Unable to send or receive MMS since this morning. I use RD 6130 phone. Any server problem? Anybody else also experiencing this problem?
-
I would like to add two more to the wish list. 1. The click button of the camera in 6130 would have been better placed in a more central position; like for eg., the CLR button position. Now it is inconveniently placed along the right border. 2. A wrist loop is badly needed; otherwise it is slipping and falling because it's body is so smooth. At least a place (hole) should have been provided to thread the loop in even if it is not supplied.

In the tariff plans given in Rel Infocom home page, I notice the word "data exchange" ; For eg., in the Freedom plan, they r offering 1 GB data exchange for Rs.650/ mth. Does exchange mean they charge for both download and upload or only for download? Any body has any info on this? Thx.

Instead of giving some advantage to the initial & loyal customers, Reliance is charging more for DAPO?

Thanks Prat. Since I have posted that query, I bought the data cable & have been using it successfully for both data transfer & picture transfer. Would like to know whether it is possible to send pictures from PC to phone as well thro data cable. Think some phones have got that facility because in the help file of the Lg link software D/L from lgmobiles.com, i see that provision. One more important thing is I am having to use different com ports (to be set in sync manager) for desktop lite & LG link; otherwise, they r not recognising that the phone is connected to the PC.

Yeah, indeed I didn't look up the earlier discussion. But I did now. I have asked this because some cable ISP's like Hathway do not charge for uploads. However, even after going through the discussions on this topic, it is still not clear how they charge for DAPO users ( I am one ) . Thx.

Finally R world started connecting on my phone. And MMS messages are also going out & coming in.

Code, I have sent an MMS to u just now to your ID given in your post. Pl do try sending mms to my phone no given in my mms. I'm still unable to connect to R World. Thx.

No, not connecting at all. The E Mails & MMS sent from my phone to PC are reaching their destination but not to another 6130. The MMS sent from other phone or PC are not reaching my phone, though it says sent successfully. That means, the outgoing mail server of ricmail is working but not the incoming server.

Well, R World is still not working at 12: 15 PM IST on 14th Jan on RD 6130 but connecting ok on RD 2030. Is the server for MMS enabled phones different?

I could find the specs of RD 6130 on lgmobiles.com. Hardly anything about the camera though : 0.33 MP & the sensor type is CMOS. Of course it is understable because the camera is just an add on to the phone.

Basant, The pic of the child (? your niece's) has come out really good without any CCD noise. Is it unedited? The other one is blurred. By the way, do u have any idea of the camera's specs? If not, any source u know where they are given? If we know the Focal Length, depth of field etc., we can better utilise the camera. Thanks.

Chirag, U can use 1000 characters in MMS messages; not in SMS messages. Basant, Thank u for the info. LG people have sent me the link for LG PC sync software. I wl download it. Reg the camera's picture quality: I, in fact, made it a point to ensure that flash is in off mode during day time photos and also made proper adjustments for light. Despite that, the pictures leave much to be desired. Sure I dont expect the quality as with the higher MP, high precision dig cams but what good is it to get blurred pics all the while? At least in my experience, they are far from being satisfactory leave alone amazing. Or is there something wrong with the camera in my phone? As an Example, I am posting these unedited pictures taken in broad daylight at 640x480 resolution, Brightness set at -2 and with the flash off.
-
Chirag, it's 140 characters.

After the above post, shot some pics and sent to pc by e mail. All of them are blurred (out of focus). Not able to get focus at any range, near or far despite taking adequate precaution to avoid hand shake. All pics are shot at 640x480 resolution. What is the experience of others?

Thank u very much basant. Your review is very useful. I have been using RD 6130 for the last one week and I too find it good in all the respects concerned with the phone but the pics are coming blurred. Yet to see how they look on PC. I have a couple of queries though. 1. Is it possible to transfer the pictures from the gallery to desktop PC? If yes, how? Can we transfer through the appropriate data cable? And can the other data like the names in the phone book be transferred to PC via data cable? 2. If we use the flash as torch light as u have revealed, will it not get damaged because it is designed for flash i.e., to light up for a very short time. Could it be the reason why this feature is not mentioned in the instruction manual? Wl much appreciate if u can provide the info. Thx.
