  4. News Snippets

Kingfisher airlines will not fly any more. Govt has suspended its license today.
  5. Telenor has decided to put in a bid under a new entity- Telewings Communications. So 'Uninor' will become a history. There is a strong possibility that Mukesh Ambani's RIL builds an understanding with Venugopal Dhoot's Videocon for future telecom business. The licence-scrapped companies will have to bid for minimum of four spectrum blocks at a price of Rs. 14K crore for 1800MHz. Tata will be bidding for only three circles where it lost its CDMA permits. There will be no auction for 800MHz spectrum in Rajasthan where the best network of MTS is present along with Rev B data. No new foreign operator is bidding although the government made special provisions earlier this month, permitting foreign entities to participate in the 2G auctions without an Indian partner ( However, to start operations in India, such players were required to form a joint venture with an Indian partner later).
  6. Mukesh Ambani's RIL and Sistema Shyam (MTS) is not there in 2G spectrum auction! Today (19th Oct) was the last day to submit bid papers. Vodafone has submitted applications for 17 circles in 1800 MHz band, AirTel for around six circles, Videocon for 15 GSM and around 10 CDMA circles and Tata Teleservices for three circles where it lost its CDMA permits. A plethora of options will open with new players like Videocon bidding in CDMA sector in coming year. I don't know what will happen here at my place with Tata DoCoMo and Reliance yet to launch EVDO and MTS is the only option (GSM 3G options are not at all good here) Read today's ET article here.
  7. Buying a new Bike? Discuss here!

Here is a comparison at IBNlive
  8. Yes, I also recommend lenskart. I have purchased a total of 6 specs and 1 powered sunglasses ranging from Odyssey to Vogue. Their packing is one of the best in online business and shipping is very prompt. The pricing is good, offer various discounts and there are a good number of options of choosing frames along with power. The power prescription can be sent afterwards also by writing a mail or by just scanning it and attaching it with the mail.
  9. Discounts & Deals For Non Electronics/Gadget Stuff

It's supposed to be like this. But in ebay.in it's a bit lax. If the seller doesn't ship you may not get the refund. I've had this bad experience, and that too with this particular seller only. Spending time on raising issue with ebay for miniscule amounts like Rs. 19 or Rs. 29 etc is impractical and there is ample possibility of not keeping track on these deals.
  10. Discounts & Deals For Non Electronics/Gadget Stuff

First-time buy on Ebay from your account is a must. Creating new accounts every time that too for different shopping addresses is really difficult. Otherwise this seller will make refund. And the worst part of it is that the seller forgets to refund and the buyer forgets about it (as the amount is really small). So, better avoid these deals to avoid unnecessary headache.
  11. Discounts & Deals For Non Electronics/Gadget Stuff

^ Imho this seller (sankalpdeals) is highly avoidable.
  12. ^ Do you mean to say 'proprietary CDMA smartphone'? There are so many proprietary handsets that Reliance markets e.g. Classic (made by ZTE, LG, etc) Even Nokia 6275 was marketed bearing 'Reliance' logo.
  13. Is this the FIRST CDMA smartphone launched by Reliance? What about Samsung Galaxy S aka Fascinate/Mesmerize? Or Galaxy i899? Or is this a pioneer for having bundled offer?
  14. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

It is priced Rs. 268.95 @ Play Store.
  15. Yes, I know your choice. Still

  19. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

That's is Mithi, my niece with Pingley, my loving cat. @silent_god, take any colourful picture and edit, you'll get the difference. You can edit a picture of a rose to make it coloured keeping rest of the pic black&white. I preferred my own picture.
  20. Are they telling about that taking over of Aircel?
  21. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

Color Splash Effect Pro v1.2.6 a nice picture editing application which is available at Play Store for Rs. 103.13 Apart from highlighting a pic with color (other portions remain converted into greyscale), there are 37 unique predefined effects, different brush styles, with which pics can be given artistic look very easily. 22. Thanks Aalok and Kapil for reply. Will wait for Aalok's reply. Also please suggest a good Ebay deal, I'll buy one if Tata EVDO works on it.
  23. Will not this work for EVDO on Tata DoCoMo CDMA? If yes, I'll try one. Please let me know where from can I get Mtag (unlocked) at the cheapest rate?
  24. Samsung Galaxy S3

^ Thanks for the link. It is similar to rooting using odin. Only the update file is being downloaded through a software via PC. I wonder if this process will work on a rooted phone or not? I cannot try this until my BSNL EVDO restores. The only internet I'm having is the MTS one, which is in the S3 itself. So, it cannot work while the phone is connected for this update. In XDA forum, it has been written that Verizon ROMs (only custom not the stock ones) work on US Cellular handsets. Should I try custom jellybean ROM?
