  1. Whats a good price for LG 6130

Hello Guys, I read your replies (in response to mine). Since I purchased my phone long time back, I thought it better to verify the information I had given, . Anyway, I did talk to one of the dealer in Jaipur (New Era) to verify the cost facts. He told me the price of RIM provisioned LG 6130 set to be Rs 5699/-. And for the discount on selling samsung SCH N191, he said he could offer anything between 500 and 1500; depending on the condition of the handset and the original accessories it came with. Since i have relocated to new delhi a couple months back only, I have no such contacts in Delhi. I could only call up the dealer in jaipur and verify. But I would like to say that even if you get 800 bucks for an old handset (especially for those who got it under monsoon hungama scheme), LG RD 6130 for Rs 4900 (5700-800) is not a bad deal at all. what do you say guys?

  3. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

Hey Amit, I have been using Rconnect with my 6130 with a serial cable for more than two months now. I am not facing any such problem, in fact I found it faster than my earlier 7130 handset..... Basant
  4. Whats a good price for LG 6130

Hey Guys, Why so much of Confusion???? Let me clarify. 1. Reliance Webworlds are selling the handsets at two deifferent costs - One at the MRP (7K) and other at Rs. 6130. The first one is a non-provisioned (blank) handset and can be used instantly with HCC to exchange the number with your existing handset. The second one is a provisioned set (with a prealloted number) and hence can not be used directly with a HCC to exchange number from your existing handset. Since officially there is no procedure defined by Reliance to use the 3 HCC funda to swap numbers between two provisioned handsets, they are saying 'NO' for this. 2. Reliance WebWorld Express and other dealers are seliing the sets with price less than the MRP in both the cases. But here also, a non-provisioned set will cost somewhere around 6700 or so (not much less than MRP). Bit in case of pre-alloted or provisioned handsets, you can really bargain as they are being sold at even less than 5500 Rs. I myself bought it for 5700 Rs that too in December... 3. Is it possible to swap number with your existing handset in case you buy a provisioned pre-alloted handset? Yes, you can. You will have to use 3 HCC and a blank handset...In many cases RWWExpress people or the dealers arrange for the blank handset for free and chagrge you the cost of HCCs only. But, in many cases, these guys are charging 100-300 rupees for ther whole number swapping process. 4. Should I keep my existing handset or sell it to get more discount..... In Jaipur, dealers are not buying the Nokia 2280 set. Even if they are buying, they are not giving discount of more than 500 rupees. In case of SCH 191 and LG RD 2030, they are offering a discount of upto 1500 rupees. This must be true in all the cities I hope. Now, you decide yourself, whether you should sell off your existing set or not....and dont forget to bargain, there is always some scope. 5. What's the best way to go, finally Simple, Get a provisioned handset from preferably a dealer (they can lower prices than RWWExpress even). Let us assume you get it for Rs. 5800. Then you will need 3 HCC worth Rs 66 and say the dealer charge you Rs 100 for the service (I paid this much only for swaping numbers, it could be less than that). Further, if you can arrange for a blank handset or the dealer arranges it for free, you can save this 66+100 rupees as well. Since there is no change to the third handset (the blank set), they can provide the service for free. So effective cost the new 6130 set can be - Effective Price - Rs (5800+66+100) = Rs 5966 (without exchanging your old handset) In case, you exchange your existing LG/Samsung handset, the effective cost can be - (Handset - 5800, 3 HCC - 66, S. Charge - 100, discount for exchange of handset - 1200) Effective Price - Rs (5800+66+100-1200) = 4766 (with exchange for existing handset) 6. Lastly, is the 3HCC funda for Number Swapping SAFE? Yes, it is, theoritically and technically as well. Hope this helps.
  5. Hidden RIM URLs

Hi all, I could get into the reliance MMS login. Not directly though, but I think it has started working now. Actually I sent an MMS to my email today, and there was a link to the MMS in the email saying - Click Here to view the messages. When I clicked on the link, it had yaken me to openwave's http://mms.relianceinfo.com/mms/do/LegacyLogin account page. from there I could preview the image and download as well. Though it was not useful for me as I downloaded the image from email itself, but might be of use when some GSM user is sending MMS to a reliance phone. Now in the evening, its not working. I think it is still in the testing phase.
  6. Can We Make Our Mobile Blue Tooth Enabled

Hi all, I donno much about the feasibility of enabling existing reliance hansets bluetooth ready, but we can shortly expect bluetooth enabled CDMA handsets in Indian market as LG, Samsung and Nokia has launced such handsets in US markets. hope the same will be available in Indian market pretty soon.
  7. Multiplayer Gaming

http://paradox-studios.com/links.php certainly seems to be a connection judging by the ril & relianceinfo site links. but they don't mention it explictly anywhere which is probably true of most small subsidiaries of infocomm Low profile ... 5806[/snapback] Yes friends. 8. Reliance Compatible Handset Specs

