  1. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

I'm talking about v. 5.0.3521 of March 2010 which has a very nice start page a la Opera Mobile 10. This version also allows to read Indian language sites on mobile. Which version you are using? Anyways, there are surely issues with Opera Mini. Websites ought to be browser independent.
  2. TATA Docomo 3G Speed Test Results

So low speed even without sharing! Hope it will get better after testing phase.
  3. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

Can the developers be requested to modify the script to make it browser independent?
  4. Micromax Modu T 3G Hsdpa 3.6 Mbps With 5Mp Camera

True, these rebranded Chinese phones are all avoidable.
  5. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

This is an old problem, not a new one. When I installed Opera Mini in Aug'10 (new version, having 9 short-cuts on Start Page similar to Opera Mobile 10), I found this problem on our rimweb.in pages. Opera Mobile 9.7 beta or Opera Mobile 10 can show all rimweb pages correctly. But they are much slower. Also Bangla pages cannot be opened on these two browsers, so I prefer Opera Mini.
  6. RIMweb compatibility with Opera Mini

Refreshing doesn't negate the glitch, in my case.
  7. Lets Ask Arun

Today I found that my attachment quota has been raised to 4.92 MB from 1MB. Mods
  8. On data field, CDMA seems to be only option. AirTel's PCMCIA/ USB data card (GSM based) is worst. BSNL's 3G cards are also quite poor compared to EVDO cards.
  9. Micromax Modu T 3G Hsdpa 3.6 Mbps With 5Mp Camera

Why are you silent on the Network point? I found this few days back on ebay but it appeared costly to me vis-a-vis its features. The model being sold in ebay.in is 3SIM (GSM/GSM/CDMA). Are you referring to the same model? ebay page showing Modu T
  10. Indonesia's user profile has increased considerably. World Bank's report in Oct'10 shows that 8.7% of Indonesian population uses internet against India's 5.1%; mobile phone users comprise 69.2% of Indonesian population while that figure is 43.8% for India. Moreover, Indonesia's current per capita income is three-fold compared to that of India. You will be astonished to know that per capita income of India is even less than that of Bangladesh and that of Sri Lanka.
  11. Thanks, Greatest. I'm now enjoying it on my wifi enabled phone also.
  12. These packs are not too beneficial than those were available earlier. There were daily rental pack (of Rs. 1/day, i.e. Rs. 30/month) which provided similar benefits. Daily pack of Rs. 5 is a poor copy of Uninor's 'Aaj Ka Paanch' which is far better offer allowing double on-net local/ STD calls, five times more SMS and also data option is there (30 MB for tethering also).
  13. I'm from Bolpur, 159km away from Kolkata. It's a small town, based on Viswa Bharati, the central university at Shantiniketan, the place of Rabindranath Tagore and Amartya Sen. I'm posting my speedresult, recorded today.
  14. I'm requesting the mods of the forum to do something so that we can use our Rupee symbol while writing a post. As we are not writing through HTML editor, API or javascript designed for inserting Rupee symbol in the post is not easy. Please make some menu to help us using the Rupee symbol.
  15. Will this be another success story a la Bhuvan, ISRO's multi crore answer to Google Earth?
  16. Why different thread, Arun? There is already 'most well known' thread on this issue.
  17. Vote For The Best Web Browser!

The vote above shows how unpopular IE is.
  18. I'll surely share my experience on this device. I wonder, why I didn't explore this earlier. Since inception, my EVDO bill is Rs. 276.
  19. Handy compared to iPad. I'll wait for the price to come down.... to somewhat similar to netbooks.
  20. @ Shashank: I wanted a portable device, hence went for this. I received my Olive Nexus V-R9 Router over Blue Dart. The packing was good. The seller from ebay(roshniinfotech) was really quick . I finished the payment at around 7pm on 27th and I received it today in the afternoon. I could configure the router with my BSNL EVDO and now it is working. I'm very happy that now I'm able to surf on my ASUS P552w over wifi, that too without subscribing for 3G from any operator. Only sad point is, in my hTc Touch, I don't have wifi. Now, my avenues are broader. I can also buy android tablets to surf 3G internet anywhere. No extra cost (BSNL EVDO allows unlimited usage, for me it is Rs. 276/month [Rs. 250 + service tax]) Thanks Kesav for suggesting me Olive Nexus. Friends here, who are buying good handsets and finding it difficult to use data (sometimes only 1X is possible) can very well use their portable internet devices (BSNL EVDO/Reliance Net connect/ MTS Blaze/ Tata Photon+/BSNL 3G or at least the 1X devices) for internet on their handsets.
  21. Micromax Q5C Launch!

I haven't used this phone. But on LG 510 1X data (in our place only 1X is available on Reliance or Tata) is accessible with normal (non-OMH) RUIM both for Reliance and Tata. But Samsung Corby requires RUIM upgradation even for 1X data. Hence, please check whether Micromax Q5C supports data on normal RUIM or not.
  22. I couldn't covey what I wanted to say. At the time of receiving a call, if I don't know from which network's subscriber I'm getting the call, how can I be sure that he is from Tata community? Then how can I reject the call and call him back because I've Tata2Tata unlimited pack and he has not? If I reject the call and find that he is from another network (despite his number was a Tata number), calling him back will cost me. If I myself originate a call, then an SMS based notification (regarding network) or a voice message will server the purpose.
  23. MTS Sub Category Forum Request

What about a separate sub-category for PING? It also provides CDMA service (in Punjab)
  24. Which Is Better - 3G or EVDO?

With 2.5 times more subscribers in GSM than CDMA (Aug '10 figure), operators will afford to erect more towers.
