Arun... Don't you think the Kyocera now deserves a dedicated forum like LG, Samsung etc. After it has now five handsets and few more coming soon....whereas Samsung and Motorola have hardly any handset available at present... Not against any them, but favouring Kyocera here...

Why Cant We Talk More Than 60mins In A Do
basant_jp replied to @ksh@T's topic in Reliance Communications
That's what I said in one of my earlier post...These poor chaps do not undersand that one can call again...But no doubts, this way companies offering free talk time are trying to save each and every buck they can....Believe it or not, lot of people do hang up after call disconnect and do not call up again. -

@kool_as_seth -- My 6130 turned 13 months yesterday, and I must say even today battery lasts for a minimum of 2 days with normal usage....My normal usage would mean about 40-45 minutes of talktime + 25-30 SMS daily. Ok....I have now got a problem with the handset -- problem with the software actually. My MMS menu is behaving very awkwardly today -- I am not able to use the 'send MMS' option, also this is how the inbox and outbox is being displayed now-- 4. MMS Inbox 0/-7046374MMS Outbox -70463743MMS Draft -35231871 Templates 11 5. MMS Outbox -70463743MMS Draft -35231871 Templates 11 6. MMS Drafts Draft -35231871 Templates 11 Rest all is fine...but not able to use MMS. I was in a meeting yesterday and had to siwtch off the phone by removing the battery -- just to avoid the annoying switch off tone...I believe this happened after that only. Whatever, I am really satisfied with this set.....I used is very roughly, dropped it countless times off great heights, my niece has always played with this handset (instaed of a toy mobile).....but still it works brilliantly. As for this MMS issue, I am sure software upgrade would rectify it. What do you say guys? btw, I dropped my kyocera 7135 a well, not once infact 7-8 times, and it is still working. Cheers!

Now that many of us have had this PDA for quite a few days...let us accept that it is a reasonably good phone with great pda capabilities, though it has its limitations due to the dragonball processor and the Palm OS 4.1 version...On an all, I would say it is an amazing deal for those who bought it for 8k...I would rank it as 8/10 (1 extra point for the cost). There are few aplications I am still looking for and have had no luck so far...would appreciate if any of you guys can help- 1. Answering machine application 2. Any freeware substitution for Mergic VPN 3. Freeware document viewer- minimum word, excel, ppt and pdf. I have quickoffice trial, but will expire in a couple of days 4. Video player with audio support -- kinoma has never played audio for me, though it is supposed to 5. Lastly, a good image viewer Cheers!

Yes, it does. I did claim last year when my GFs cell was lost. I just had to provide the webworld with the copy of the certified letter which I gave at the Police Station, and they did the rest. Within 20 minutes we got the new handset...though we still had to pay 3500 rupees for that as the inmsurance cover is for 7000/- only for the handset with 10,500/- MRP... Cheers!

basant_jp replied to @ksh@T's topic in Reliance Communications
Yeah..It happens with the 440 voucher only...Seems it's RIM's way to put a check on RIM2RIM free calls...But these poor guys dont understand that if a person is talking continuously for an hour, he/she would never mind calling up again... Cheers! -

Nokia people had a meeting with top guys at Reliance Infocomm corporate office in Delhi last week (wednesday I guess).....I apparently happened to be there at that time. This meeting was held to explore the possibilities and feasibility of launching new nokia CDMA mobile handsets (as told by one of the employee there). They came with about 7-8 different handsets including the Nokia 6265. Must say this is a cool handset....Nokia is now focusing on CDMA segment in India, as is evident from their upcoming models section. They have nine upcoming models listed on their website and all of them will be launched on RIM this year....Check out these handsets here ....http://nokia.co.in/nokia/0,,62432,00.html As for Noia 6265, it should be launched on RIM in a couple of months, as Munnamobile said, may be in March. Nokia is all set to launch it, only Reliance has to decide upon it and I believe they will soon come out with this handset. Infact, introduction of this handset would also affect the price of the other Nokia handsets, they will surely go down. I was also told by one of my contact that last year was financially very bad for Reliance as they had to pay a huge sum to BSNL/MTNL against ADC. Now, since that phase is over, they will come out with trendsetting schemes and offers. We have already seen the aggressiveness of RIM during the first month itself. Launching attractive and feature rich models is also one thing they are now focusing on. One thing that Anil Ambani is believed to looking at is the image makeover, the 'gareeb ka mobile' image associated with RIM. They now have more corporate connections and more rural connections than any other operator. And now they also want to capture the premium segment by offereing reasonable good choice for handsets. Hope they keep the momentum going, else they will be a loser in a long run. @Anujit-- Did you ever try to get information on this handset from Tata??? They supposedly have launched it a long back, but it has not yet arrived at any of the Tata outlets...atleast not in North India. I recently checked at various outlets in 5 cities including Delhi and I was told it has not yet arrived and will soon be, but no expected dates ever..... Cheers!

Phonebook on RIM gets Much Needed Protection Secure Phonebook back-up, storage & Retrieval with a click on R World Mumbai, August 09, 2005 DAKC In yet another industry first, Reliance Infocomm has launched a unique service that helps customers to store, protect and transfer their phonebook information with the back-end support of the company's highly secure Internet Data Center (IDC) at Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City. Reliance Infocomm's subscribers with R World can now save their phonebook information with password protection on the back-end server and retrieve it at their convenience. A copy of one's Phonebook from Reliance Mobile is kept in the network as a protection against phone damage or loss. This also allows for effortless transfer of phonebook information from one Reliance IndiaMobile to another through easy-to-navigate R World. "Phonebook is the single most important element of any mobile as subscribers use several times a day. More often than not, they are at loss looking for those important phone numbers when their handsets gets misplaced or damaged. Now, with this new R World application, Reliance IndiaMobile subscribers can be completely assured of safe-keeping of their phonebook information," said Mahesh Prasad, President - Applications and Solutions Group, Reliance Infocomm. The user can easily upload or access their phonebook data at the click of a button anytime, anywhere, that too without using any sophisticated devices or cables. It is also very easy to copy the phonebook on to a different Reliance handset at the subscriber's will. For instance, all members of the same family or a group can transfer their common phonebook information from one handset to another, without having to physically feed the numbers and names. To use this facility, one has to simply click on R World and select "Tools" under "More Services" on the main menu of R World. Once in the "Tools", section, one has to select "Phbook Transfer" , which leads one step-by-step to "Upload" the information to the Reliance server and "download" to restore or transfer the phonebook information. Corporate customers can also upload the common phone numbers used by a particular group on one phone and transfer to other phones. The facility will also be useful to those wishing to transfer their phonebook information from a GSM handset to Reliance Infocomm's CDMA handset.

If Reliance would have ever produced a handset, it would have looked nothing better than the brick they show in one of their ad. Welcome to Rimweb Vivek... Cheers!
