Hi. I was under impression that Reliance Prepaid is the best. But recently came to know that TATA is giving better offer in prepaid segment. TATA voucher gives Rs.300 talk time ( Rs.330 - service tax Rs. 30 ). They charge second wise. ie. Pulse per second and 3 paise per sec. I feel this is best option available in prepaid market. Also check tata network and they covered all major cities. In few months, they will cover entire india. So reliance advantage of roaming across the country will end in CDMA as TATA too will give this facility. Please post your comments here so we all can conclude who is the best. Kindly give reasons for your choice. Rgds,

Dhirens replied to Sadikk's topic in Reliance Communications
Was that a joke ? Which dealer gives phone with 2 voucher for 1499 ? Please give contact details here. If dealer told you, why are you asking that here when you know its a steal !!!!!!!! Please post here if prepaid phone is available at Rs.500 or Rs.1500. Also inform who is giving such phones. Also inform what happens if new vouchers are not purchase and if the phone is to be returned to dealer. Rgds, Dhiren. -

Dear Ashok, Now we are married to RELIANCE and cant get divorce, so better to use current phone. They have kept prices too high and at the same time, they dont offer all phones for upgradation. SO i thought I would buy LCD monitor for my PC instead of 2" LCD screen. Rgds, Dhiren.

Finally I have dropped the idea of upgrading a phone. RWW employee advised me to encash payorder So I will encash my PO soon. I dont think that LG 7130 will be introduced again. When RIL have not introduced SAMSUNG COLOR even after 5 months of last peice sold, they will repeat same story in case of LG. It seems that they want to introduce only new models in very high price range. I am constantly checking availability of LG7130 or offer for LG7230 for upgrade and in last 40 days I have received 40 different answers !!!!!!! So finally I concluded that I need not update my handset till it is dead. Let budget 149, economy 149 and prepaid user enjoy high cost of handsets worth Rs.20900 & Rs.21900. RIL have made 20000+ phones only for budget 149 & prepaid people. DAPO people cannot use such a high grade mobiles. HenceI would rather buy a new mobile at 21000/- which will include STD CUG. Instead of spending Rs.19000 on handset upgradation, I will buy something useful. Those who are waiting for upgradation from B/W to LG7130, please decide what else you can buy from this amount as this phone is not going to come ....... And I heard that Nokia color is coming soon......... And obviously, that phone will be offered to new customers Existing members shall be informed about upgradation by proper media & channels after 3 years !!!!!!!!!! RIL, KARLO CUSTOMERS MUTTHI MAI !!!!!!!!!! Rgds, Dhiren.

Good logo. Take discussion forum in next line. Rgds, Dhiren.

If *333 guy gave me correct information, you can upgrade to 2130. Pay 10401 upfront if you are DAPO 21000 customer. If you transfer your handset to new customer under postpaid, you will save Rs.3000. Its not worth getting 2130. Only change in that phone is that you can send sms to 5 at a time. Go for 7230 whenever offered. Rgds, Dhiren.

When I inquired options on *333, a guy informed me that LG B/W can be upgraded to LG moonlight. And cost is Rs.10401 ( DAPO 21000 payment ) When color handset is available at this price who is gonna buy B/W ? And RWW say that moonlight phone is not available for upgradation. RIL people talk anything .........

Thanks Ashok...... That means R-connect is good for net purpose. Not for business mails. rgds, Dhiren.

Dear Ashok, Thanks for reply. I understand POP. POP3 a/c can be accessed from any network or ISP. Hence getting VSNL emails in R-connect should not be a problem. I need answer on how to send email from R-connect , say, xyz@vsnl.com and using which SMTP ? Rgds, Dhiren.

Good Joke !!! Please keep on posting to the group. Really loved your joke. You want RIL to give you gold medal for that ? Dude, pay your bills and be happy. This forum is not for joke. Rgds, Dhiren.

Guys I have a question on SMTP. I am using VSNL email for my personal & business use. When I connect net from VSNL dial up, I can send email to anybody. VSNL condition is that sender emails should belong to VSNL for sending emails. Now when I connect from MTNL, I cant send email using my VSNL ID. VSNL rejects email giving relay error. However when I connect net using my HUGHES ( TATA ) phone, they have given SMTP server using which I can send email to anyone and there is no condition for sender's email ID. ie. sender email can be any like hotmail, yahoo or vsnl or anything. I cant send yahoo email from outlook express using VSNL connection. Similarly Lan internet & Hathway provide SMTP server for sending emails where there is no restriction of sender email. I understood from this discussion that there are service providers who allow smtp. Say gawab.... But here they wont allow outgoing email as VSNL. Outgoing email must be something@gawab. So please inform if one can use VSNL or YAHOO mail using OUTLOOK EXPRESS while connection is made from R-connect. If someone is successful using another SMTP than the RIL, please explain how it works. If it is useful, I can buy cable and use RIM for sending emails. Awaiting a good solution soon. Rgds, Dhiren.
-
R-connect users, please let me know if you can use email client like outlook express , outlook or Eudora with R-connect. Since VSNL & Major ISP dont allow relay, RIL must be giving SMTP server for sending emails. What is SMTP server in RIL ? Does RIL giving login name & password for sending email ? Please clarify if this is known to someone. Rgds, Dhiren.

RIM Prepaid to be avl in 500 / 1499 / 1800
Dhirens replied to Sadikk's topic in Reliance Communications
Whats the difference between LG-2030 prepaid phone and post paid phone ? If there is no difference at all, one should get such phone for Rs.500. After using 2 coupons, one can keep handset for future use when original instrument alloted becomes faulty or useless. Any idea if current phone can be used in prepaid ? What I mean is I am going to upgrade my mobile and wish to transfer my mobile instrument to the one who is interested in prepaid. This way I can save some amount of depreciation. RIL does not allow such transfer at present but I am interested in knowing if it is possible technically. One of RIL guy informed me that RIL wants to keep prepaid and postpaid instruments seperate and hence such transfer will not be allowed. They can recognise phone with serial number or RSN and hence prepaid cannot be used in postpaid and post paid cannot be used in prepaid service. I feel everything is possible in today's world and RIL need not keep record of serial or RSN. They should be concerned only with connection type. Please post your views. Rgds, Dhiren. -
At present, CDMA phones are not available in market and one has to purchase CDMA phone from mobile service provider unlike GSM. inquire in RWW ( A good RWW ) and you will find that last year in March - April, a scheme was available where one had to purchase mobile from RELIANCE and no other commitments to be made. The scheme was at par like MTNL. I dont know if such scheme exists today. If you visit RWW today, you will understand that RIL is still selling instruments which are not offered for upgradations. LG CAMERA model is available that way even today. You can own that phone by paying full price and returning FREE INSTRUMENT that RIL gave you. ( FREE AS PER THEIR OFFER ) I clearly mentioned that a phone should be compatible in network. Hence one should understand that compatible phones for RIL networks are not available in market at the moment. As far as profit is concerned, I have made no comments and its reliance's right to make profit. Rgds, Dhiren.

A CDMA phone must be compatible in CDMA network. RIL has added many advance features in handset like R-Connect and etc. If RIL compatible phone with better features are available, RIL should not mind people using such phones. I remember that in original offer, along with DAPO, there was a scheme where customer had to purchase cdma phone and can have phone connection where no commitment of 3 years was asked. For that scheme, RIL was selling LG phone for Rs.10500. Cistomer had right to disconnect a phone connection in one month also and need not return phone. Let us first findout if any such scheme exist wherein a customer brings mobile instrument and he gets connection. No commitment. Please post your views Rgds, Dhiren.
