  1. I wanted to initiate a new thread on this, but already there have been two long threads on MNP, so I refrained myself.... I want to ask everybody, post-MNP which operator to switch to? Everybody please suggest which is the best operator vis-a-vis voice-tariff/data/VAS/network/clarity/GSM<->CDMA/Postpaid<->Prepaid ??
  2. Uninor is charging only Rs. 24 for 1GB, Rs. 47 for 2.5 GB and Rs. 90 for 6 GB. Moreover, fro social networking sites 30MB is also free benefit. While everybody is reducing tariff, TataIndicom is hiking its data tariff Even Tata is not hostile in GSM.
  3. It was really overdue. Political hooliganism from Karunanidhi couldn't succeed, this is good.
  4. How To Make Conference Call On Htc Evo 4G

This process works in home circle only. While on roaming, you need to dial 3 from the keypad while the second party's phone is ringing. As the second party responds, pressing SEND key connects. In roaming condition, simple process of 'Call first number, call the second number keeping the first one on hold, and connect by pressing the SEND key' doesn't help.
  5. TataIndicom has hiked the tariff of internet packs in the prepaid section. The new tariff for prepaid packs are as follows: Rs. 5 (1 Day) 15 MB :: Rs. 12 (3 Days) 40 MB :: Rs. 33 (15 Days) 115 MB :: Rs. 43 (30 Days) 150 MB :: Rs. 94 (60 Days) 350 MB :: Rs. 320 (90 Days) 1024 MB Now a meagre 150MB will be available with Rs. 43 recharge. Fortnight pack of Rs. 33 gives only 115 MB. And 1GB costs Rs. 320 The postpaid tariff remains to be the same as it was launched: Rs. 43 30 Days 1 GB Rs. 94 30 Days 2.5 GB
  6. Install Android 2.2.1 Froyo On Iphone 3G / 2G

Someone please do it and post his experience here.
  7. Install Android 2.2.1 Froyo On Iphone 3G / 2G

Even very few persons on xda.developers furum have tried and found it helpful. How many rimwebians have spare iPhone to be tested for Android installation? It's also difficult to revert to iOS if you dislike android on it. Windows mobiles are rather good for android makeover, as I've observed in xda.developers forum.
  8. And only SIM slot, no USB MODEM connection option. So, it cannot be used to share EVDO/1X internet from Tata Photon Whiz/Plus or Reliance Net Connect or MTS Blaze. This is not good.
  9. If it happens, it will be really great.
  10. Yes, I don't believe them. They sent only the code, no date, nothing else. I was just checking whether it is there or not. At the time of real porting, I'll go the BSNL office and do it there on their system. I'll not take chance. Whenever I'll be allowed to port, I'll not wait.
  11. It took 3 days for BSNL to send me the code for portability of my postpaid number. Today I received the code. This shows BSNL is ready at out place (West Bengal).
  12. If it goes on like this, a considerable amount of users of this forum (who are vying for superior handsets on Tata Indicom network) will loose interest. Because shifting from one handset to another for better taste is a common feature for many users who are members here. Sellers, who are doing a great job of introducing us to modern handset world are also loosing interest.
  13. How To Increase Internet (through Mobile) Speed?

    Kya idea hai Sirji!
  14. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

With MyMobiler software. Save the screenshot with the fourth from right icon on the menu.
  15. Vote For Best OS

Win7. Its fast and not nagging like XP. Doesn't require installation of many drivers. Search option is also very good. I haven't used Ubuntu. I'm required to use RedHat in my office, but I don't find it as user friendly as Windows. Plug-n-play is difficult (because of driver scarcity).
  16. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

So, is it an OS problem (Symbian vs Windows)?
  17. Sharing/ strategic alliance is not a new option for the operators as I've noticed. For laying down of optical fibre network there was collaboration/alliance of Bharti-Vodafone-Tata at least in our state.
  18. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

Can you tell me what exactly is the issue when using Mobile Skin on Opera Mini? Signing in with Opera Mini is not easy. When I started checking on the replying option the sign-in page was getting repeated. I was giving my username and password but the page was coming back again when I'm tapping on the 'Sign In' button. Finally, when it was working, i.e. when I got signed in, whenever I tapped on a 'Reply' button, in the next page I was signed out, so, replying from mobile was not possible. When I signed in from that particular page, and I tapped on a 'reply' button, I got signed out again. I was trying on normal skin and mobile skin both.
  19. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

Yes, Kumaar, I wrongly termed it Opera Mobile, it should be Opera Mini. I use version 5.0.3521. I haven't tried Skyfire recently. Actually, Opera Mini's this version is otherwise very good. As you have pointed out, it is quite light, requires less data and most importantly it allows to view pages in Indian languages (Bangla, Hindi etc). Have you noticed, IP. Board's Mobile skin is also not error-free? Did you face the same problem as I encountered while replying? Sign-in -> try to reply -> get automatically signed out.
  20. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

@Kumaar, Yes, I'm facing problem. Refreshing the page is bringing the portion I'm viewing, not the whole page. If I navigate lower portion, which was blank earlier, it requires repeated refreshing which is cumbersome. IP.Board Mobile skin also doesn't help. Also, I used to reply from my mobile earlier regularly. Didn't reply from mobile recently after the updation. Now after you queried, I was trying to check it. I couldn't sign in from my mobile on Opera Mobile easily. The sign-in page was getting repeated. I was giving the username and password but the page was coming back again when I'm tapping on the 'Sign In' button. Finally, when it was working, i.e. when I got signed in, whenever I tapped on a 'Reply' button, in the next page I was signed out, so, replying from mobile was not possible. When I signed in from that particular page, and I tapped on a 'reply' button, I got signed out again. This is a new problem. I also asked Rajan the same question you asked, which version of Opera Mobile he is using, he didn't reply. @Arun Mobile skin of IP.Board isn't helping. Please look into the matter. IE on mobile is working (signing in or replying is possible) but it is too slow and user interface, zooming, navigation is not good. I don't like to use.

  24. RIMweb.in Member Of The Year - 2010

Where are Arun/ Greatest/ Kamal/ Kesav to name a few? Who decided the nominations? To me all members are contributing. There should not be any discrimination. The techies/Mods/Gurus are always revered by us. This forum is like a family. I'll not vote for anybody.
