  1. Please Suggest: Samsung Nexus S or Samsung S2

^^^ I'll try for the system suggested by you for conferencing in roaming. I presume adding a '3' manually or selecting it from the contact list are all the same. Anyways, I'll check it. I've tried Go SMS a number of times. It failed to generate delivery notification. I again installed Go SMS Pro and tried. In the Setting, I enabled Delivery reports. But it is giving successful Sending Notification only. Is that sufficient for delivery notification? I checked it by sending test messages to my other number. It generated "message sent successfully" notification after the messages got delivered.

^ Aalok, can you make cconference calls from your incredible while you are in roaming condition? How did Amit Shah help you on this? Please specify.

I'm facing three problems after I switched over to android, especially to Fascinate. First, it doesn't provide SMS delivery notification. Applications available in the market cannot solve the problem. I'm talking about Tata Indicom. Other members on Reliance may share their experience, if otherwise. I'm not sure whether it is an android issue or not. Also not sure whether the later versions of android (froyo or gingerbread) have solved this SMS delivery notification issue or not. Second, Fascinate doesn't allow conference calling while in roaming. Adding a '3' before connecting the second number doesn't solve the problem. I never faced this with hTc Touch (Sprint Vogue). This is a very big problem for me. While I'm in home circle, I face no problem in making conference calls. Third, if you use TataZone internet packs which are wap packs, you will be able to browse only on the default browser. Better browsers like Opera or Dolphin cannot be used. Also you will not be able to use google applications like Market, Map, Gmail etc. Although I access Gmail on wap in a round-about way. On WiFi all applications are fully accessible. This problem was not there at all with windows phone. These are the only issues I experienced with Fascinate. Otherwise it is a marvel. The super AMOLED screen on gorilla glass is super sensitive and fantastic. The SWYPE allows very fast input (I'm writing this post on my phone quite fast) and this facility is absent in Incredible. The GPS, accelerometer, compass, camera, speaker of Fascinate are of very good standard. You'll love to use this sleek marvel.

^^^ Regarding build quality I also have the same view. hTc's build quality is good, but Samsung's high end phones are not bad either. I used hTc Touch whose touch panel got damaged because sweat seeped through invisible gap between the touch panel and the body. I had to replace it as a portion of the touch panel got non-responsive. But Samsung Fascinate has better build quality. It has gorilla glass which is highly scratch resistant and also the back cover is quite good. I'm using Fascinate for the four months and it is still in impeccable condition - no scratches at all. I use a cloth pouch that I got with Polaroid sunglasses. I'm procuring special pouch from US.
  5. This is the first occasion that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has said on record that Tata Telecom did not benefit in any way from the 2G Spectrum licence scam that rocked the Congress-led government. The CBI told in the court that Tata Telecom didn't get benefit in the Rs 1.76 lakh crore scandal. “There was no illegality in the granting of the 2G licences to the Tatas,” the CBI said in its submission to the New Delhi court. “The real beneficiaries are the new people who got new licences,” the submission said.
  6. TATA Docomo New GPRS Plans

Tata DoCoMo has revised the 2G data packs again. Rs. 65 pack is available all over India except Bihar, where the price point is RC 63.

    What was the price?
  8. Messages Getting Deleted From HTC Droid Incredible

^^^ Yes, I also have the same opinion. Some software become nuisance and we cannot find who is doing the sabotage. Manuj delete SMS/Call blocking software, if you have installed any and see what happens.
  9. EVDO plans are much costlier.
  10. You can buy Sanyo Eneloop charger at around Rs. 700 from ebay There are Kodak charger with two spare batteries for Rs. 375 or with 4 spare batteries for Rs. 600. You can also buy Sony charger with two spare batteries for Rs. 795. I would suggest you to buy spare batteries of greater capacities (Energizer, Sanyo Eneloop, Duracell, Eveready of 2500 mAH or more). The free spare batteries are often of smaller capacities. You can also buy USB chargeable batteries.

