Sometimes there is no explanation. Even one of the ugliest and most inconvenient two wheelers - Bajaj M50 was a super-duper hit while smart looking two wheelers from Enfield like Silver Plus or Explorer with German (Zundapp) technology, sporting mag wheels even 30 years back, were not that successful.

Really, a menu driven gadget without a screen is like walking down the street blindfolded. I wonder how could they mull over designing such a dumb thing.

Need Some Help In Clarifying Bsnl 3G Connection
sougatadc replied to ani_meher's topic in Data services
It is better to avoid BSNL 3G. They are spending a lot on advertisements but not on infrastructure. The coverage of 3G is dismal and even in 3G areas, it is unstable. I tried this for 4 months and finally switched back to Tata Indicom's 1X (this is a non-EVDO area of Tata or Reliance). Don't just go for 3G as you have a special number of BSNL. Mine is special too (9434353637), but that didn't continue to be the reason of using 3G. -
TATA Indicom Reintroduces Internet Packs
sougatadc replied to sougatadc's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
But Deepan, the 40p/min rate is for using the phone as modem. The 10p/10kb was there for internet on mobile. I was using on my hTc Touch sometimes. @Sumit, even if it is WAP, you can use it for full internet on your handset. You can download any attachment or do any type of internet based applications like google map with GPS. I'm using it on my hTc Touch. Only restriction is don't use this internet on your PC/laptop by utilizing your phonne as modem.Just do it with the following settings: Server Dial = #777 User Name = wapuser Password = wapuser Proxy Server IP = 172.23.252.15 Proxy Server Port = 9401 Means Proxy / Port = 172.23.252.15:9401 Yes, it is the best tariff now for CDMA. And the coverage is also good. I wrote a detailed mail directly to the MD, Tata Indicom requesting for introduction of internet packs last month. I was contacted from the MD's desk at Chennai and was told that it was being taken care of. May be this is the result. The mail reads as follows: "Sir, Uninor is offering MyConnect 90 for Rs 90/month allowing usage limit of 3GB along with unlimited access of Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter. Vodafone offers unlimited GPRS/EDGE against Rs 14/day, Rs 32/week or Rs 98/month. AirTel offers 2GB of free data with a validity of one month for a recharge of Rs 98. Aircel provides unlimited internet for 3 days against Rs 14 and for a month against Rs. 98. Reliance Smart allows use of unlimited GPRS (Internet) on mobile phones as well as computer for Whole Month (30 Days) against Rs. 303 recharge. It is Rs 81 for 7 days and Rs 39 for weekends. Reliance CDMA provides unlimited browsing with a plan charge of Rs. 99 per Month. !dea cellular also provides unlimited surfing for Rs 98 a month. Moreover with Tata DoCoMo, one can have a usage of 6GB against Rs 95, 2GB against Rs 48, 500MB (3days) for Rs 15 and 10MB (one day) for Rs 5. Being an old subscriber of Tata Indicom (I was a prepaid subscriber first and from 2007 switched over to postpaid), once I used to use unlimited internet on my mobile for Rs 75/month only. Now the cost of browsing internet is too high (10p/10KB) which prevents many prospective subscribers to use on their mobile phones. Please think over it and kindly introduce usage based internet plans for mobiles without further delay. While subscribers of Tata DoCoMo are enjoying attractive internet plans, why we, the Tata Indicom subscribers are not getting the chance? I am still with Tata Indicom because I have a special number (9233445566), if this bottleneck continues to be there, it will force me to change network at the introduction of MNP." -
TATA Indicom Reintroduces Internet Packs
sougatadc replied to sougatadc's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Yes, 'Pay as you go' was there and it is still there. If no add-on pack is activated, the tariff remains 10p/10kb. Steep, isn't it? -
I too strongly second kshah's obervation. I've used 3 NOKIA CDMA sets...2112,6235 and 6275. All models have problems.

BSNL Launches Fibre2Home (FTTH)
sougatadc replied to vikasmahajanz's topic in Other Broadband Discussion
1000 Mbps! What a Bakwas! Worldwide South Korea and Japan are on the top of the list showing highest internet speeds with average Internet connection of 14.6Mbps and 7.9Mbps respectively. Hong Kong, with an average speed of 7.6Mbps, is at third place. Rounding out the top 10 list are Romania, Sweden, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. A point to be noted that the United States is placed only at 18th position with its 3.9Mbps average speed of internet connection. And is it to be believed that we will be getting 1000Mbps soon? I'm the last person to believe this.- 18 replies

Thanks for the offer. And best part of it is the registration will be done for free. But only bottleneck is that he will do it according to his time and as he is quite a busy person, he cannot do an all-out follow up. My hTc Touch on TataIndicom is more than 2yrs old now. I would have changed to any other advanced handset already. Registration of a new ESN to Tata network is holding me back. Also, the tariff for internet on TataIndicom is quite high compared to that of other operators. Hence there isn't any point of buying too advanced a handset right now. My hTc Touch which I bought from Sadikk is working quite well. If the tariff of internet usage is revised and brought at par with other leading operators, I will definitely switch over to better handset immediately. Waiting and watching...

Ditto, Parin. Moreover, Mamata is honest. This is her strongest point. In politics, if somebody is honest, he or she should be most welcome by all of us. Mamata has grown herself from grassroot level. Still she is an icon of self-control. Leaders from all over India who meets her closely, get dumbfounded by her simplicity. She has boundless energy to do good, with no requisite for herself. People of West Bengal love her. Whole of India will love her too.

Tata Docomo 99 Recharge Free Gprs For One Year And Tata To Tata Free
sougatadc replied to rkburra's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Yes, that is what I'm enjoying here at West Bengal with a Mumbai connection. It is actually a voice plan rechrged specially with that Rs94 pack (that gives 1GB of data usage/month for a year). As I'm always on roaming regarding this connection, I'm not receiving or making any call with this connection, using it only for browsing the net. Thanks for the info. But it says all previous benefits will lapse! What does that mean? Also, I have the weekly Rs. 10 pack activated which gives 1p/2sec local calls. Does anybody know if this be used along with the Sab Se Bol pack? Voice clarity on Docomo does seem quite good at my residence. A huge relief from RGSM! Judge yourself whether you require data usage or you are predominantly a caller. If you are addicted to net surfing and you require it on the move, go for this pack, otherwise stick to your favourite 1p/2sec calls. -
What about OMH version of 6275? Last week I found it was being sold in Navi Mumbai? PRL of a particular carrier would make it non-OMH, am I right?

Tata Docomo 99 Recharge Free Gprs For One Year And Tata To Tata Free
sougatadc replied to rkburra's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
It's great! I procured a connection from Mumbai before the deadline of 2nd June was over and brought the same to our West Bengal circle. It is working fine on roaming. No deduction on data usage. I've deactivated my BSNL 3G data connection on my ASUS P552 Windows Mobile and now using this connection for accessing internet on the go. 1GB per month for the next one year. Thanks a lot Tata DoCoMo Maharastra & Goa circle. -
Indicom Username Password
sougatadc replied to ::Hitesh::'s topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Nobody is replying to Hitesh's query. Yes, the factory default userid and pasword for ZTE 1X and EVDO (AC8700 800M)devices are 'CARD' and BSNL keeps them as such(all of us know why). And their subscribes are required to know how to change the userid and passwords to use the devices! -
Any news about importing it into Sadikk or Hitesh's stable?
