  1. Reliance Smart Gsm

Finally, Reliance Smart (GSM) information is now available on Reliance Communications Website.... Check out the 'GSM Services' link on the home page.
  2. Sending & Receiving Mms On Ppc 6700

I already enabled the option for SMS delivery thru reg hack, but that doesn't actually enable the SMS delivery for me. Even when the 'Request Message delivery notification' option is checked, I never have received any such notification. I want to enable delivery notification very badly...it is very handy at times. Any help is appreciated.
  3. Sending & Receiving Mms On Ppc 6700

I am getting the MMS as normally as on nokia 6265. i.e., no need to go to reliance world. Are you using the same settings i am using. I get the same message when i use reliance mobileworld connection and i get "receipent failed" when i use my rconnect connection. Yes, the settings the same. In my case, whenever an MMS is received, it automatically connect to 'Reliance Mobile World' conection and gets the header successfully, but when I click on download, I eventually get '' Message expired or not available'....I triede this again, but with no success.
  4. Sending & Receiving Mms On Ppc 6700

AFAIK, delivery reports have been disabled by Reliance for this phone. This is what I heard from the UTStarcomm Tech Support. People here might have noticed that when starting the phone for the first time (or after hard reset), and at the time when reliance customizations are in process, a cab file named 'SMS delivery disable' or so is installed. I guess this is the real culprit. @gauravjc: It's strange that u are receiving the delivery reports....Are you sure you are receiving the delivery confirmation, not the 'message sent' confirmation?

  6. Sending & Receiving Mms On Ppc 6700

I am not even able to receive the MMS, although the settings are all alright. I do get the MMS received notification and it does connect to the Reliance World, but the message is not downloaded and I consistently get the message ' Message expired or not available' Any suggestion?

  12. Video Player For 7135

Search for Kinoma Player in 'Some Software's For The Kyo 7135' thread. You will find what u need. Cheers! B
  13. AFAIK, the 'mp5' is said to be the latest digital sound format which supports video (like mp4), and is said to have almost 6 times more compression than mp3. I read about this in a forum a few months ago. Some Chinese, Singapore and Taiwanese companies are already selling these mp5 players (which looks similar to the mp4 player). I also read that this format is just nothing but the same mp4, and is being sold as something new with a dearer price tags by these companies. It may or may not exist. I am yet to come across any serious and techie stuff on this though. If anyone of you have any serious stuff on this, please share. Cheers! B

  18. New Zero Rental Data Plans

I switched my data card plan to RNC VALUE as well....Atleast the CC says that there won't be any rental for voice call, if you don't make any calls.
  19. Forum Software Upgraded to 2.2.1

Hi Arun... The forum upgrade looks pretty good, I am facing problem in uploading files though. Whenever I try to attach some file to a post, it displays uploading file thing for long, but it does not get through. I tried with Firefox too but faced the similar problem...it this a known issue, or I am the only one to face this? Cheers! B
  20. At its annual Nokia Connection event held in Helsinki and Singapore on June 13, Nokia unveiled the 6265 CDMA slider as the most feature-packed handset unveiled by the handset maker for the Americas to date. Among its highlights are a 2 Megapixel camera, a high-resolution 262K colour display, music player and Bluetooth. Based on Nokia's Series 40 platform, the 6265 is a dual-band AMPS/CDMA 800/1900 MHz handset with support for CDMA2000 1xRTT. A compact slider, the handset centers around its QVGA display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and 262K colours, which in turn doubles as a viewfinder for the video and still-shot capable 2 Megapixel camera which has an effective resolution of 1.92 MP. When operated in camera mode, the 6265 is designed to be horizontally, and sports a dedicated button for picture-taking. 24 MB of memory is available to store pictures, and the handset also integrates a miniSD card expansion slot to allow for further memory to be added. Also relying on the onboard memory is the audio player of the 6265, which supports MP3, AAC and eAAC+ formats. Playback isn't limited to audio, however, with the handset also streaming full-screen video in H.263 or H.264 formats at 15 FPS. Should a fresh supply of music be required, the 6265 also integrates a stereo FM radio as well as Infrared and Bluetooth for local file exchanges - the latter of which also appears to support the A2DP profile for high-quality stereo audio. Additionally, the 6265 features USB connectivity, as well as support for video ringtones and third party applications via BREW 3.1 or Java. Measuring in at a slinky 98 x 48 x 22 mm and weighing 126 g, the Nokia 6265 is expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2005. Nokia did not provide any information concerning its expected pricing. ---------------------------- Hope this model is made available for Indian market soon Here's the pic -

  22. RIMweb 3rd Anniversary Contest

hmm...interesting! I got the PM too...
  23. RIMweb Turns 3 ! Yipeee !