^ Very well said Rajan ji. I liked the concept of 'lerner license'. Great idea.
  12. So, TataIndicom is playing a trick, trapping the customers into the area and subsequently will earn by auto-renewing the subscription. It is better to go directly to Hungama for this.
  13. ^^^ Well suggested. However, there are some professionals whose one of the various perks is high-end phone and free calls. These professionals cannot buy these marvels from our beloved forum only because the gurus cannot provide bills. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure that the sell of these handsets would have multiplied
  14. a la handset radiation limit (SAR), do the operators observe radiation limit of the antennae fixed on the towers? And nowadays, the probability of hazard has shoot up as number of operators have gone up considerably and every operator has antennae around you. Nobody is happy if the signal is poor, so the operators tend to keep the signal high which makes the radiation more. There are so many voice/data signals omnipresent (BSNL mobile,EVDO/1X, 3G; Vodafone; AirTel, Aircel, Uninor; TataIndicom; Virgin; Tata DoCoMo; Reliance GSM; Reliance CDMA; Netconnect/1X; MTS; !dea), many operators are sharing the same towers, it is highly necessary to have ombudsman for radiation from towers also.
  15. It was long due. Terrorism has long been subsided owing to better administration. The law & order situations are much better now and the central Govt. is also promoting tourism in north-eastern states and J&K.
  16. Nokia To Use Windows Mobile in Smart Phones

In any case Nokia will be a loser. It has overstayed with an obsolete OS (Symbian) and now getting ready to plunge into a bigger field where already big players have made there presence secure. Only die-hard Nokia fans will buy Win-Mo from Nokia.
  17. Buying Advice - Dual SIM GSM Phone

In non-Smart field the Koreans are ruling. Others like Nokia, Motorola or Sony-Ericsson are lagging behind.
  18. TATA Indicom Billing Woes

If you want to have any critical problem attended, complain booked you will be required to spend this type of energy and time. This is only because most of the executives bother little to get themselves updated. They are too poorly paid to get the impetus for doing any positive work.
  19. TATA Indicom Billing Woes

Why can't they make the software error-free? They launch various STVs, changes tariff, but they don't make any dry-run on the software before launching.

  21. Recently I've started to face a new problem that sometimes my phone (Samsung Fascinate on TataIndicom postpaid) does not get incoming calls. I can make outgoing calls without any glitches. On the other hand I am receiving free Missed Calls Alert messages through which I come to know that somebody tried to call me.The caller gets the notification, “the called subscriber is busy on another call” but in reality my phone is in standby mode (not engaged in voice or data)when this happens. This is very annoying. I complained about this to TataIndicom. This issue is yet to be resolved. Once I was called from Hyderabad by TataIndicom's technical team and was advised to restart my phone which I already did number of times. Even their call could not reach me number of times. Is it an A-key problem? I asked them about this, but they denied. Is there any software problem, the newly launched free missed call alert service is doing any nuisance? I cannot press them hard as my phone is an imported one and having E$N of my earlier handset. Can anybody help on this, please?
  22. It was Rs. 99 per month for unlimited local on-net calls (Virgin/Tata Indicom/Tata DoCoMo/T24) and now only for Rs. 50 more the postpaid subscribers can enjoy a whopping 25 hours (90,000 seconds) of on-net STD calls. This is amazing! I've subscribed this add-on pack and chatting leisurely with my sister who stays in Mumbai since last week. I'm loving it.
  23. My dear friend, write mail directly to Anil Sadarna, MD of Tata Indicom, giving details of your wrong bill. You will be contacted by somebody from the MD's desk. If they try to prove it otherwise, stick to your point. You'll get refund. I was first to point out this error. It took two billing cycles to rectify, and I got refunds for two consecutive months. If you need, I may provide the mails I wrote to Mr Anil Sadarna, MD, Tata Indicom.
