Microsoft has released Windows Mobile 6.0 OS at 3GSM in Barcelona, The OS, called Windows Mobile 6, will be available in the 2Q of 2007, offering an interface that resembles the recently launched Windows Vista. With Windows Mobile 6, users will be able to view e-mails in their original HTML format and follow Web links from their phones. Windows Mobile 6 also will offer instant messaging and more robust editing capabilities for documents created in Office applications, such as Word and Excel. Formerly codenamed Crossbow, Windows Mobile 6 boasts better search capabilities than predecessors, and stronger. Smartphones using the OS will be able to encrypt data stored internally on the device and also on a removable memory card. When used in enterprise settings, I.T. departments will be able to tweak security policies to require that users change their passwords regularly and use both numbers and letters, for example. An additional change that has been put in place but will not come into play until later is support for Voice over Internet Protocol. Microsoft is not including software for VoIP calls, but has designed the system to allow carriers and device makers to include that capability if they wish to do so. A number of vendors, including HP, Motorola and Toshiba have already announced their Windows Mobile 6 based offerings.

At the 3GSM show, Nokia unveiled an array of devices and services, including the next generation of Eseries devices, plus navigation and Mobile TV devices targeted at the mass market to lead the next phase of mobility. Nokia announced a trio of new Eseries devices, designed for business professionals, including E61i emailer device, E65 slider, and E90 Communicator, each packed with features and using 3G and WLAN technologies plus the flexible S60 software platform. The devices also feature high-quality cameras. The E90 Communicator is claimed to be an all inclusive business device with advanced technologies, such as HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) and integrated GPS. It is expected to be available during the second quarter of 2007, with volume global availability during third quarter of 2007. The E65 slider is now available in select markets, with volume availability scheduled for the first quarter of 2007, while the E61i will be available during the second quarter of 2007. Nokia also released its first mass market navigation-enabled mobile phone, the 6110 Navigator. Using integrated GPS (Global Positioning System), the phone enables consumers quickly and easily view their current location on map, search for destinations, find specific routes, or locate nearby services such as restaurants, hotels, or shops. In addition, the full turn-by-turn 3D navigation feature suggests the best route using voice or visual instructions on a map. The Navigator phone is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2007. Another Nokia device unveiled at the 3GSM show is the N77 multimedia phone designed to accelerate the taking-up of DVB-H mobile TV devices. This particular market is predicted to reach between 5 to 10 million units by end of 2008, and around 20 million units by the end of 2009. The N77 is an easy to use and stylishly mobile TV device featuring a 2.4-inch wide screen with up to 16 million colors, high quality stereo sound, alerts when programs are starting, and a guide to view program information for up to seven days, browse TV channels, and purchase new channels. This device is expected to start shipping during the second quarter of 2007 in countries where DVB-H services are available. Nokia also launched the Nokia Video Center, an application that brings together all sources of mobile video. The service combines branded video services, Internet videos, and sideloaded videos from the PC in one single place. According to Nokia, this device will be available globally in markets where Nseries devices are sold. In addition, it will be first pre-installed in the N95, and will then be available for download to other Nseries devices. As of now, the company has tied up with YouTube and Reuters as global content partners. Apart from this, Nokia also introduced the new 3110 classic, a device with a contemporary design and applications including an FM stereo radio, music player with expandable memory, video ringing tones, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. It offers a wide range of conventional features, and is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2007. Also unveiled at the show was Nokia Bluetooth Display Car Kit "CK-15W," offering features that enable easy in-car communications. Compatible with the 3110 classic and a wide range of other devices, CK-15W is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2007. Amongst the array of devices, Nokia also announced the launch of Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite 8.0 mobileware, claimed to be the industry's most flexible platform, providing mobile email, mobile file and data synchronization, and robust security and device management capabilities to the Eseries and over 100 other devices. Considered as the most extensive support in the industry, it includes new or enhanced features such as a two-tier licensing model, a new user interface, enhanced mobile security capabilities, and extensive additional language and connectivity support.

Put a special strap around your hand and a beam from the strap projects a virtual keypad onto your fingers, so your hand becomes the keypad. Sony's VAIO UX390 is one of the few UMPCs out there with a flash-based drive. It's got Windows Vista installed and of all the UMPCs around, it's the only one that can give OQO's Model 02 a run for it's money. The question is, does it? Samsung's got quite a reputation with its improbably slim cellphones, and now it turns its expertise on the L77, a midrange point-and-shoot that it's calling the "world's thinnest 7-megapixel camera." No wonder it's called L77, because along with that 7-megapixel CCD, it has an unusually long 7x optical zoom as well. But the big news is its thin profile—just 21mm wide—and even with its diminutive size, it's still able to accommodate a 2.5 inch viewscreen on the back. Too bad there's no optical image stabilization on board, just Samsung's ASR (advanced shake reduction) which is just boosting up the ISO number for faster shutter speeds. Samsung didn't announce the price of L77 yet, but said it will be shipping in April.

Minox has introduced an expensive version of the DC 1011 camera – the DC 1011 Carat. It doesn’t involve more advanced technologies, but gold and diamonds. 10 diamonds (0.03 carats each) are round the lens, and 24 carat gold is applied in the shell. Other specs are similar to the original version. The camera is equipped with a 10.1-megapixel CCD-sensor, a 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 30 – 105 mm) and a 2.5” display. Video capture runs at VGA (640x480 pixels), 25 fps. I can hardly image anyone to really like this product, only to present it as a souvenir.

hi, I went ahead and bought 6275 for Rs 11,750/- , as I can't wait two months for Nokia care... Making and receiving calls was available in less than 15 minutes, after the switchover. This is the good part But about RConnect I wasn't so lucky... As I didn't find any download software for 6275 from Reliance web site, I tried to access net through the DKU-2 cable and the software I had for 6255. No luck, no surprise at all... So, I went ahead and called Reliance helpdesk. Initially the rep didn't know 6275, he thought it should be 6265.... After wasting some time, I got hold of a technical rep. She wasn't sure of anything. She repeated I have to insert the CD and install it. I had to shout at her, for Christ's sake, I can't magically bring a CD with the required software... ((Why doesn't Reliance doesn't provide a CD, especially if it makes customers life any easy???)) Anyway, to cut it short, she said I should install the software available for 6255. I already have it. Then she suggested I should download the software for 6235 and that is where it stands now... I have 2 laptops, the old one doesn't have Bluetooth, so I tried to access using data cable as I already have a DKU2 cable. If all this looks silly, pl pardon me. I am not a technical person, my knowledge is rather very limited... jt P.S. - If 6235 doesn't work, I will try Nokia_Connectivity_Cable_Driver_rel_6_82_4_eng.msi software from nokia-asia web site and see what happens... Just install any PC suite 6 or above ur DKU2 drivers come bundle in it, After installation connect ur cable to PC than phone, phone will ask u which mode u want phone in, options are > Nokia mode > Printing mode> Data storage. Select data storage and if u using XP ur drivers will install automatically. Now create dial up connection which will dial #777 (calling no) and user name and password is ur MDN/ Mobile number. Now connect it and come on rimweb.in
