Hey! I am using ubuntu 5.10, but not RConnect so don't really know much about RConnect. Anyway, according to your dmesg output, after connecting the phone to your computer, Ubuntu is detecting a new USB device, so the modem is being detected for sure. Now download the linux dialer from Reliance site and run the install script with something like sudo sh Install.sh or something.....the filename may differ. Or you can use sudo ./install.sh If its not working, you may have to make it an executable........for that chmod +x install.sh NOTE: This is all assuming the filename is install.sh, if it is something else, subsititute that. Finally, as far as I know the dialer just installs a pppoe client. So here's what your try first sudo pppoeconf see if it detects a pppoe concentrator, you might be able to connect with it.

Did this happen after the rains? I had a similar problem.......I just kept the phone with its back cover open for a day or two, to allow the moisture to evaporate. After that the phone is fine........

Dude the speed you are gettings, 15 KB/s is 120kbps NOT 230 kbps......oh and BTW, the maximum speed possible on the 1X RTT network used by Reliance is 144kbps, limited by the technology.

The reason why CDMA is more spectrum efficient is that in CDMA, the messages are passed in a random order over the wide spectrum and each part of the message is send thru a different frequency. Hence, the same frequency can be used to carry different messages of different users. On the other hand, GSM allocates one frequency in a spectrum to a user for the entire duration of the call. This is also a reason for CDMA being more secure as, even if the communication is intercepted, the interceptor needs to know the exact sequence in which the parts of the message are sent in the different frequencies.

If it is saying invalid recipient, nothing is wrong on your side, the reliance server is responding that way.......and there's nothing u can do about it and except wait and hope it works later.

Project: Connect To Internet Using Microcontroller
adwait replied to rahulbhoi28's topic in Technical / OS related
Those are the software level protocols being used by the computer, what they are talking about is the hardware level protocol used by the phone itself to communicate with the computer. Not very sure how you can find out about that, but I guess u can google it or maybe consult the documentation. Adwait -

Telecome charges are way too high in India. In Dubai, all calls within Dubai from landline to landline are free. Only landline to cell and vice versa and inter city calls are charged.

Hello all, I have signed up and uploaded a midlet, but can't see anything under RWorld>More Service>Tools. I tried mailing them, but no reply . Anyway, can anyone list some links to J2ME tutorials on the net? Adwait -
I sent it directly from my email (gladson@softhome.net) using Outlook 24431[/snapback] gladson: the email should appear to be from an id @rmms.ricmail.com, please read the page CAREFULLY.

Hello all, Did anyone notice that in RWorld>More Services, on coloured handsets all the links are messed up? It shows the icon of one thing, and selecting it leads to something else. Is this happening on everyone's cell or just mine? I have an LG RD 5130. Adwait

Rel Info Introduces Full Suite Of Isp Services
adwait replied to vb86's topic in Reliance Communications
It would be better if you asked the customer execs, but I think the Data call will be charged separately than the voice call, so it cannot be deducted from your 400 minutes.
