Hello people Last night i got a LG RD2030 and it is really under powered ( I could not do anyhitng with it ) so i set out to do some hardware hacking So here is what i came eup with ( only 1 day gone by ) Using serial data cable you can access the filesystem of LG 2030 which has a simple directory inteface ... I used the s/w Bitpim and used the lg 4000 as the settings and went to file system and simply expanded the list .... And here is all you can ask for ... Right now im trying to decode the melody files ... Its a 16 channel midi file which has a name and some strage numbers appended to its head and its always 4 KB ( empty space = 0 ) So i will soon figure out how to upload stuff ... So anyone know any cool tricks let me know ... So if this helps you let me know .... !!! You can mess up your phone if you dont know what you are geting into !!!

Thanx a lot guys , Arun congratulated me and made me remeber my contributions and asked me to post something ... so here i am . I am really honoured !!! thx for remembering guys even though ive been inactive 4 more than a year nearly . I did what i do best ( do new things ) and still today i get emails and IM from people asking for RIM problems and tones though i redirect them here to rimweb . A little history ... It all started when i could not find a decent ringtone for my phone ( Im into rock and punk and rworld sux big time ) . So after a few hours of head scratching and reverse engineering i cracked the method ( really simple actually ) . Then i posted them here at RIMWEB which was new at that time and yep these threads prompted the technical section . Always being a big supporter of Open Source i released both the tools ( wall paper and ringtone ) with the source and they were improved upon . And the rest is history .... I turned 22 yesterday Damn i dont like birthdays !!! they like a harsh reality check that ur getting old . Anyhow life goes on ... Congrats to all of the RimWeb Team for making this site the one stop and best solution for all Rim related problem ( If u have RIm ull have lots ) , support and user community . Hi people I would like to ask , I use R-Connect for about an hour a day but i somehow got billed for using 8 hours + a day ..... got a bill of Rs 8000 + had that sorted out then two monts later i got another shock 5 hours every day . another massive bill . But doesnt that slow down the conecction as it is we are experiencing banwidth hasseles from r-connect?? Nope it does not slow down internet !!! it send 32 bytes at a time ( which is a very small number )

If you dont wish to go into dormant mode go to command prompt and type ping -t www.yahoo.com once you are connected it will infinitely ping yahoo.com or any other site !!!

Hello The wall papers stored in the LGrd2030 phones are simply stored as a combination of grey and blavk bitmap images one after the other and has the following format ... 24 ( Header )+ 840 ( Gray mask ) + 840 ( Black mask ) the header has the name of the file displayed and the type of the file information . So now you know how its stored here is a small program for its decoding Soon a program to make wallpapers will be coming up

Well every thing works fine but the stupid time out of reliance . To over come that simply do ... ping -t www.anyserver.com This will keep you connected ...

You all were talking about the wap site so here is my contrib.... wap site for rimweb Supports phpBB Also it would be better as static said to provide a diffrent section for the experts By the way ... Jataiyu is a java based and jar file is availible for download ( using bitpim ) . Its availible in Jar ( Java Archive ) format ( maybe we can use a java decompiler ) and rip off the protection code and put in ours . . Now that would be something cool ...

Done ive uploaded my first ring tone ... "Sweet child of mine - Guns and roses " Took just one hour of tweaking now its time for wall papers to be cracked ... Ill write a nice tute on this and the file format ... soon Im attaching the ringtone if anyone needs it ... Now no more devotional tones for me .... melody05.dat
