Android central has posted a new tar which lets u update to a pre rooted stock EC05 without losing data ( if you are already on Froyo), perfect for people like me who hate data restores after each flash. http://forum.androidcentral.com/epic-4g-rooting-roms-hacks/71389-odin-ec05-froyo-ec05-prerooted-cwm-v2-5-1-0-rfs-odexed.html

sir, i never got a chance to see evdo working on my incredible purchased from tarun sir.. although, evdo was working perfectly well earlier on my samsung mpower txt.. it seems there is some configuration issue.. please help in rectifying that.. Do you have your EVDO, login and password details. You will have to enter them while making the NV dump, or u will only have 1x
-
Am not sure about EC05 but i had faced the same reboot issues with rworld plan on EB13 also. The way i got around is by first flashing the complete data dump for mdn as username and password, then flashing a partial dump with the rworld plan username and password. This way i was able to use rworld without the reboots.

slipped this beast for not having this feature and settled down with former one, droid incredible.. but am pretty sure, that this can be achieved.. slightly OT : how to configure netconnect plan, i.e., using MDN as U/N & P/W.. Follow this thread http://mobile5.in/forums/index.php?/topic/307-configuring-netconnect-data-plan-with-optional-evdo/page__pid__1316#entry1316

Just got the EB13 to EC05 update. I have pulled the file and attaching it. Cant install it yet as am rooted with loads of junk removed. http://www.mediafire.com/?44q48wjv65pqaq9

I think i can explain the resets. I am using EVDO and not had a reset since i reprogrammed about 15 days back. Only time i again started having them was when i flashed the Rworld generic file posted by Dhiraj. I flashed netconnect full data nv dump and they vanished. Then to use rworld plan i made a partial rworld nv dump and flashed it over the netconnect one and was again rock steady.

I think that radio parameters are for EB13 and that's why you may be facing problems. Flash EB13 or wait till tomorrow for EC05 ( The latest update) to be out and you can try flashing it.

Nam is specific to each phone it contains information which identifies the phone to the network. MIN is the number the network knows you by. Hope you had saved your nam before loading the qpst file.
-
Just check whether your MIN is loaded correctly. how about trying to load the nam again. Your radio is working correctly if you are able to call customer care, has to be an issue with the nam settings.
-
Did u reload the saved nam settings from cdma workshop.

Had been running this since the 10th with no reboots till yesterday when i loaded the rworld generic data file and started getting reboots.
-
Hetal is the guru of all things. With the phone reprogrammed have been running stable on stock EB13 for the last few days. But yesterday after i loaded the generic rworld data file again started having reboots, which appeared to have again disappeared after reverting back to netconnect.

There is an indirect way i use. Download speed test app from the market and do a test. EVDO typically shows a ping time of 200-300ms with speed above 180kbps. 1x will show a ping of 800-900ms with speeds below 140kpbs.

I cant get the taste of Froyo out my mouth!!!. Need feedback has anyone found a stable rom without reboots , or better yet found a solution to the problem itself???
-
Has it solved the reboot issues??
-
Same here , am also back on eclair now. Froyo was good but i had started dreading those 3 shakes and the screen locks, and yesterday i was in continuous boot loops. Guess we have to wait for the new update to see how it turns out. Maybe they will just skip froyo and go to gingerbread !!!!!!! Wishful thinking!!! Oh in all this somehow i managed to screw up my EVDO settings and am stuck on 1x.

I have noticed that when the phone hangs up after a signal loss it transiently ( may be less then a sec) it goes into roaming mode ( the warning triangle comes on, and if the roaming guard is on it flashes), Can it be a issue with some programming parameters or with the PRL. Gurus pls comment if possible. It may be worthwhile to for people having this issue to compare notes( phone parameters etc) with those who are not facing it. If this thing is sorted out it makes the update more then worth it.

Any updates!!!! did u solve the reboot problem. I am very happy with my froyo except for these reboots specially when they happen while u want to make a call. @harismahesh , has flashing the deodexed rom solved the reboot issue for you? Found a useful trick: If you sweep left on the recent call log it directly calls the person and if you sweep right it goes to messaging.

Just finished doing a fresh wipe and install and the phone promptly rebooted on its own before i even installed any app. So guess its a problem with the update per se. If you Google for 'Froyo reboots' most phones have had this at one time or the other. Hope a fix comes out soon. By the way for people with docks this thread solves the issue of lineout for audio http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=966234

Tried doing that but still having those occasional hangups with loss of signal and blackout of the screen. Will try to do repeat wipe and install in the evening and see if it fixes the problem. Some people have reported similar problems on xda also, but no cause or solution yet. Has the stock browser become more choppy with frequent checkered screen after the update or is it only me.

Just updated to Froyo, with the samsung exe file and restored all apps via titanium. The phone has definitely become faster and more responsive. But have noticed a few problems 1) The signal drops suddenly ( maybe radio rebooting) and the phone just hangs when it comes back. This lasts for about 20-30 seconds and after its starts working, the default wallpaper gets restored and the phone refuses to connect to wifi unless its manually switched on and off. 2) If you check in the battery usage the signal shows a very high percentage of no signal time. ( have tried the old airplane mode thing, but not sure whether is working or not)
