sougatadc replied to rajanmehta's topic in General Technical Discussion
Olive's own website is opening. Try to buy from there, it's cheapest (Rs. 2999) if bought from them directly. But if you are ready to belch out Rs. 60 more, buy it from Letsbuy. It is so easy. You will get it at Rs. 3059 (after coupon rcomlb1).- 6,376 replies

NoLED serves the purpose. I'm attaching the apk file. NoLED works with SMS/MMS, Gtalk, Gmail, Missed calls, Voicemail, Calendar without any additional permissions. It can be customized whether to have a dot or an icon for each type of supported notification. The colors of these icons/dots are also customizable. NoLED-4.4.3.apk Rajan ji, why not Apple's hardware? Samsung may be cheaper, but isn't Apple the pioneer in Slate version of Smart Phones? And still they hold the special niche in the entire smart phone market despite steep competition from open market contenders. Anyways, your Nirvana equation is interesting. I am having the opportunity to play with Galaxy S-II of my colleague who purchased it last week.

Skype 2.1 For Android Enables Video On Majority Of Android Devices
sougatadc replied to rahuldixit2010's topic in Android
Thanks. That must be the fix. I'll try after rooting. For Skype, Epic is advantageous over Fascinate, because it has front camera. -
Skype 2.1 For Android Enables Video On Majority Of Android Devices
sougatadc replied to rahuldixit2010's topic in Android
I tried to use the stock Skype application of Verizon which prompts a dialog box to put off wifi. I tried Skype from market, when I try to sign in, it asks me to install it again. After fresh installation, it repeats the same message : Please re-install Skype. How to fix. Please guide @ Rajan Mehta, @ Sumit Verma -
Skype 2.1 For Android Enables Video On Majority Of Android Devices

The worst part of Skype on mobile is that it is not supported through Wifi internet :'( It's too costly to use on mobile. -

MNP: Last Nail In The Coffin For CDMA?
sougatadc replied to Arun's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
I'm with CDMA because the call quality is much better. The secondary reasons are steady internet on mobile and availability of world-class handsets at much cheaper rates through our beloved forum. Here at West Bengal the presence of R-CDMA is so low, the port-in or port-out figure will certainly be very less. I don't have any idea on T-CDMA port-in or port-out statistics here. But at today's situation, I'm not thinking about porting out my T-CDMA number to anywhere. -
Tata Docomo On Milking Spree

MCA, if not free, not required. It can be disabled. -
The gadget Rahul suggested is a trimmer, not a shaver, I presume from the picture. A trimmer is used to make the beard to be trimmed to various sizes, from short stubble to longer ones. I use a trimmer of National make (made in Japan) for last 9 years. It's so sturdy. I used a Braun (German) shaver. That was also very good.

DoT Proposes One Nation, One Market Policy
sougatadc replied to rajanmehta's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
It would be something like a dream come true if it really happens in our country. I'll pray to God that no vicious lobby succeeds to defeat this move by DOT and 'aam aadmi' gets benefited. -
In Rest of West Bengal circle, very few people use RGSM. I don't have any friend who uses one. The dismal condition of its network has forced users to abandon RGSM. I cannot verify this offer.

Verizon Samsung Fascinate - Beauty With The Brains
sougatadc replied to rajanmehta's topic in Samsung
Here are some hidden menus for Fascinate. I've used a few of them on my Fascinate and found really helpful for changing some basic settings. My phone is not a rooted one. Rooting is not essential for using these codes. It's really risky to play with hidden menues if you are not confident on your phone. So, make a backup of your phone. To enable Hidden menu, do the following: Go into the Dialer and enter *#83786633 then press the Home key Go back into the phone dialer and enter *#22745927 Now a box will come up asking for the SPC code. Enter 000000 Press the Hidden menu Enable radio button. Now these codes can be used. ##RTN# - Real-Time Network, i.e. ##786# (RTN) Lots of useful information, like the Life timer / calls and Life Byte usage stats, whether the phone is new of refurbished.. etc Audio Tuning *#28346# Several audio tuning menus. I've only tested the two items below: To silence boot and shutdown audio go to Situation/BOOTSOUND and turn the values to 0. I've tested and confirmed this works. To silence the volume key audio when turning the volume up/down go to Situation/VOLUMEKEY and turn the values to 0. I've tested and confirmed this works. Full Bat Popup *#3844228# This allows you to disable the full battery pop-up. I have tested this and it works successfully. HwCodec *#0002*28346# Audio path volume controls. Most importantly, it looks like there's a sidetone adjustment. I have not tested any of these items yet. Shutdown *#7594# This enables you to shut your phone off by long-pressing the power/lock key. No more pop-up confirmation. I have tested this and it works successfully. I also need to point out that this disables your slide lock screen. Diag/Testing Mode *#4636*1111# GPSSetup menu *#1472365# The settings are set to the "fixed" values by default. You can go into Command and then start GPS and force a satellite lock. There's other cool info there too. *#7594# If your enable this, it appears to not only shutdown your phone with a long press of the power key, but it also disables your lock screen (puzzle/glass screen). I found the puzzle to unlock very annoying, so I disabled it. My phone screen opens without any lock. Enter GPS debug/settings application by typing *#1472365# click "Setup" tab click "position mode" Click "starting mode Enable "Cold Start" Back out. Very useful tests for the GPS!!! Setup/Position Mode/ Operation Mode: (Standalone/MSAssisted/MSBased) Starting Mode: (Cold Start/Warm Start/Hot Start) Session Type: (Single Fix/Navigation) Setup/Command allows you to test the GPS and look at the results *#INFO*1111# - Testing Phone information/Battery information/Battery history/Usage statistics Very useful diagnostics *#0*# - LCD TEST red/green/blue/melody/vibration/dimming/megacam/Sensor/touch/sleepmode/LED/RECEIVER Very useful tests for the LCD *#DATA*727336*# - DataCreate Call log/System Space/User Space/Phone Book/Schedule/Message/Ring tone/Screen/IMEI/ESN/Error log Very useful information!!! *#0228# - BatteryStatus Very useful real-time battery statistics!
