Strangely, I have done almost everything that you have done, including the same mistakes, and corrections, I still can't connect!! Edit: My MEID is not 000000000, do you think that would make any difference? Also, I get an error, when I write to phone saying The mobile reported the following errors while writing NV items: "NV Item: NV_UE_IMEI_I and Status:NV_READONLY_S" I also get the same error everytime I write data to the phone. I just ignored it and nothing happened .

My data is working fine now. I entered UTS@relianceinfo.com as my NAI in the 1st profile and then configured the rworld username and password in ppp um tab and voila my internet is now working. ] Thanks to all for bearing with me and solving this. Special thanks to @dkaile ji for instructing me step by step and guiding me throught the whole process. and @dpinal for give me that last crucial settings.

I made all of them 0.0.0.0 but its the same no change it doesnt connect. Please advice further.

@dkaile ji muje nahi bhul jaiyega. I tried as per dpinal but no internet. Again i have noticed that under MIP he has a second profile configured while mine is blank. Kya ye reason hai for my phone not connecting. I have put screenshots of my setting , pls see and advice sunny: And when i check under the set profile i get this this is the difference between my phone and both dpinal and sunny. All other setting i have matched and seen but the net refuses to connect.

yes, this phone may not connect to network. then can i request sunny to post a screen shot of these setting so i can try applyin to our phones

i tried matching settings with sunny with sid and nid filled in but did not help. @dkaile and muffadal, under the MIP tab in user profile sunny has both the first and second profiles enabled with ip addresses. i have only first active with a blank for the second one, which on editing shows NAI as sprint. Is it of any significance. Just a noob question.Pls dont screw me for this.

Data not working. Was on stock rom with root never loaded any other rom. My phone details are: Baseband version: 2.42.01.04.27 Software no 2.27.651.5 PRI 2.20_003 PRL 005

The ruu has a built in radio update also. When u run it , it first updats ur radio then ur rom.

Can u give me your setting of QPST.,. i cannot mail the qspt setting as i told u , it contains esn and all information which cannot be shared. but as i said i can try to help u check the settings..if there is any way then suggest. How about if u can take screen shots of the main tabs and cover ur esn and min and other id information . So we can compare other settings.

I dont think that is possible as our boot loader has also been updated. I think the update per se is flawed.

Can u give it to me also, am having the same issues. Am not at all happy with this update, it is using battery like anything , net doesnt work. Messaging app is also much slower then the older one. @dkaile , if we try to re install the ruu is it likely to help?

I think the post should read that u cannot screw up ur hero if u have people like dkaile to help u unscrew ur self.. Thank you dkaile ji for getting my phone up and running again . Now all remains is the matter of the internet , the funny part is that is working for some and not working for some , maybe depends on the initial programming , any how will leave it our gurus to figure it out. I more irritating thing i have found out is that htc facebook sync now also connects the persons email id and phone no from facebook to ur account. when these people are in a group and u want to send a group forward its the email id which comes by default and not the mobile no. Any easy solution?

Doing that but now have mangaged to completly screw up the phone dont have any in or outgoing calls atall need HELP Pls!!! . Am getting the reliance signal but get call dropped everytime

I have change the setting as per dkaile but still no luck internet still not working :'( . I noticed that the nam name . directory no,home sid had changed. have updated the prl also but no luck!!!

Its still not working. I tried your suggestion but it didnt help. I think the settings have reverted back to sprint as i can see sprint as the dns server. Can u please tell me how to programme it back for reliance. My prl was 001 before also how do i install the new one. @arun are u getting the handfree activation screen everytime u reboot

@Arun I just did the update and am not able to use my mobile internet. It keeps saying 'Disconnected because service is unavailaible'. Did u have any such problems or was everything working from the start. My voice\sms everything else is working fine.Hope its some network problem which resolves by itself by tommorow, otherwise guru's get ready to help!!! PS My PRI is updated to 2.20_003 PRL is the same 001 does it make a difference.

I dont think there is a way to root it as of now. Only option to maintain root is not to use the official RUU and use one of the custom 2.1 roms. Has anyone updated their phones how is it??

Sprint hero 2.1 OFFICIAL RELEASE!!! Its here FINALLY!!!! http://support.sprint.com/support/article/Find_and_update_the_software_version_on_your_HTC_Hero/case-gb746811-20091009-155624 Though they still have to load the software but atleast the support page is up so soon....

Has anyone tried this, its suppose to be the real thing although sprint is yet to officially release it.Here is a video of it I have a doubt as an when the official sprint rom comes out if we flash it do we have to reprogram our phones for reliance or it will still run without a hitch. Wont the updated radio screw up the setting.

True but there are lot of sites like ndtv etc where the native browser is not able to play the videos. This browser does .

Yes you can.You can install a tethering app like pdanet or easytether from the market and use them to surf the net using the phones mobile internet connection. Charges will be as for the mobile internet plan. Otherwise u can turn on the mobile internet sharing option on the phone and use it to surf via usb. this will be charged as rconnect charges i think.( i have not tried this so not sure)
