus or Gigabyte then i'm sorry to say that it's going to be a serious pain in the a**. But there is a much more easier solution; simply upgrade to Windows 2000 SP4 or Windows XP SP2 and ur problem solved. In case of Win2K u might still need the drivers, but trust me they are much more reliable than the Win9x ones. The Win9x USB 2.0 drivers more of emulates a hi speed USB 2.0 evironment than add actual support. I hate to say stuff against Windows 98 u know. Windows 98 gives me a very nostalgic feeling of going back to the years I bought my first PC, a PIII (when it first came out) for 40k, with preinstalled 98SE(good 'ol days). I simply loved it. Even today, whilst using a Windows XP MCE & Windows 2003 I still miss Win98. The reason being Win98 is almost a hybrid between a 16bit and a 32bit OS, its too damn old and has limited support a new technology like USB 2.0(480 Mbps data transfer rate) and absolutely no support for technologies like HTT, SATA, PCIe etc. It's sad but for sake of technology we have got to put it to rest. Sorry 4 the long lecture (but I get sooo emotional when talking about Windows 98 ) Follow this link to know more; http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/n...02august05.mspx -
I stand corrected...no incorrected...er corrected...I mean er...uhh..whatever Confused would be the right term to use I suppose. Could we please reach a fair consensus on this EVDO myth Guys BTW, anujit u said u get a 130+ with RConnect...How the Hell?!? I use an LG LSP340E to connect and it gives a max speed of 115.2 kbps...or atleast thats what it says in the system tray network connection icon. I get a download speed of 11.5 kbps max when using getright. Please tell me u know a way to increase those limits... or else the only option I've got left is DataOne(BSNL)...and a lot of ppl say that it's crap. Thanks in advance.

WHOA Wait a freakin' minute...u sure that theLG RD7230 is a EVDO enabled handset?!? I mean I knew it had a Qualcomm 3G chipset but EVDO!!! And I bought this damn Nokia 6255 thinking that just because it had a RUIM slot it was EVDO enabled?!? DUH...DOUBLE DUH BTW, tell me is it unwise for me to sell my old RD7230? Should I wait a few yrs and see if they actually have the balls enough to launch 3G services?!? Any advice on this my dear 4G friends? Thanks in advance. PS. 4G=4th Gen.

Secret Service Codes for All LG Handsets
Achilles replied to net_secrets's topic in Technical / OS related
Hi Fellas, Any codes for LG RD7230 ?!? Absolutely any will do...even the IMI check code... Just wanna see whether it supports any...before I sell the damn thing NOTE: #LGCDMA#*RD7230* DOES NOT WORK So Long, Achilles. PS. With some updated software, MP3 support and bluetooth would have made the 7230 a legendary phone...duh -
Guys,..Guys, thanks 4 the replies but I'm afraid u misunderstand me!!! Looks aren't the only thing I'm interested in...of course looks does matter a little,..I mean really now, How many of u go out with Ugly girlfriends?!? What I mean is looks does matter, but very little...not as much as features do. I've seen Smart Phones in action. My sister has the Nokia 6600 and to tell u the truth I don't think its' that damn smart. For instance, compared to the 6255, the 6600 is a Symbian 60 series phone but doesn’t even support MP3 files..I mean, what the heck is the Real One player for man, only videos...ridiculous. The Symbian 60 OS is laggy and the only good thing about it is, I think, the support for themes (unlike 6255) and Symbian games, leave that aside, I think 6255 is a far superior phone with a better speaker quality and the support for animated GIF wallpapers. On the other hand the RAZR V3 brandishes a 176x220 screen compared to 128x160 of the 6255 and the no. of colour is also 262,000 in the RAZR compared to 65,536 of the 6255. Its just like comparing between a Windows 98-800*600-24bit colour desktop with a Windows XP-1024*768-32bit one...and also the RAZR is a quadband phone. One more interesting fact I came to know about the RAZR is that it has an inbuilt ATI graphics accelerator. Cool, huh. Nevertheless I'm not trying to patronise the RAZR V3 just trying to say that this phone has impressed the hell outa me...but I haven't yet seen it in action. Have any of u guys had the honours, please do tell. The 6255 is the second phone I've used till date; my first one was the dreaded LG RD7230...an unadulterated piece of crap. I'd guess our grandfathers used better phones than the RD7230, so I'm trying to do a lot of research before I get my third, hope u guys understand. Thanks again to all of u for posting replies. So long. Cheers, Achilles. PS. Sorry for the Ugly girlfriend joke...was just trying to make a point there.

Achilles started following Nokia 6255 Vs Motorola Razr V3
-
Hi Fellas, This is Ayan from Kolkata. I know that this is kinda silly a topic but u see, I’ve been reading the posts about problems with the Nokia 6255, although the only problems I’ve been facing are- a very low network reception signal with occasional call drops and the glass atop the LCD is kinda loose so dust accumulates behind the glass giving the screen a dirty look. So I’ve decided better to be safe than sorry I'm going to get rid of this handset, get rid of my Reliance connection (sadly enough... ...kinda got used to it) and move on to a Motorola RAZR V3 with a GSM connection. Now the big question is...IS IT WORTH IT? Is RAZR V3 that great a set? I’ve had no prior experience with it except images and reviews from the net. I hugely prefer the clamshell design and a price tag below 20k. So I was wondering perhaps some of u guys could help me with this. Any help, absolutely any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cheers, Ayan alias Achilles. PS. This is my first post so I hope I'm not breaking any regulation; if so, my apologies.