  9. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

You're partially true. actually the problem was in my phonebook. Though the numbers were in correct format, I did not have the default number defined in most of the numbers. This happened as i downloaded the phonebook from 7130 to this handset using data cable. Now i have defined the default numbers and it is working fine. Thanks! And Chirag, you have said it right. 6130 is a real good handset for 6-7 K. I bought it for 5700 though.
  10. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

Hello friends, There is an issue, which I have come across while using 6130. When you receive any SMS, it does not pick up the sender's details (name) from the phonebook. Hope it would get resolved with the software upgrade.
  11. Lg 6130 Ringtones

Well Austin, I tried sending MMS thru email using Outlook. I could send it successfully on sunday. But today I am not. Then i used 1st SMTP server to send it and I could send it thru Outlook. Actually reliance guys keep on blocking the service. But using 1st SMTP or FreeSMTP server, you can send MMS thru outlook. there are no settings as such required on phone. hope this helps.
  12. Lg Rd 6130 V/s Nokia 6225

hey xshay 421 Merely by tranferring an image to PC (either via email or data cable) can never change the picture quality. Who gave you this wrong info? Anway, as far as 6130 is concerned, i have transferred pictures via email and via data cable as well. There is no difference in the quality, in fact there can not be. By now, i have more than 100 pics taken by 6130 and a good number of them have come out very nicely. The picture quality has more to do with the way and the conditions in which the picture has been taken. If taken in day light, proper angle & distance and firm hands, pictures will surely come out nicely. To sum it up, the camera in 6130 is really good delievering images 640*480 pixels in size with fine quality.

  14. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

Yes. It is possible to send (receive as well) pictures to (and from) email ids from 6130. As for using data cable for PC sync and LG link, let me share my experience. I purchased a local serial data cable for rupees 350 and used it. I could successfuly sync the phone book in my very first try on my PC. But ofcourse, LG link didn't work. Then i changed the port and i could use LG link and download images, but not PC sync. So in my PC, PC sync and LG link, both works but on different ports. I used the same cable on my laptop, which has only one serial port and to my surprise, I could use PC Sync and LG Link both on it, that too in the very first attempt. Anyway, I did not have much problems downloading images from 6130 to my PC/Laptop.
  15. Hidden RIM URLs

  16. Lg 6130 Ringtones

Hi austin, I have not sent any emails to phone thru outlook in the recent past, though i could successfully send them a month back when i used outlook. These days i am mostly using gmail to send mms. I did not make any changes in the settings as such. For you, I will try that out and let you know.
  17. Lg 6130 Ringtones

Hi friends, In my case, it goes straight to the native MMS server only irrespective of the handset through which i receive. It has never asked me to connect to Rworld to download MMS. And i am able to save the content as well, exactly the way as i save content from MMS received via 6130 handset. I mentioned it earlier too, I am receiveing MMS (as native MMS only) thru Moonlight, 7130, 7230, 2030, N191 and all emails without any problems. Let me also tell you, I did not upgrade, it is a new set. But I did swap the connection with my previous number, which to my understanding is similar as upgrading. isn't it? And the fact is, I was not facing any problems before swapping the connections, and not facing any problems even now. In fact, I just received an MMS from RD2030, I could save it as well. Hope this will help. Basant
  18. Which Is Better LG 6000 Or LG 6130

Hello Friends, Don't forget you have been talking about a camera in a phone costing less than 7000 rupees. You can never compare cellphone camera with a digicam. And if you compare the picture quality of this cam with most of the camera phones (even of nokia or sony, leaving aside the very expensive MegaPixel Cameras), it is way ahead. I have used them by myself, I really felt the difference!!! Donno about others. BTW, LG has also launced a MegaPixel (1.3 MP) CDMA camera phone in US with bluetooth technology. This is said to be the first CDMA set with bluetooth. Hope this will be available very soon with Reliance in India.
  19. Tweaking LG 6130

Hello friends, I just don't understand why so much confusion is there on MMS in RWorld. In RD 6130, the MMS menu is in the phone itself, the native MMS. Though native MMS has its own pros and cons. Having a native MMS enable u to send it across RIM users, at the same time you do not have access to Rworld's predesigned MMS greetings and pictures. Anyway, I feel being able to share images taken by cam as MMS is far better than sending same age-old greetings all the time. Of course, it would have been better to have more storage capacity.
  20. Lg 6130 Ringtones

Hello akhileshril. It doen't go to RWorld MMS aplication. It does ask you to connect, once connected it downloads the MMS directly to the handset MMS inbox. That's what native MMS is meant for. I am not facing any problem in receiving ane sending MMSs from my 6130 set, so far....
  21. Lg 6130 Ringtones

Dear friends, I am using LG 6130 phone and have received MMS from other reliance models as well including moonlight, 7130 and 2030. I could even save the content. I donno about others' experience......Please share.
  22. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

Dear Chirag, I mistakenly wrote 1000 characters in SMS. actually i meant MMS. Anyway, I am posting two of the pics taken by the cam. basant <<<Attatchments deleted>>>>
  23. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

