Well, this would be a breakthrough in the CDMA technology. In fact, some operators (like Verizon wireless) have already started the intl roaming on same handsets. It's just the start of roaming tie-ups among global telecom giants. Ofcoure, Reliance is one among them. Hopefully, they will launch this very soon. Atlest with US, before November this year actually before I travel. Anyway, this would bring the intl roaming costs dramatically. Verizon has almost one third rates for Intl roaming on CDMA network as compared to roaming with GSM network. The other alternative of cheap Global phones (CDMA cum GSM) seems to be taking really long. If the CDMA roaming proves successful, the future of Global Phones will be in danger -- even before they become popular. So far, I have come across two Global phones, one from Motorola and other from Samsung. A close look at both the phones - Motorola A840 Global Phone Features - Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) Mobile Web 2.0 browser Voice-activated dialing Voice mail GSM capablility with SIM card for service while traveling internationally Text Messaging Voice mail 1.2 megapixel camera with flash Color internal and external displays Contact directory to store up to 500 entries Built-in scheduler and currency converter TTY capable for the hearing impaired Samsung SCH a790/ip790 Features - Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) Voice-activated dialing Web browser Text Messaging Voice mail GSM capablility with SIM card for service while traveling internationally Text Messaging Voice mail Large 260K internal color display Vibrating alert Headset jack TTY and TDD enabled for the hearing impaired Scheduler, calculator, alarm clock and built-in contact directory VGA Camera phone Whatever, we deserve good phones and flawless and seamless roaming. I guess roaming with the CDMA network is the best deal. Afterall, why switch to GSM only beacuse you are roaming globally? Atleast I think so. Anyway, here're the pics of the above Global Phone handsets. Cheers!

Rconnect Disconnects After 1 Min On Win Xp
basant_jp replied to mhimanshu2003's topic in Data services
I used to have the same problem while using Rconnect with LG RD 7130 and 6130. After lots of R&D, I found out a simple solution and it worked very well for me. Check if the Windows wirewall in 'ON' or not for Rconnect connection. If not, activate it and restart.....hopefully it will work. And if its already 'ON' and still facing this issue....., then I guess you need to install security updates available so far win xp. Cheers! -
Hi Guys! I bought the same for 13499/- about two months back. Atleast at that time it was readily available at all RWW in Delhi and Jaipur, donno about other places. I checked with RWW in Jaipur (Vaishali) and Delhi (Vikas Marg) today. It is readily available at both the places. As for the compatability with laptop, I am using IBM Thinkpad T43 and could confugure and use the card within 10 minutes of purchase and have faced no problems so far..... Cheers!

Well, with RIM, most of the rconnect users get speeds of more than 6 kBps. Infact I should say the speed that you are getting with bluetooth is what most of the users get with local serial cables on most of the LG and Samsung phones. That's because 12 kBps download speed is actually 96 kbps (way below 144 kbps). So I actually wonder is there is any problem with your set or cable beacuse of which you get a speed of 6 kBps. Anyway, bluetooth is a good option as it is wirefree, but I don't agree with you on the speed front. Cheers!

August 03, 2005 13:15 IST Making an emotional exit from the Reliance Industries, in which he will continue to be a "large" shareholder, Anil Ambani on Wednesday sought "guidance and advice" from elder sibling Mukesh for his new corporate entity, while exuding confidence that RIL would scale even greater heights under his brother's leadership. "I leave the organisation with a heavy heart and deep abiding sense of personal loss...I will be one among you in my own individual capacity as a large shareholder of RIL," Anil said at the annual general meeting of the company, where he worked actively for 25 years before parting ways with Mukesh on the business front last month. Anil served as the vice chairman and managing director of RIL before resigning on June 18 following division of the group to settle a family row.

Well actually, you do not need to register with a pospaid number only, even prepaid users can register with Relianceinfo.com and use the services, though you will not have any bills to view online......just to clear out so that prepaid users dont waste their time in searching for a postpaid number to register..
-
Oh yes, this hanset supports LMS, upto 480 characters.
-
May be you wont understand till you use this. Actually its more about the convenience and mobility.....truly wirefree actually.

I am not able to login to the bill portal to view bills/unbilled usage. I think most of their online services are not available..... I read about heavy rainfall in Mumbai causing malfunctioning of servers of most of the Banks and telcos.......Can it be one of the reason for the problem.....or is it because the systems are under upgradations :'( :'(

Very True! Olympus is one of the few companies who are masters in optics. Sony, Canon and JVC are there, but most of the Olympus models are far better than the competitive brands in the same category. I always get almost perfect shots from my Olympus. I remember, a big Photo Studio Guy in jaipur (Big Boss) once told me that the pics taken by my olympus are superb and fairly compete with highly expensive professional digital cameras. In fact, I have seen most of the professional photographers using Olympus Digital cameras. I would recommend Olympus over Sony and Canon.

:'( Gosh! I bought it for 13500 just a few days back.....too bad!

Hi there! I have been using laptops for a long time now. My first experience with a laptop was on Toshiba Satellite. I bought a second hand from my office. It was a good laptop but very bulky and ugly (though the newer ones are attractive)....Then I used my boss' Sony Vaio...truly a nice one, great looks and great performance. This year finally I bought one after lots of reserach, and I settled for none other than IBM Thinkpad T Series. After trying lots of brands and model, I found this one to be the most stable and high on performance laptop. I bought this one in March this year from US (at a real low price compared to India)......I must say I am in love with this thing. Vaio's looks impresses, but then IBM Thinkpads' performance outperforms all others. A great buy if price is not a constraint! Cheers! Basant

Hi there! You can only download images using LG PC Link software......no other functionality available with the software so far....

Here is the link to register http://bill.relianceinfo.com/webapp/portal...et/RegisterUser The same login details can be used to access SMS and MMS Portals...and till date the services are free... Up & down slide phone (LP3900) The new slide phone, LP3900, has a two-layer display and the upper monitor screen moves both up and down the inner. Strengthening this camera function is a strobe flash, half-shutter and lens cover. 3-D game phone (SV360 / KV3600) The first cell phone ever armed with a 1 million polygon/second graphic accelerator chip processes data five times faster than currently available chips and allows users to play games with more minute and realistic 3-D graphics. The phone is also equipped with acceleration sensors that allow the user to control the game by moving it up and down or left to right, maximizing enjoyment. The phones are equipped with a 2.2-inch LCD screen, allowing users to play 3-D games with increased screen quality. I wonder what startup kit is? What I believe, GSK itself is the startup kit, which stands for Get Started Kit. I do not think there is anything like 'startup kit' available with RWW or even in the market, that too only for Nokia.....

Dd.gladson MMS thru email was working very well earlier...it does at times even now using smtp server but not always.......reliance guys keep a tab on rimweb for sure :'( Anyway, best way to send midi as mms to rim is using reliance official MMS portal. Here is the link http://bill.relianceinfo.com/webapp/portal/servlet/MMSLogin To use this, you need to register your number for RIM bill first at http://bill.relianceinfo.com/webapp/portal...et/RegisterUser If you have already registered, same user id/password can be used to access RIM MMS portal. Hi Guys! I am using Rconect card for over a month now. No doubt a great product, but the speed is not very good. Atleast it is not the 144 kbps, not even 100 kbps for that matter. Anyway, it is a very good option for people like me who are highly mobile and need connectivity all the time. I already have two RIM connections, but this card has made my IBM thinkpad a truly wireless machine with phone\data ability. I recommend this product. Basant