Happy Birthday RimWeb!!! My sincere credits to Admin, team of Moderators and the members as well...It has been a great place, really. I am so busy all the day and with my kind of work, it is very difficult to socialize with people for real... I must say RimWeb has filled in that vaccume (and I am not fooling around)... nice friendly people around... Great going!
  24. You're the right...it is the time to get rid of the Sierra wireless card...I too have the 1 GB data plan on that, but I think the 999 unlimited plan on PPC would be much better, though I am not sure if I actually need an unlimited plan...I have not used my card for last 3 months and am paying its rental, just in case - you know...My situation with laptop is almost like you, only that I don't carry it to a movie PPC truly comes as a great relief... I have other concerns though -- without the international data roaming, PPC becoming popular among professionals is doubtful. Reliance is still not the best option...I always have to carry a GSM for data roaming (for voice roaming, Reliance is undoubtedly the cheapest and the best). I use wi-fi for skype, I never tried the Rconnect as I never expected it to work falwlessly, and so is the case. I have made the support request to the UTStarcom guy, and he has assured me to get more details on this tomorrow. He did say that he never came across the 'Audio skip/jump while ringtone playback' issue before, so I guess, it would be good if you too call them and complain about it. Whatever, I am loving this handset...I am also gonna hack the phone to enable Bluetooth A2DP, so that I can route the stereo music to my home theatre using Motorola Bluetooth gateway...I am just loving the possibilities that this phone offer.
  25. Hi Amit, Yes, I could easily access internet and my home network over wi-fi. All I did was to enable the wi-fi on the phone and connect it (My network uses WEP encryption, so I had to enter the WEP key once to get it going, but that is a one time thing, juts like any other laptop). Once connected, I had to tell the phone that this network (wi-fi) connets to Internet...and it was all set. I was browsing internet and checking email within a minute!!! I have used several wi-fi gadgets before, but I must say that it was easiest to connect to wi-fi on this device. I also tried to access my home netwrok using the built-in internet explorer and I could easily access it. I just had to give username/password/domain details the first time I used it. Infact, I even tried connecting to audio streams of several FM stations (on wi-fi) and it worked like charm! I tried streaming video (live tv - dd news and cnbc tv 18) as well, and I could play video well but the audio was not playing. I guess that is something to do with the audio codecs. Anyway, I will figure that out and let you guys know. == Some more updates and concerns== @Tarak -- you said in one of your post that reliance has come up with some specific data plans (unlimited in Rs 999 or something)..I checked with the customer care today, but as usual I got the blunt reply "We do not know anything about the specific plans for this handset". Where do I get this information? A few more things -- 1. Has anyone actually used the push email service? I am using it and it is working beautifully, only thing I am worried about is the constant connection the device makes with the exchange server. Well, I guess the connection is Wap (as I can receive and make calls even when it is connected to Reliance Mobile World -- the default connection). If this is the case, we shall be charged as per the wap charges (which no one clearly knows about as yet). Another possibiity is that the connection is made through wireless modem (which seems impractical to, as the line will be busy so often with the push email, that the phone will become literally useless). But then, I keep getting the 1x sign frequently when it is syncing with the server, so I am a bit confused. Unfortunately, I did not come across any setting to make use of wi-fi for Exchange push email. Anyway, I will be calling the UTStarcom helpline tomorrow to get more insight on this, and I will update you guys. (I must mention here that the UTStarcom guys seem very understanding and willing to help. Today I called them once, and they called me back twice to deliver me alternate solutions to the my problem) 2. I am a little concerned about the audio playback for ringtones. I at times get garbles audio when playing ringtone. Did anyone of you too faced such problem. I thought may be due to the large file size of an mp3 file, but then even a midi file as small as 2Kb produces the same garbled audio at times. At the same time, audio playbck using Media player is just fine... 3. The delay in ringing -- it's annoying... At times, the phone start playing tone after 2-3 rings. I did check on some of the forums about this problem, but there seems no definite solution so far. What you say guys? Btw, I used skype to make calls today and as expected, it worked wonderfully. Those who are planning to buy it, please do not get discouraged by the issues I have raised. I guess, a couple of them are specific to me. This phone is real good, and I can easily say that this phone has met my expectations to the highest level so far. Cheers!