Hello Friends, This is for you sandy. Yes. It is possible to do that using appropriate data cable and the LG PC sync software, though I have not used it as of now. One of my frined has done that has given me the link for PC link software. I do not have the url for the software right now, but will post you in a day or two. Similar function is possible with the phone book as well. The flash light work smilar to the Nokia torch light 'Made in India' phone (i forgot the model number). Actual it will consume more battery. That's it! Actually, it was mentioned in the initial offer brochure of the handset. The picture quality is amazingly good, but you need to make sure of the good light. It's, obviously good for using in the daylight. Pictures taken in night will not produce better results. It's true with all mobile cameras. For dil_1964 ; I will post a pic of my niece taken by the cell in a day or two, Just to show how good is the picture quality. Actually I already have a very good collection of fine pictures taken by the cell. I will suggest you to follow the proper lighting guidelines for digital cameras. For Chirag Outgoing SMS length is 140 Characters, but outgoing/incoming characters length is 1000 characters. Hope this serves the purpose, Basant
  24. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

Dear friends, As I said earlier, I will come up with my experiences with LG RD 6130. Here I am.. I found this handset very much user friendly and feature rich. Apart form being a phone with callsy looks, great voice clarity and good connectivity, it has some brilliant features. just have a look at the features - 1. It has brilliant 65000 Colour backlight LCD with 6 line text display. Good Enough and far better than Nokia or Ericsson GSM sets. 2. 16 polyphonic sound - Much better than LG RD 7130 or 7230 3. 0.3 MP Digital Camera with in-built flash - with image resolutions upto 640 X 480 pixels. Also have upto 4x zoom facility at lower resolution. The camera is really cool and is one of the best camera (in a phone) available in the market. The lowest resolution in this handset is what most of the mobiles including Nokia offer in their so called 'the best' camera phones. 4. As many as 25 images can be saved in the 'Gallery' irrespective of the resolution. Further Upto 5 images can also be saved in 'My Media > Images' menu and 5 other in 'wallpaper > My Media Images 1-5'. Also have the black/white mode and 15 interesting fun frames. 5. It comes with the 'Click and Send' feature. Take picture and instantly send it to any RIM or any email address. Can be sent to upto 10 recipients at one go. The message can be of upto 1000 characters in MMS. Just imagine, sending all important emails right thru your cell, anytime and anywhere. Above all, MMS feature is currently free!!! 6. Midi files and jpg images can be sent as attatchment to this phone thru emails (your phone MMS id would be - '9193xxxxxxxx@mms.ricmail.com') and the content can be saved as ringtones or wallpapers. There is a website - www.muskurahat.com, from where all latest hindi midi ringtones can be downloaded over internet and can be mailed to this phone thru any email. This is yet another wonderful feature of this phone, or I should say Reliance. The total size of MMS can be 100K which is good enough to have a complete 5 minute midi song, a high resolution image and text of upto 1000 characters! 7. It has got speakerphone as well. Since, the speaker is different from the traditional earpiece speaker, it is very loud and has fine audio output while using Rworld multimedia applications even. 8. The battery is really different and long lasting than other Reliance models - I myself noticed as much as 4 days' stand-by time. 9. 34 in-built ringtones, 3 downloadable from rworld and 5+5+5 from MMS (5 tones can be kept in ringtones menu, 5 can be 'My Media - Sound' menu and 5 can be there in 'MMS inbox'. Downloaded ringtones ring very well and loud unlike 7130 and 7230. Ringtones downloaded from Rworld also ring very loud. 10. It's in-built flash light can also be used as mini torch. Just keep pressed the 'CLR' button for a while and it's on. To put it off, press 'End' key. This is not given in the manual I suppose. 11. 300 number phone book with 4 numbers, 1 email, 1 memo alongwith Photo Caller ID. 12. Apart from the regular features, SMS has features like Deferred Delivery and SMS to multi recipients. Can alos send messages in Hindi. 13. It has USB connectivity for data cable and has improved data transfer rate - upto 153.6 Kbps Other LG models like 7130 and 7230 had many software bugs which i founf fixed in this set. Over all, I would say for 7000 rupees (though you will find people selling it for even 5700 rupees also in prepaid), it is very very good buy and value for money. Since, I have been using LG 7130 set for the past one and a half year, I can feel the difference in the software and this one has highly improved software. One of my frined has purchased LG 6000 and I used that set too. That one is also good but this one is far better than 6000. I bet.. I will not say, I does not have nay bugs. In fact, every phone will have. But, overall I will rate 9 out of 10 points. Hope, this would help.......
  25. All about LG 6130 - Camera Phone

Hello Friends, I am new to this forum but I am a really old RIM owner. I had Samsung N191 initially, with the launch of RIM. At present I have LGRD7130 and the latest, LG RD6130. It has been more than a month since I got the 6130 handset. In general, I would say it is the best phone for 7K bucks. I wish to provide detailed review of the set may be by tomorrow. Till then, bye......
