Guys, I am looking for some answering application....Does such a thing exist for palm OS?...There are a lots available for symbian OS...
-
I already changed the number my own....now what? Ok...I Got it done. I changed back the number to its original and then removed the battery and inserted back (That sofisticated method of hard reset did not work for me). It's back to normal, and lo! the roaming option is still 'no roaming', but working fine. As such, no RIM phone handsets on their own treat the service area as roaming in India as they are on Reliance only..I have never seen the 'R' activated EVER on any of the RIM phones. May be it follows the US protocol, where roaming means the 'other network' within US. Thanks anyway. You guys are really great, anytime ready to help. Cheers!

Help me Guys! I had my 7135 working fine untill last night. I am in roaming area right now. Somehow, after the call last night, I set the raoming to 'no roaming' -- I just forgot I am roaming as I use this phone in roaming only.... Now this morning no calls are going/coming thru. I again set it to 'automatic' but of no use. When I call up this number, I mostly get the message that 'Phone is switched off' whereas it is not and is showing all bars... Help Guys!

Reliance Now Turns Focus On Fixed Wireless Phone Tariffs
basant_jp posted a topic in Reliance Communications
DAKC (Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City), Navi Mumbai, January 09, 2006 Looking to expand the trend of falling mobile tariffs to fixed wireless phones, Reliance Infocomm today announced two path breaking schemes for its fixed phone service. In the first move, Reliance Infocomm has extended the 1 India tariff scheme announced recently for Reliance mobile phones to Reliance fixed wireless phones. In a parallel move, the company has also announced a new zero rental, 'life time incoming free' scheme for its fixed wireless customers. "While mobile tariffs have fallen drastically due to competition in the last three years, fixed wireless phone tariffs have remained more or less static and have not witnessed much innovation. We would like to revolutionise fixed wireless phone tariff with these two path breaking schemes. The One India scheme is designed to change the way people perceive and use long distance calls. The 'life time free incoming' scheme with absolutely "No Monthly Recurring Charges" will make the landline telephony more affordable for the masses. said SP Shukla, President, Wireless, Reliance Infocomm. Under the 1 India tariff plan, Reliance fixed wireless customers will be able to make calls to any phone anywhere in India for Re 1/ minute. This heralds a new era in the STD calls market with tariff falling by as much as 100 per cent. The current fixed phone STD rates vary from Rs 1.80/ minute under certain schemes to the more generic Rs 2.40/ minute. The tariff for local and intra-circle calls to Reliance phones will be 40 paisa/ minute under the 1 India scheme while it will be Re 1 for all other calls. One India scheme will have a monthly rental of Rs 499. The zero rental, life time incoming scheme brings the flexibility of mobile tariffs to fixed phones for the first time. Under the scheme, for a one-time payment of Rs 2999, Reliance customers will get life time incoming free on their fixed phones. The tariff will be Rs. 1.20 /pulse for local calls, with the 3 minute pulse to local fixed phones and Reliance phones and 45 second pulse for mobiles in non-metros and 60 seconds pulse applicable for mobiles in metros. Existing Reliance fixed wireless customers can also enroll for this Lifetime free Incoming offer by paying one time charge of Rs. 1999. Discuss topic here -

Hi have uploaded several mp3s to my card with bitrate 160 kbps. I have had no probems playing them and the sound quality was definitely better than the one with 128 kbps bitrate. I did not experience any jerky sound. I am using the default mp3 player and must say the mp3 sound quality was equivalent (if not better) to my nokia 6630. Whatever, I am just loving it.... Cheers!

Spectrum for Customer Base for 3G Rollout in India
basant_jp replied to @ksh@T's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
NEW DELHI: CDMA-based telecom operators have got a shot in the arm with a Parliamentary Committee recommending that the government allot the crucial 1,900 Mhz spectrum to players using this technology for expansion of services. "All efforts should be made to allot as much spectrum as the government can in 800/1,900 Mhz for the CDMA operators and the 900/1,800 Mhz for the GSM players for the expansion of telecom services", Standing Committee on IT (2005-06) said in its report on Spectrum Management. The panel feels 3G services would be available only in the next three years. It may be noted here that CDMA players have been demanding spectrum allocation on 1,900 Mhz band for 3G services, saying this was the only band where global equipment for 3G service was available. '3G services' will enable a mobile user to access high-speed data, internet, video streaming as well as voice services. Stating that 3G services are already made available through 'EDGE' and 'EVDO' platforms by GSM and CDMA companies respectively, it said until the time 2.1 Ghz band (as suggested by TRAI) is coordinated and spectrum, equipment are available in this band, the nation should not be deprived of access to 3G and other emerging service. "In view of the fact that 3G and emerging services can be provided in the 800 Mhz and 900/1,800 Mhz bands, the committee desires that the government should create simultaneous opportunities to both GSM and CDMA players for roll out of 3G services", it said. The panel also drew a comparison between the availability of spectrum to GSM and CDMA players. Source : The Economic Times Internet Edition thru PTI PTI[ MONDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2005 06:15:40 PM] -
This handset is available in Delhi now, even at the RWWEs. But then, since not many people are aware of this handset, the guy at ine of the RWWE told me the price 8500/-. And infact, he has sold two handsets at this price (he showed me the invoice)...poor chaps, whoever bought them. Anyway, the handset's MRP is 7999/- only so guys don't get fooled. Infact, I personally would own this handset only if it is offered to me somewhere between 5500 and 6000. I feel it is unfairly overpriced, atleast when such GSM phones are way cheaper now. Cheers!

Rightly said. I agree with you Peer Baba... Cheers!

Motorola is the world's first telecommunication company, but it lagged behind as it followed the analog protocol for long, and that was the time when Nokia chipped in with digitial protocol. It was actually the Motorola's old CMD, who believed that analog is superior to digital and will always remain so. This made the company a loser to Nokia. Anyway, now wiht the new CMD and new strategies in place, Motorola is back in action. MotoRazaV3, ROKR, PEBL are the example of this action. In US, nokia could never beat Motorola, even when things were not going on well with motorola. As for the quality, moto really rocks; but only when the product is meant for developed nations (read 'expensive handsets'). There has been a reason for that - Nokia's production unit in Finland makes them able to produce handsets at cheaper rates as the labour is not so high in Finlad (compared to US). Motorola's production center in United States produces the handsets with same features at a higher price tag, reason being the high labour costs. The handsets made for the US or EU markets are really great, compared to the ones available in South Asian markets. Anyway, if you have ever come across a high end handset of motorola, I am sure you would be highly satisfied with it, be it the battery life or the performance. I am great fan of their Linux based smartphones. Apart from the cheap handsets like C131 or such GSM counterparts largely available in South Asian markets, Motorola's handsets are really great performers. Only thing, they never took Indian market very seriously. With the new pacts with Indian operators, Motorola has shown interest in Indian market, and I am sure their new handsets (whether GSM or CDMA) would not perform below expectations. Cheers!

Cool Arun... Three Cheers for You!

There should be some software to work with the data cable to transfer MP3 and othet stuff to mini SD card....and I guess there would be. Infact, the data cable and the stereo headset should be a part of standard package as it does in case of its GSM counterpart - LG G1800 Hope this phone would deliver what an MP3 phone is supposed to. Cheers!

Well, R-surf does support wap sites (like wap.sify.com, wap.rediff.com, tagtag.com etc..), but the Jatayu browser used by RIM does not seem to be much compatible with wap sites. Many of them work, at the same time many does not (like wap.yahoo.com)...So it must be the browser problem, otehrwise RIM network as such support wap sites. I do not know the technical aspects of it,may be askok or others can explain better. Cheers!
